  1. Psh, Discs of Returning bring back cold memories. My friend played RuneScape really early on and collected a ton of them when they were released. She quit until like 2006. Upon attempting to retrieve her account details with myself and two other people, one of them back-stabbed her and sold them. Keep in mind that was like two years ago, which I can't remember 100% accurately anymore. True story! Most valuable is the cracker; most uncommon is the disc; rarest person is me. Soz, but true.
  2. Just throwing this out before posting; I am 14 years old. Instead of complaining about it, you supposedly older players should be taking a little bit of time to answer their questions. Simply calling them a noob and going off in your own direction doesn't do any good. Now, instead of just someone with a question, you have a depressed and angry someone with a question that may not take to your answer very kindly. I know I take time out of my day to do this when I have the time, it is actually very self-rewarding.
  3. Part IV: The Attempt at an Escape Callum's instincts took over, and he swam as far as he could as fast as he could. Although he had saved his father by pulling him in as well, Callum did not look back to see if his father had followed him. He needed to focus on getting as far away from the boat as possible, all while remainly very inconspicuous. If Elvarg saw him, even if it was just a glance, he would certainly meet a very horrible death. Worry and fear did not intervene with Callum's objectives, and he swam and swam until he felt as if his lungs had deflated, ripped open, and now the rest of his body was deflating as well. The pain was so intense that Callum wasn't sure that it was worth living. After he had swam a distance of what felt like a few hundred feet, Callum felt safe enough to come closer to the more shallow waters. Now was the part where he had to keep the noise level terribly low. He swam to the edge of the ocean and slid onto the sand as if he were just another fish. He heard a loud cry from Elvarg, and it seemed like it came from far away. This was Callum's signal that he was free to run, and so he stood up. Callum had never run as fast as he did then. Everything was a blur, and he felt as if his legs never touched the ground. It was truely an inhuman experience - mind prevailing over body to do what instincts have told him to do. Pain did not affect him. The freezing winds did not affect him. His father climbing out of the water and calling out to him did not affect him. The last thing, however, did manage to catch Elvarg's attention. Callum heard his father scream and begin to run, but he did not slow down. He felt a bit of guilt - by allowing the screams of his father to enter his ears, he also allowed the screams of hundreds of others who were not so quick and were being burnt alive. A tear began to roll down Callum's face, but it was instantly wiped away by the force of the wind pounding against him. Callum was heading towards the volcano. If he could find a large rock mass and hide, perhaps he could escape unnoticed, survive this attack and tell the story to his grandchildren. It was the only place on the island that was not and would not be affected by Elvarg's great rage. Why would Elvarg destroy her own home? This plan seemed brilliant, so Callum kept running - no stopping for breath, no stopping for Noah, no stopping for anything. Callum began the ascent to the top of the mountain. Callum's strides became more strained, but he continued to move with a distinct rythym flowing through his arms and legs. Within a few minutes of fierce running, Callum had arrived at the top of the mountain. A rope was attatched to a nearby rock, and it went down into the mountain - Callum assumed this was the string that was used by the man who had attempted to slay Elvarg. Callum now realized he would probably find the remains of that hero inside this very mountain. Callum had messed up his rythym, and Elvarg was now darting towards him. Elvarg shot out a gust of flames, and Callum felt them pierce his back. The pain was immense - it was as if he was being penetrated by hundreds of thousands of flaming arrows. Callum collapsed, unable to hold onto the rope, and fell into the volcano. He heard his father scream, and then everything went black. With what seemed like a miracle, Callum opened his eyes. He was on a large rock mass, flat, as if it were an island sitting above the magma. Callum saw his father sitting a few feet away. He seemed to be crying. Why was he making so much noise? "Father!" Callum whispered sharply. Noah turned around. "Callum, you're alive!" his father whispered back, eyes open wide. A large grin appeared on his face, "I thought he had burnt you to death!" Callum then felt a sharp pain in his back as he recalled his recent injury. He reached a hand around to feel his back, and upon touching his flesh, began to scream. He then remembered to be quiet, and the scream turned into a very faint whisper. It was not normal flesh, like that on his arms and face. It was charred, deformed masses of flesh, and it hurt pretty darn bad. "No, Father. She just got my back. I'm fine. Where is she?" Callum whispered, gazing at his surroundings. "She is still outside of the volcano - I'm very certain that everyone else has been either burnt or eaten. We are probably the only survivors as of now," his father replied, smile turning to frown. Callum stared at the hole in the opening of the mountain. He noticed two masses that were blacked out by the bright light. Could they be people? Indeed they were. Two men jumped down, of course, unlike Callum, with the help of the rope, and ran over to them. "Fargo! Nủ̮̩̉z! Are there any others?" Noah whispered with joy. "No, Noah. We must leave at once. Elvarg is satisfied with her work and I believe she is returning to the volcano!" one of the men, who Callum assumed was Fargo, whispered back. Callum tried to stand up, but his back hurt too much. "Father, I can't get up," Callum whispered fiercely to his father. Noah then got on his knees, and Callum got on his shoulders. His back was incredibly sore. Fargo and Nủ̮̩̉z examined his injury and could do nothing but wince. They began to walk at a fast pace down a long narrow path, but were interrupted. Elvarg came soaring into the volcano, crying out with rage. She quickly noticed the four of them, and began to persue them. Nủ̮̩̉z freaked out, and fell into a pool of magma. The three remaining ran as fast as they had run before, except Callum, who had gotten off his father's back. The pain in his own back was much to severe for him to run. Instead, he dashed into a small corner of the room. His father noticed this convienient hiding spot and quickly joined him. Fargo, however, kept running down the path. Elvarg caught up, and burnt him. It appeared as if parts of him were melting and sticking to the rock, but it did not matter - Elvarg ate him anyway. Now, they were the only two left on the island. Luckily, Elvarg did not see Noah or Callum jump into their hiding spot, which was a little mass of rock surrounded by what acted as walls - it was almost as if Saradomin himself had placed the spot there to keep them alive. They sat there, silent, for God knows how long. Outside the volcano, two days passed. They both grew terribly fatiqued and starving. The third day was the worst day Callum had experienced, at least so far. His father was whispering to him, feeling that it was safe to whisper because Elvarg was most likely asleep. He did not really say much of importance, but Callum knew that somewhere in his head, Noah was plotting a way to escape the volcano, whether it meant dying or not. He was afraid his father would grow hysterical - they did not have the same will power. Callum sat quiet, just as he had for the first two days. "Callum, that is it. I can't take this anymore!" Noah shouted. "Father, we're trapped! Please don't ruin our single chance of hope and safety. This little rock is all we have now, all because we had to come to this dumb island to earn some money to pay off our not-very-big debts! All of this was unnecessary, but now, all I care about is our safety. You will not leave, by yourself or me accompanying you. It is too great of a risk to take. Our lives are at stake, father!" Callum whispered back. He had a feeling that this speech did not to anything to empower his father, but it was all he could do while remaining as quiet as he could. "Callum, you have no idea what you are talking about. We are going to die, no matter what. You need to realize that life is not always going to hand stuff to you! Sometimes, life sucks, and you have to deal with it. This is one of those times. Unfortunately, we are unlucky enough to have it cost us our lives. We can't do anything about it! You either come with me, or your death will just be slower and more painful," his father replied, not really worried about keeping his voice down. Noah stood up, and Callum sat there, eyes wide and jaw-dropped. His father was really leaving. "Goodbye, son. I love you," Noah said as he turned around, "be sure to wish me luck and pray for a miracle." Noah prepared for a long run, doing things like stretching. Callum tried to convince his father to stay, but it was no use. After a few minutes of loosening his muscles, his father took off at an incredibly fast pace. A few moments later, a growl, the sound of flames, a scream, then silence. Callum was alone.
  4. Part III: The Great Abandoning of Kamaria "Father, I need to talk to you," Callum whispered. They had returned to Crandor for the evening. Callum and Noah were in a small hut that they had rented. It was a single room. Not very comfortable, but Noah believed it provided all of the necessities that they were to ever need while on the island. "Sure, Cal, what's up?" Noah responded, a smile on his face. "I overheard two of the surveyors. They were talking about some guy who was going to wake the dragon in the volcano," Callum said nervously. "Elvarg? Nobody would dare wake him, Callum. We've nothing to worry about," Noah replied confidently. "But Father, how can you be sure? I told you coming to this island was a bad idea," Callum murmured. "Just trust me, Cal. We're fine. If this island were destroyed, we could always go to Kamaria - we have most of the first half of the island mapped," Noah reassured him, "It is very late, Callum. We should be getting to bed. Tomorrow, we plan to finish mapping the first half of the island." Callum knew that arguing with his father would do him no good, so he changed into his pajamas and got into the very hard, uncomfortable bed. He wondered if it were better to sleep on the floor, but was asleep before he knew it. Callum had a terrible nightmare that night. They were hiding from Elvarg, but it saw them. Elvarg chased them around the island blowing large amounts of fire. Everybody died except Callum and his father. They were both eventually trapped by the great beast, and the moment Elvarg cut into Callum's skin, he woke up. His father was already awake, getting ready for another day of work. It sounded like he was whistling - a tune that Callum remembered from his very early childhood. Before his mother died, she would always sing it to him before he went to bed. He realized how much he missed her. "Morning, Cal. Today's the day!" Noah shouted with joy, "After today, we'll be at the half-way mark!" Callum stood up and glanced around the room. Memories of last night's conversation flooded back into his mind. Noah and Callum met up with two of the other surveyors, and they began chatting with Noah about work-related stuff. Callum recognized one of the voices, and knew that it was Doli. He could now put a picture to the name; he was a tall, broad-shouldered guy. Someone you wouldn't want to mess with. How could he be so scared of a dragon? It seemed more likely that he would kill it first! The four of them got on the boat and met up with Ramus. Callum went down to the lower decks and sat by himself. He was quite tired. Within a short period of time, they arrived at the island, and began work as usual. Callum went off by himself again, except this time he went past the tunnel, which he had named the Underground Tunnel, and went to the southern end of the island. The beach was beautiful in the early hours of the morning. Callum realized he was the first human being to ever walk on it. In fact, he was the first human being to ever walk on the southern half of the island. He then thought about Elvarg. Would he live to be recorded in the history books? Would anything on the island be saved? If Elvarg were to destroy the island, would all documentation of Kamaria be destroyed with it? Most likely. What would become of Kamaria? If Callum stayed on Kamaria, would he survive if Elvarg were to attack? And, what if Elvarg did not attack? Would he have to spend the rest of his time on the island? It was too much to think about, so Callum just laid down on the beach and stared into the clouds, letting the day go by. Callum began to dream again. This time, he was a much older man, all by himself. He was on Kamaria. He was calling out, hoping for a reply from anyone - anything. He wanted more than anything to be back on Crandor - if it even still existed. Did Kamaria exist? How come he was all alone? Then, a shout. "Callum! Callum! Come on, Callum!" It was his Father. The day had already passed. As Callum opened his eyes, the sun blinded him - it must be soon, he thought. He walked towards his father, and they followed Doli and the other man back to the primary dock. They all got on the boat, and Callum retreated to the lower decks as usual. As each day passed, Callum felt farther and farther from his father. He hadn't really said anything to him since they first arrived on Crandor, and that one conversation they had what seemed like so many nights ago. Callum then began to let questions fill his mind, in an attempt to summarize his time on the island. How long had they been there? How much of Kamaria had been mapped? How much of it was left? Did they get the Underground Tunnel? He went on and on. "Captain! Look ahead!" Ramus shouted. Suddenly, the upper decks exploded with gasps, screams, and questions. Callum jumped, and had a feeling he knew what they were gasping at. He walked towards the ladder and climbed it. He stood on the upper deck, and looked toward Crandor. They were very close to it. Callum had no trouble making out the figure of a giant green dragon, swooping down on the island, destroying the beautiful buildings. Callum pointed out the shack he had visited on his first day there - it had been burnt to a crisp. People on the island were screaming and running around, gathering everything they could get their hands on. Many got into the ocean to swim away, but were burnt by Elvarg before they got through 5 meters of the ocean. "I told you, Father," Callum whispered to his father, who was right next to him. "Callum, we'll be fine. It is really unlikely Elvarg will notice us," his father replied, trying to comfort him. "Captain! We cannot return to Crandor!" Callum heard one surveyor shout. It sounded like he was crying. Ramus turned to the man who had shouted, and told him that they did not have the proper supplies to go to an alternate destination. They would have to dock, no matter what. This is when Callum began to panic. So did many others. "If you do not reroute the ship, I will abandon you!" the surveyor said to Ramus. Many others murmured or nodded in agreement. "I will not change course, sir! Do not ask again!" Ramus shouted. Many things happened all at once. The first surveyor, who Callum did not recognize, jumped into the water. Many people gasped, but others jumped in as well - Callum recognized Pan and Doli being two of them. "Father, we must jump! We must save ourselves! Ramus does not care for us!" Callum shouted to his father. "Callum, no! We must stay loyal to Ramus and earn what we have worked for! We are so close to being free of all of our debts!" his father replied, seeming a bit hysterical. "Father, I am jumping! Whether or not you come with me is your decision!" Callum screamed. He was now crying. Callum took one final look at his father. One final look at Ramus, who he now despised. He took one last look at the boat - at the lower decks which he had spent so much time in. He was right. His dream was not just a dream, but it was a vision. Callum had seen this coming, and tried to warn his father in an attempt to save them both. Now, he was saving himself, and was not sure if his father would join him. If this meant losing his father, he could not stand it. "No, Father, you will come!" Callum said, now crying very profusely. Callum ran at his father, who seemed to be surprised by the sudden change in attitude - he had gone from wary to 'join-me-or-die'. Noah knew that Callum was trying to save him, and because of that, he did not move. Callum jumped at his father, knocking them both into the cold waters.
  5. Part II: The Second Day of Peace The second day they were on the island, they took a ship over to the island they were going to be mapping. The island had been dubbed Kamaria, inspired by the Kandarin kingdom, which was where most of the surveyors came from. Noah and Callum were the two of the few people who came from Asgarnia. Others came from Crandor itself, and other surrounding islands. The trip to Kamaria wasn't a long one, and, unlike the trip to Crandor, the weather was great. Two hours had barely passed and they were getting off of the boat. "A beautiful island, eh Ramus?" one of the surveyors said to another. "Certainly is. Never see these kinds of trees in Kandarin," another surveyor, probably Ramus, replied. Callum did not plan on actually doing any work, so he seperated himself from the other workers and began to explore the island. It was beautiful. Various birds and plants covered the island, many that Callum had never seen before. There were plenty of places to just sit back and relax. It was hard for Callum to pick a favorite spot, but he eventually settled in an area just a little south of the center of the island. Callum quickly fell into a deep slumber. Not even a storm could wake him! When Callum woke, he had no clue where he was. He then remembered that he was no longer a farmer. He was now the son of a great surveyor, mapping a once uncharted island called Kamaria - quite impressive. He stood up, and stared around. The sun was high in the sky. It must have been noon, but Callum felt like he had been sleeping for much longer. He began to explore the rest of the island. Callum walked toward a rocky mass. It turns out that it was a cave, so, full of curiosity, Callum stepped inside. The cave was pretty small, and Callum had to duck. It seemed to be more like a tunnel. Callum heard people talking above, so he stopped and remained silent to eavesdrop on their conversation. "Doli, did you hear the rumors going around on Crandor? About that one crazy dude?" one man said. "Of course - they were buzzing like bees about it. People say he is going to slay the dragon in the volcano. Ha, he won't last a minute one-on-one with it," the other man, distinguished by a much lower voice, replied. "If he wakes that thing up, the whole island is f***ed," the first voice murmured. A chill went down Callum's spine. Could the island be destroyed by just a single dragon? Callum thought about it. The island wasn't that big. He figured that it would be quite possible. "When did they say he was going to try?" the lower voice asked, something that sounded like a bitter-sweet laugh trailing at the end of his question. "Some have said two days, others keep saying three. Heck, it could be tomorrow, Doli. Coming to this island was a mistake. No matter what day it happens, we'll be here, and most likely, we'll be destroyed with the rest of the islanders." Callum pictured a dragon flying over Crandor, breathing fire on everyone and everything it sees. Definately not something Callum wanted to experience first-hand. He must tell his father, so they can get off the island before it is too late. Crandor and Kamaria
  6. This piece of 'fan fiction' is based on actual documented events in the world of RuneScape. Whether something like this actually occured or not is impossible to tell. Why, you ask? Read the story. THE LOST FARMERS OF CRANDOR ISLAND Part I: The Arrival The night was a cold one. The rain was fierce. The spirits were low. Noah and his son Callum were sitting in the lower decks against the wall of the ship. You are probably wondering two things: why they are there, and where they are going. Right? Right. Well, I'll tell you. Noah, a farmer, well known for his 'garden art', was selected to join an exclusive team of surveyors to venture to an uncharted island south of Crandor, and map it. The only reason Noah accepted the offer was because the pay was excellent, and with the money, he could pay off his debts. Callum, unlike his father, had no debts and did not want to go at all. He had tried to convince his father that they would be able to get out of their debts without traveling so far over seas. His father, however, disagreed. They had been in the boat, which was called The Lady of Asgarnia, for so long, they had no clue how close they were to the island. The only people on the boat were Captain Dominique, Pan, the watchman/entire crew, Noah, and Callum. Nobody really talked, and the rare occurence of a conversation was instantly put to rest by boredom and fatique. Callum and Noah hadn't slept at all since they boarded the boat. They were sure that Dominique and Pan had not slept either. It was too hard. Anyway, Noah and Callum were sitting down in the lower decks when they heard a loud bellow. It was Pan. "Land, [garden tool], Captain!" Callum's eyes shot open and directed themselves to the ladder leading to the high deck. He stood up and walked over to it. It was a cheap ladder, and Callum always feared coming down to the lower decks because he thought it might break, and then they would be stuck down there. He didn't care, for this time would be the last time he climbed the ladder. He climbed it - surprisingly, it held strong. Callum was slightly impressed. He gazed down into the lower deck. His father looked like he was just waking up from a deep sleep. "Father! We're almost to Crandor!" Callum shouted to his father. Noah, like Callum, stood up and climbed the ladder. They stared out into the distance. It was faint, but Callum could see a large land mass beginning to take shape. Finally, he said to himself. The mass grew larger, and larger. It became more clearer as well. Callum could see the many docks, filled with people buzzing about. Excellently-designed wooden buildings stood tall and were very beautiful. Perhaps staying on Crandor wouldn't be so bad. The Lady of Asgarnia eventually docked at the island, and Callum jumped off, full of excitement. Noah came next, followed by Pan, then Dominique. Bystanders looked at them. What were mainland farmers doing on a small tropical island meant for businessmen? Some stared, full of curiosity. The rain had eased up, and Noah let Callum explore the island while he met with the other surveyors. The island was even more beautiful when the rain stopped. The sun created beautiful rainbows with the moist air. Most of the residents were very friendly, except a shop keeper who shoo'd him out because he was too young, and the shop keeper thought he would cause trouble. The nerve of some people, right? Callum made a mental note saying never to visit the man again. That is all I have at the moment. It is now time to retire to bed.
  7. INTRODUCTION Hello Tip.It. I am known on RuneScape as St_Vars (or St V*** to some). I've attempted many times to create and maintain a blog that depicts my experience in RuneScape, but I usually got off track and forgot about them. Hopefully that won't happen again, right? Anyway, I am, at the moment of me typing this, 52 combat. See my stats as of this day (with monthly updates) in the Pictures section. I originally started playing RuneScape around 2004-2005, but I have never really stuck to a single account. I've always grown bored of one and moved to another. This blog will show you every goal of mine in RuneScape, as well as other documents, which I call Live Feeds, that follow my actions step by step in an 'in character' fashion. I will also be buying and selling stuff from time to time, if you have what I am looking for, or are interested in something I'm selling, just PM me (St_Vars) in game. I hope you enjoy the blog!
