  1. I had the mime random last night while hunting chins. That's only the 3rd or 4th random I've had since the update. Anyway, when I was teleported back to my hunting spot I was bummed to see that all of my box traps were gone. :x Then, I looked in my inventory and there they were!!! \ I don't remember traps automatically being picked up and placed in my pack during a random before the update, but maybe they were. Anyone know? If that's something new, then yes... I'm liking this update even more.
  2. A few suggestions: Walking around the statue: Make sure you don't have anything in your hands (wep & shield spots). Tried several times with staff in hand and nothing, but once I unequipped it then it registered. Others were having the same problem until I suggested that and then it worked for them as well. Archery tickets: I have over 1k in the bank, but brought 980 thinking I could get the last 20 and call it good. I didn't even need to do that. If you have over 1k in the bank and you talk to him then you'll complete the task. Tower guards: It took me a few times, but I think the "secret to success" here is to do it all in one go without climbing down the ladder (using the right equpment, of course). I'd also suggest to use prayer and bring plenty (200+?) of iron arrows.
  3. Anyone notice that if you talk to Explorer Jack again after the quest and after he gives you the 5000gp for the Yeti stones that he says, "I've been to that ice cave the snow imp mentioned. Sliding is great fun! You should go back there sometime." I should? Is there something else there? Another hidden reward maybe? I received all 3 skill rewards, the stones, & the 5kgp. Maybe he just wants me to have some fun???
  4. I have a couple... hopefully they haven't been mentioned yet. Sorry if they have. 1. When mining coal and chopping maples on Miscellania you can still get gems and birds nests, but you automatically give them to the NPC worker to increase your approval rating just like they were coal ore or maple logs. 2. I'm not sure how long it's been like this, but if you log out while standing anywhere within the Castle Wars bank lobby area and then log back in you will be placed in the center of the room similar to if you had just arrived via a Dueling Ring teleport.
  5. Love the teleport to the cabbage patch. Makes farming the allotment to the north that much quicker/easier.
  6. So far... so good! FYI - Running near minimum requirements: 1.8 Ghz 512 MB RAM 64 MB NVIDIA (integrated) Lag minimal... no crashes... initial load time was a couple of minutes, but much faster on subsequent logins. Most lag occurs when visiting a new area for the first time, but I noticed that when I return to an area that I've already visited then there seems to be little lag/reload time... dare I say... even faster than before...
  7. First of all, great guide!!! =D> The trap location analysis is thorough and sound, but some of the other tips (corner clicking, not waiting for the trap to spring before running over to it, moving on to the next trap as soon as the box opens up, etc) are all invaluable and essential to maximizing success as well. I have a few alternatives/suggestions for those that can only place 4 traps. IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll use the same color scheme, orientation and labeling to avoid confusion. Personally, IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve settled on placing my traps in the spots marked by the orange squares. IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m only level 70 and IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve been getting anywhere between 200-240 chinchompas an hour with this method since about level 66 or so. (That's 53k-63k xp an hour!) Some reasons to consider (or not) the alternative locations. 1a. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ As per quantumkikÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s suggestion. Might better attract those that venture northward (to the left on the image), but a little more running. Chinchompa A is almost always caught by either Trap 1 or 2. IMO having the trap at 1a was just increasing the time it took me to get that trap back up. 2. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ This is THE spot for this trap. No alternatives. 3a. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Less running, but having your trap at Location 3 seems to attract that elusive Chinchompa C with a little more regularity. 4a. ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Possibly a slightly better chance of attracting Chinchompa B and also any wayward Chinchompas that venture east, but again; a little more running. IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve tried various combinations (namely; 1a-2-3-4 // 1a-2-3-4a // 1-2-3a-4 // 1-2-3-4a) and while they all gave comparable results none of those were quite as successful as 1-2-3-4. (Note: 1-2-3-4a gave the next best results.) Basically, IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve taken quantumkikÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s suggestion for a 4-trap placement and tightened it up (with the exception of location 3). I believe this gives the best of both worlds: adequately encompassing the respawn locations while having to run a little less (the less time your traps are down the better). A fairly nice compromise IMO as evidenced by the rate IÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m catching them. (i.e. matching what others did despite being 8-10 levels lower) Happy Hunting... .
