The thought is that you have to know how to play stuff from a ton of instruments and you have to be able to read everything and keep time.

Wait, aren't you a percussionist in Band? I thought you had to have like 2 years of piano before you could do percussion stuff. At least that's what it is where I live.

I feel like playing the piano would be a lot like typing once you got it down. Or at least that it's hard until you learn all the finger movements, then you can do it always and forever.

Nah, I'm not bad at chords. Just bad at everything in general. Plus if I got an electric, I'd feel compelled to take lessons. And meh, no drive for that.

I kinda want an electric guitar. But seeing as I suck I don't really. Edit: @ Halo: I like 90 minute classes because it means I only ever get homework in 3 classes max. Because I always take an elective and no electives really give homework.
