My idea of attributes is that they aren't decided by yourself. If I decide I am trustworthy but everyone knows me as a liar what does it matter what I label myself.

If I wish to change that attribute it takes a level of commitment over a length of time to change that attribute.

Which is what really annoys me about tumblrettes who demand the recognition that comes with being trans without putting in the commitment.

What if someone doesn't identify with their birth gender but they're poor and don't have the money to afford hormone replacement therapy? Does that get them thrown into your arbitrary category of Tumblrette? What defines commitment?

The bathroom bill is completely unenforceable gender policing and discrimination under the guise of public safety, make no mistake.

  2. Lol you guys are turning into adults but as usual I'm still a couple years behind. Absolutely destroyed myself Saturday night with 20 shots in 30 minutes, woke up in a bath tub with no memory of the evening. Spent all of Sunday puking and lying in bed. Probably going to take a break from drinking for a little while.

i actually have a pretty hard time believing that you took 20 shots in 30 minutes. that is ridiculous. and really dangerous.

  3. ^ agreed. I rarely get drunk now, and as a result a 16oz pbr gets me feeling pretty tipsy. It's great.

Tapering down on the partying and getting drunk is pretty refreshing. Drinking a lot just [bleep]s with my sleep too much, is expensive, and makes me drained and unproductive the next day. Every once in a while is still fun tho

  4. Hotline Bling is a fantastic song, I have qualms with the lyrics but it's great all around.

He's not even really Canadian. And I like his music, but I hate when he's with future or one of those other garbage rappers

Future is fire, wtf are you on?? Willing to fight anyone over this tbh

  5. yo, straight up, people who complain about society being too "PC" these days are the worst. obviously there are extreme examples where people are just trying to feel personally superior and correct what people say. but i've found that generally the ones who are complaining about "JEEZ WHY'S EVERYONE SO OFFENDED THESE DAYS" are people who lack more nuanced knowledge about race, ethnicity, culture, and their historical context in the United States, as well as the ability to be generally mindful and considerate of others' feelings. then when someone says anything to refute what they're saying, they're ironically the ones who are actually getting offended by how they can't just spout off misinformed ideas.

  6. Hedge, that has been passed around the internet for ages. I can't imagine it started here (granted who would believe it if I said chat roulette started here - which it effectively did).

I remember that, it was called head2head if my memory serves. i remember having screenshots from that on my old desktop. those were fun times.

winter quarter going a'ight. lots of good music releases next month. following the saga of the new yeezy album is fun, while typing this he changed the album's title again lol

  7. I'm in downtown Los Angeles currently by myself, completely lost, and I finally found a bathroom. Things were about to get bad there.

Anyways, Southern California has been fun so far.

  8. Just got a job offer today! Ended up getting one from Qualtrics in Seattle for a software development position. It's dramatically better than my other offers and Seattle is an awesome city so I'm probably going to end up taking it unless something crazy happens over these next two weeks. It feels awesome finally having one I'll be happy with lined up. If I end up taking it I'd be moving to Seattle in August.

    In other news, the exam I didn't study for is down and I feel pretty good about it. one more in an hour. ;____;

hmu in the 206 if you're tryna make friends B)
  9. well we wouldn't be moving in together until september. by that point we'll have been officially dating for over a year, and would've been seeing each other for like a year and a half.

we often spend the weekends with each other, sleeping over for 3 nights in a row, and have spent longer sustained periods of time together for trips and stuff. it's not like it's been that long, but i think i have a pretty good grasp for her living habits, which are fine. she genuinely enjoys cooking and cleans up a lot after her older sister (who she lives with), so i doubt that'd be an issue.

also, we're most likely going to be looking at living in a house with a few friends as well. we both agreed that that'd probably be a good idea, since we would get to see each other consistently and stuff still, but we'd have the company of other people during times where we could admittedly use a bit of a break from each other. but we might also just get an apartment for the two of us, since renting a house and living with other people can be more of a pain.

  10.

Got a 3-hour final on Friday with 100 questions. Yawn.

Will be good to say bye bye to another module, though.

Temperatures slowly dropping but I'm hacking it at the moment without requiring my winter coat.

Reports say it'll be a slightly warmer winter.

I didn't leave the house today except for smoking breaks but other than that I have new earphones and it literally feels like I haven't been listening to the same songs.

What did you get? I've had the worst luck with earphones lately, can barely get a pair to last a month.

yo same, i'm so sick of this shit. i spend like 30-40 bucks on a pair of earphones and they break every month or two. not sure what gives, i avoid sitting on them and stuff like that. my walks to campus and bus rides have been sadly quiet recently.

  11. Ordered 5 ties from AliExpress. Cost me 8€, all together.

I haven't gotten cheated on there yet and it ain't my first order. But I do wonder, how the [bleep]ing hell can everything be so cheap there.

    Because it's trash.
  12.

Cut Down All the Trees and Name the Streets After Them, by the Fall of Troy.

Haven't listened to them in like four years, when I downloaded them, but they're pretty sweet, aye. Also yeah if you read this Pie, I got them because you had them on Last.fm.

    yo!!

haha yeah tfot will remain of my all-time fave bands. saw them a couple years ago for their hometown reunion show after they disbanded for a few years. needless to say, it was a truly incredible show. they're back on the road touring now, might have to see em sometime!

  13. i got a gig as a DJ for my school's radio station! my show is just an hour long to start out. from the sounds of things we can pretty much do whatever we want during our show within reason, i was just thinking of having a general "what i've been listening to" playlist with a focus on indie rock, electronic, etc, but i'm not sure if i should go a more specific route. i'll see!

  14.

vaping is so dumb. in theory it's really not bad at all but everyone i see vaping in public is some huge [wagon] blowing clouds of [bleep]ing cotton candy shit into the realm of multiple pedestrians, or some fedora-clad guy with a goatee doing it inside a building or something.

My wife was a very occasional smoker (a pack would go stale before she would finish it). A friend gave her his old vaporizer and she now hits it pretty often. She mostly uses nicotine-free liquid, but it still smells disgusting and always seems to follow me.

God damn it I forgot to turn on the WiFi on my phone earlier after briefly turning it off and I accidentally used a shit ton of data watching YouTube videos and stuff. Welp.

Does disabling wifi actually have a meaningful impact on battery life? I have unmetered LTE, so I generally just use that unless I specifically want access to something on the local network.
Not sure regarding the battery life, I disabled it because I was automatically connected to a very weak network while trying to load something. Phone kept trying to load it thru that network, I disabled it to just load it on data. Forgot to turn wifi back on :/

@ammako just turned that setting on, thanks
