Not from all of us. I banked 72k iron and 144k coal to get from 70 something to about 97 mining and made tens of mils of profit making 72k steel bars. Now don't ask me how long that took, but I would have banked coal with my mining method anyway (as I ended up doing) since I've tried powermining before and I absolutely detest it. I enjoy the more leisurely pace of mining and banking coal in the guild, so I figured I might as well accompany it with mining iron and bring in a substantial amount of cash for myself. I'd say it was worth it - I'm finally about to knock out one of the most difficult/tedious 99s in F2P and have over 100m net worth to spend on other skills once I'm done. That is kinda my plan, but i'm not going to mine all the coal. Rather i'm going to smelt all the iron into bars (or 80% of it/whatever % jagex decides), and then turn that into iron plates (best profit/bar). For some reason they seem to sell on GE (last i checked anyway). Any thoughts? I can't imagine it would be worth all that extra time mining the coal for the steel.

Mining is so much faster now in F2P with the bank deposit box in the dwarven mines. I got 61k xp in an evening of playing. I managed to do a full inventory in 2 min (+/- 1 sec), so i could theoritically get 29,400xp an hour.

If you look at FOG, you'll find that more people there use mage. And no, i don't mean the level 25's training their magic for free, i mean people around level 60-80.

How so? Prayer xp?
-
that's beast. Still working on 60....
-
One can only dream it would be that easy.... Joking, I'm looking for a challenge in F2P, hopefully this will be it...
-
Wait, do you get xp when you cast the low alchs with the current ring? And as for the GOP, I hope it's just to finish a game, because I have never played it, even though I have had 50 runecrafting for 6-ish months... As for other tasks, there might be something like smithing an addy or mith bar, maybe mining some addy ore (there is some in the swamps right), getting 100 water runes from the water altar, and so on.

Although it's somewhat irrelevant, I doubt the hard Lumbridge/Draynor diary will be available for free players. F2P doesn't really have much content that requires a level of 60 and above. Not to mention 90+ (elite diary) we only have Smithing. Quote from the rs forum from Mod Maz: "Vornollo: will the Explorer Ring from the Lumbridge & Draynor Diary have an elite version too? and will it be able to complete as a F2P player? Answer: Lumbridge is unlikely to have an elite tier. Mainly as there isn't that much to do in Lumbridge which is that high level. Yes, the hard level we are introducing is F2P like the rest of the Lumbridge Diary. " ?198,199,9,61623420"]Link

What do you guys think the hard diarys objectives consist of?

How do you guys train your smithing? I'm going for 60 right now (at 52), and am smelting iron bars to smith. This should get me around 56-58ish (will have around 2000). Any tips on how to keep going?

Are they that much better?

Blizzard to require real names for forums
slickmovedud replied to stonewall337's topic in General Discussion
Blizzard has backed down with the whole issue in case people are wondering. It isn't happeaning. Link here.\ No it's not a dangerous link, it's a link to BBC News for those of you who are worried. -
Just to bring this thread back to life, thought i'd say i just got 1000 f2p total with 65 magic. Next to get are 50 prayer (along with whatever range level that brings), 70 firemaking and cooking, some woodcutting (maybe 80), fishing (maybe 75).
-
What's the best way to make money in F2P (yes i have been playing f2p my whole life, and know all the usual ones)? I want some money to get my prayer up above 50, and then maybe some more to train smithing... But before all that i'm getting 100 total (only 5 off...). My stats are here. Thanks...

This is the correct reason. Why they still have it in is probably a mixture of everyone elses reasonings. thing was, you could simply bookmark the actual game, and you could instantly hop like everyone else. it wasn't an unfair advantage, people just didn't take the time to read RSOF or a fansite forum to figure it out :P but sure, jagex may have tried to babysit us in the past as they babysit us now :D Oh I think I remb that, back when the URL still said like w1.runescape.com or something like that, you just change the w1 to w2 and relog in with no delay. Something like that. Gosh that was a long time ago. hahaha i just remembered that as well, i had worlds 2, 6 and 12 bookmarked i think (because they were the busiest and hard to get into) :D Yeah, nowadays, it's just one page. And those old days were awesome, no more stupid quests for the holiday events.

If I remember right it was implemented when jagex made it so you didn't have to go back to the 'worlds' page to switch worlds. I think the main reason was to prevent people from buying up all the store items in each world. That sounds right...i think. No it was implemented way before that. Back in 2005, it was still there. (i'd know, i was switching worlds to find somewhere i could mine iron with my lvl 30 mining)

Thanks for all the help guys, i've ended up gaining 3, nearly 4 levels at flesh crawlers with minimal effort. As for the new creatures (the ones with 99hp), i tried them and they're really slow xp. Aren't the Flesh Crawlers in the Catacombs?

I haven't trained my melee combat for a while, what would be a good place for a level 75(combat) to train defense? (Attack is 60, defense is 50, hit-points are 64, str is 67, and 45 prayer). Preferably a monster that drops bones.
-
I have no idea why people prefer to kill ice giants over hill giants for prayer XP. I personally kill hill giants, but here is my theory: better drops, more combat xp (besides prayer), and less competition if you're using the edgeville dungeon. I personally don't really care about drops, i made 30k from their limp roots in 1 hour and got 1 ranged level (58-59) and 1 prayer level (42-43). And if they know what they're doing they can usually get the hill giants before anyone else can (i can). And what is the most cost efficient (spending less than 10k/level) way to train crafting at level 42. At the moment, i'm inside the crafting guild mining clay and turning it into bowl for 660xp for 20 bowls and inventory.
-
mine is woodcutting at 72. Got it up to 60 for yews, only to discover that they weren't the best at that level, so i kept getting it up until 71 when i quit with 20k xp till 72. Then i came back 2 years later and realized there was only 20k xp so i got it up to 72. Now though, i think i'm going to get my mining, woodcutting and fishing up to 75. By then, i'll have enough fish to get cooking up to 75-80, so it won't be a problem getting my cooking that high as well.

Can't agree more.

Hardest skill to level (most tedious) - Poll -
slickmovedud replied to Atom Smash40's topic in Questionnaires
There are two questins being asked here: What skill do you personally believe to be the hardest? Runecrafting What skill gives the lowest XP rate/hour if you have unlimited money and resources? I'd have to do a trial -
They were quite a few other f2p updates: The two new dungeons in barbarian village Duel Arena GE Great Orb Project Fist of Guthix And about the f2p wave spells, i support it happening. This would give me a reason to train my magic level beyond 60 (well 59, but 60 for even looking stats).A Yes f2p does have teleblock, but that is only used in PVP and even then, i highly doubt it is used often.
