  5. [hide]Ok, KHS. Believe it or not, some people don't have word 2010, and therefore can't open a .docx. In fact, more than half the computers in your own building don't have Word 2010. So why would you send things in that format? Especially when you can just post in on the website designed for it? You know, the one you uploaded the document to so we could get it? Also, I'm going to have to start my research paper ridiculously early now. Argh.[/hide]
  6. [hide]My back really [bleep]ing hurts.[/hide]
  7. [hide]Today, a kid tried to argue with me that being gay was a sin according the bible. He told me a verse to look at. I told him that you shouldn't take everything in the bible literally. He was like, yes you should. I asked him about unicorns. He got all offended. I looked up his verse when I got home. It didn't relate.[/hide]
  8. Sometimes I really hate people. Really.
  9. I dunno Halo. I'm not sure Death can rank above me. I mean, he's close, and maybe it's my inner narcissist, but I'm pretty sure I'm sexier than him.

  24. Someone want to look at this and tell me how to make it less shitty? [hide] Analytical Reflection: There are many pressing national and international public policy issues that society faces at the beginning of the 21st century. Select one you feel passionate about and tell us why you believe it is significant and then propose a strategy to address the issue. (limit 300 words/2000 characters) The United States military presence has run on for 10 years now, and have proved a large drain on resources for what seems, at times, like little result. The significance of this comes in part from the cost of the war. The money spent on the Iraq war alone exceeds $1.2 trillion, which is no small sum. In addition to the cost, most, if not all, of the United State's goals have been achieved. Sadam Hussein has been removed from power for many years, and the democracy instituted in his place is an excellent start for the country. Finally, the US provides stability for the region. However, Iraq can't simply rely on the US military to supply defense, and needs to organize its own forces. The third point in particular makes simply pulling out of Iraq a difficult proposition. The United States has made a large investment in Iraq, and having that investment be fruitless doesn't seem very smart. The obvious answer to this is to not leave immediately, but to reduce the military presence of America, while increasing Iraq's army and police capabilities, so that they can defend themselves. The reduction of American troops will force Iraq to create their own forces to maintain peace and stability. By providing training and support, America can ensure that Iraq is ready to protect itself when America leaves completely. Obviously, the issue is more complicated than this, and many more details would have to be specified, but as a general strategy this would help to reduce the cost of the war, helping the US to get back on its feet at a time it needs to the most.
