  1. I don't know what churches you were brought up in, but I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school for 8 years where we had required religious teachings and masses. We were always taught from our texts and priest that questioning of religion and doubt was perfectly normal.
  2. NOPE LET'S GET P9K NOW GOGOGOGOGOGO

  6. Believe it or not, the rules are enforced in good faith. In other words, it is never implied that you are doing it for the sole purpose of breaking the rules or causing a disruption. If posts are removed asking why, it's because of that specific reason. Nothing else. If the rules weren't enforced then what's the point of having that rule in the first place? Some rules can be overlooked occasionally, but in the case of rules such as this (posting on behalf of banned users), then there is no contest; your post will be removed. If you wish to know the reasonings for my departure, it is for me to reveal, not for anyone else. If you wish to know something, I was approached by an administrator over IRC not too long ago expressing you guys' concerns about me. I assure you, they care about their users and if a serious concern has been brought up, they will investigate as shown with this. In regard to Goon, if he is unsure he can just use the Account Problem form or contact one of the admins by other means (eg. IRC, in-game, MSN, Skype...). Posting on a topic about it in public view will just cause unneeded speculation. Can you see the same boards that the moderators can? Can you see the same interpretations various moderators have made? Can you see the discussions that the moderators have held to come to a conclusion? No. As you can see, there are various problems with posting moderator actions in public as it will just amount to a massive amount of bullshit, greater than what you claim tripsis to be spewing. By the way, I am not reading from a script, I am speaking from my past experiences in the moderating team. It is never a glamorous job because a moderator's actions are always on the basis of the rule book. They are responsible for enforcing the rules and that's that. If a rule needs to be created, it is discussed and implemented. If a rule is too harsh and therefore warrants a change, it is discussed and implemented. Often users try to argue with a particular moderator that the rule is bad. The fact that the rule is incorrect or not does not excuse you from practising the same behaviour that the rule prohibits. It is instead a user's responsibility to bring it up in a suitable discussion (eg. Forum Updates and Suggestions) or via PM to an administrator/moderator so it can be passed on for further discussion. You are all concerned that a particular user gets banned just because of a small offence. This is not true. I restate, a user will not and can not be banned from a single offence unless it is something that is completely unacceptable such as pornography or keylogging. A user will go through the following process: A reminder A warning A stern warning A final warning A suspension of some sort - depends on length of record and severity of offence This is not a general guideline and should not be used as such, which is why it can be often either expanded or collapsed. The point being, there is a huge amount of communication between the moderating team and the user about their specific behaviour and once they continue it, they finally receive a ban. Furthermore, all bans are discussed between the moderating team. It is NEVER one person's choice. Often it is a local moderator who notices an offence, and since they do not have the appropriate permissions to suspend/ban, they need to request another moderator (super/admin) to do it. This requires communication between multiple team members; not just one. In terms of 'muting', yes there is a muting feature. It can be instated by a regular moderator, however it is usually used in emergency situations where a super moderator/administrator is not available. Even though this thread is seen as a small independent group, it is still subject to the rules. In fact, a few posts of mine were removed from here in the past, including one or two of them during my time as a community leader and moderator. Now, to hopefully change the subject. In regards to my departure. If it is really necessary for me to discuss it, I will. PM me on these boards and I will answer any questions to the best of my ability. horey shet
