YW. Render's over-blended. Did you change the opacity(sp?) on it? Still not liking the colours and the smudging looks rushed. What's up with the sudden darkness on the edges?

The Power Supply's fine. Though there are better ones. Q6600 is fine, where I live - a lot of stores are starting to discontinue it seeing as it's an older architecture. 65nm instead of the others being 45nm.

I'd agree with Lax on some points. I'd say remove the text or make it less distracting (smaller, dimmer). Sharpen the focal so it stands out more though it has some blending which is less than mediocre, at least you tried. Blend the C4D so it doesn't stand out so much and try to use it so it creates flow and adds appeal. Try out some different effects. The (smudging?) looks decent but it's certainly not the greatest. Try using clipping masks or something just to change it up a bit. It needs a decent colour-scheme, I'm not liking the one at the moment. You should really read up about it, I'm sure it'll help you ALOT. You're signatures lack some key elements: Your focal point isn't defined. We need to know what it is and not get distracted by other things. You're signatures have pretty much no appeal and they often look rushed and as a result are sloppy. You need to create some flow, it can help the tag immensely. Your colours aren't very good either. You also have a lack of effects, IMO. You need some variety and don't be afraid to try new things. You are terrible at using C4D's, IMO. They just stand out and don't create flow, or help the tag at all. You might as well not have them if you're going to use them like that. I'd say you should read up on your tutorials or look at some .PSDs/.XCF's (I think?) There's also another main concern of mine. I can hardly find any positives in your signatures. They're all negative or "bad" most of the time Good luck. I hope I helped :)

But from what I can see, all he wanted was help. Just like ALL of us here have asked for many, many times. I'll agree with the fact that they aren't very good and the fact that he used the spray-tool like that -.- Alright, I don't know much about pixels (or whatever the hell you wanna call this stuff) but I think I know basic anatomy. And that is something you're drawings DON'T have. The proportions are all WRONG. They're not the worst, but I don't think they're near correct. You're colours aren't very nice either and the way you used the spray-tool is a no-no as far as I'm concerned. Read some tutorials and just keep trying. If you take all the trolling seriously and/or can't handle the actual criticism then you'll never get anywhere. Overall I'd say work on your linework, shading and colours. As well as you're anatomy and proportions of things. Try drawing still life (fruit and such). Perhaps someone more experienced than me can help. (I'm looking at you Uno) :lol:

Seems to be a good comparison. As I expected, the Corsair one was the best. When it comes to the price of it, I guess you get what you pay for : You could go for a Corsair 450VX which isn't modular but it's still very good. Don't let the 450W scare you. It's quite capable of pumping out a lot more than that very consistently and it could easily run your system :) Boy I'm advertising Corsair a lot. They should start paying me :P

+1 for sure :D If you want a little head-room for upgrades grab a Corsair 620HX or an Antec NeoPower 650W. Both are made by Seasonic so they're both of excellent quality. I highly recommend you grab one of those if you can afford it and/or looking for that little bit of extra head-room for upgrades. Even if you're not looking for head-room, you could still grab a Corsair 520HX. All of which, BTW, are modular which is always a plus :thumbsup: Of course they don't have to be modular. You could always get something around 500W which isn't modular. Hell, I run a system similar to yours on This (Came with my case, runs everything fine) : ^ If you're looking for speed, do this. VelociRaptor's are still good so consider that as a boot drive if you're looking for speed. I would assume 150GB would be enough for your OS and whatever else you'd wanna chuck on it.

Oh boy. I don't really know where to start :shock: As for the Quads, games are starting to be optimized for Quads so it's probably worth going for a Quad-Core Processor. Of course the Quad will also make your computer last longer so it's also worth it in the factor. If you can afford the Q9550, by all means go for it. If not a Q9400 is fine. As for Cache, I can't really explain it so I'll let Wikipedia help me ;) If you're looking to save money on Ram you could always get Kingston which are an excellent brand which I personally use. Of course Corsair are an excellent brand so it doesn't matter which one you pick. As for Power Supplies I haven't heard of most of the ones in this topic :? But from the reviews they seem pretty good. Also about the numbers in the CPU 9400 & 9550 are just the names (as far as I'm concerned) and LGA775 is the socket. In this case Socket 775 and 95W is just the Thermal Power if you look under the Specs.

Too powerful for the CPU? You mean too powerful for the whole computer? Well there are cases such as overkill. For example buying a 1000W Power Supply to run a setup like yours when really that Power Supply could handle something far more superior (Tri-SLi for example). I don't think you can have a Power Supply too powerful for a computer but you might want someone more experienced than me to confirm this. The 520HX is an excellent choice BTW, I don't have it myself but the fact that it's modular and 80%+ efficiency you can tell that it's an awesome Power Supply. It's also one of the most quietest if that effects you.

The HD48XX series was designed to cope with the hot temperatures the cards produce so as long as you have decent airflow in your case, you shouldn't have a problem. My card runs just fine and I've only had it for a month so I can't really comment on the reliability or durability of the card. Sorry if you've already stated this, but what size monitor are you using? 22" or lower a HD4850 512Mb will do you fine. Once you get to 24" and above you might want to get a HD4870 or higher. Anyways, I agree with what Joe said and Powercolor are an excellent brand. Also, keep in mind the release of AMD's new CPU's - they look very promising. PSU looks good, will run everything fine. If you're looking for some headroom consider something like an Antec NeoPower 550W (Modular) or even a 520HX (Modular) They are both built by Seasonic so they are of excellent quality. Case is excellent as well. Good airflow and cooling, nice choice. I'd personally go with a Western Digital hard drive but that's up to you. RAM is good, Corsair are a good brand. I prefer Pioneer optical drives - they've always been good to me. Could consider an Asus board but that is an excellent Motherboard. I am a Gigabyte man myself but I'm just trying to keep your options open. And to answer your latest question, I can't really say. All of them are good, reliable brands.

It doesn't really matter which one you get. I personally have an Asus one which has excellent cooling (if you've seen it, it has a massive fan). Personally I'd get one with 512MB of memory as apposed to the 1GB version because there really isn't much difference. Basically the card differences are that they're overclocked (Higher clock speed), different cooling methods (Dual slot cooling, different fans, etc.) and that's really it. Read the reviews, look at the prices, and just choose one you like.

Heya, Shiny : The concept on the first one is okay. It's just you've failed to execute it in a good way. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, however. The white lines (clipping masks?) are quite distracting IMO and don't really fit there. Again the idea for the text is good but isn't excuted properly. Is that smudging that you've done their? I like the idea of it but again it hasn't been executed properly. The colours aren't very good either but I can see where you're coming from with this tag and I suppose it isn't too bad. Second one I rather like actually. The border is horrendous though, take it off. Oh and that doesn't mean slap on a 5px black one either :) The orange stuff (pentool?) looks too random and doesn't fit in too well. Although it could have looked so much better if placed properly. Overall it looks decent. A bit too simple and lacking effects though. Third one is probably the best. Smudging isn't too good and I don't like the border. You've tried to blend the render and yeah, I suppose it works but it's the lack of appeal and the cluttered C4D's that really bring this tag down. It's not just that either, the colours aren't too flash (though they're not the worst I've seen) and the lack of effects is unappealing. Overall they aren't too bad. I think you have great ideas and concept but you just need to execute them properly. I know that's easier said than done but if you work on it, you and I both know you'll get it. You also need to try and include a variety of effects and not just smudge and add C4D's. Also it's just that your tags lack an overall appeal to them. I don't know how you can fix that, maybe try a new style out? Experiment, whatever you have to do, go ahead and do it. Remember you can always ask for advice and/or read tutorials.

So this is entirely up to you, if you want to take a crack at it after you've done the others or whatever. Description: A guitarist performing a guitar solo. I would like his guitar to be engulfed in flames. Actually, scratch that. I would like it so it was as if the guitar was "releasing" fire. You know like he was playing so good he was "on fire". Lol -.- As for the background I would like it to be a bedroom. I would like the guitarist to be jumping on the bed playing with one leg forward and one leg back in a jumping motion. Of course it is an electric guitar so I would appreciate it if you including an amp in there. I'd like some posters on the wall of some rock bands. Also I'd like a stereo or something in their with some CD's or something like that. Also if you can, could the guitarist sort of have music notes around him. I hope you know what I mean.
