  1. I'd like to point out that last year, my parents were divorcing, so I was averaging 82/83 in Honors/AP Courses. This year I've been averaging 87-92 in honors classes. Hopefully my GPA should be much closer to a 4. I'd like to go to Rice because that's where my girlfriend is going, but the double major program at Reed (biochemistry and molecular biology) is really tempting. As for recommendations, I was actually planning on getting one from my freshman english teacher, my sophomore/senior World history/Euro teacher, and my current physics teacher. I could expand (ie Orchestra Director all 3 years, Biology teacher freshman year, my current PreCal teacher. Auto-Admission to UT Austin for my graduating class is 9% (so I think 60+ class rank is right). I just need to focus on my schoolwork and stop stressing about it.
  2. Regions I'd like to study in: Texas, SW, West Coast, Northwest. My UW GPA should be going up a lot, I had a really bad year last year because of my parent's divorcing. But this my grades are improving a lot (my class rank should go up, a lot of people aren't taking the courses I am). My school is really competitive. I don't understand the whole concept of "reaches". Baylor, Reed, Rice and UT Austin are all schools I like. Oh, and as for college experiences... I'm not one for huge sports teams, I'm kind of a recluse. My friends note me for really witty humor and über liberal viewpoints. I plan on maintaining my current relationship in college, and have no interest drinking. I guess. I'm not really going to be a "frat boy" I'm not looking for a party school. I really love genetics, and I want to focus on my school work with a smaller group of friends. Oh, and I refuse to go to an ultra religious school or a really conservative school. Because of my personal opinions, which is why I'm incredibly drawn to Reed. :)
  3. Haha! That's great. :D And, if I'd get into an Ivy League, I'd definitely apply. :)
  4. My english teacher next year is scottish. I'm looking forward to the England v. Scotland arguments. :)
  5. Oh, I've been interchanging college/university. :) And, I don't mind where I study. Just not somewhere too cold. I hate the cold. :P
  6. Oh. I was hoping to study microbiology/genetics. Preferably get my master/PHD and then move on to research. :) And, Asian Culture Club is a club founded by a good friend of mine to discourage prejudice. Basically, we learn other cultures. :) @RPG, what do you mean "too smart for college"? :P
  7. I'm an English citizen, living in the US. I'm white/caucasian. I'm also a junior. GPA: 3.61 UW (4.0) 4.83 W (5.0) Class Rank: 47/719 Junior Year: AP English Language/Comp, AP Spanish 4, AP US History, Pre Cal Honors/DualCredit, Business Information Management, Orchestra, Physics Honors. Senior Year (prospective): AP English Literature, AP Spanish 5, AP Euro, AP Govt., AP Econ., AP Calc BC, Orchestra, AP Bio II. PSAT is 201. Averaging 700s in all subjects on practice SATs. SAT in March. ECs: JV Soccer, 9,10 [stopped because our head coach retired] Chamber Orchestra, 9-12 Eagle Scout Sea Scout Ship Leader National Honor Society 10-12 Spanish NHS 11-12 Key Club 11-12 Math/Spanish/Science Tutor 9-12 Board member of 501c3 charity Semi-professional video game player (lols?) Attended genetics internship with Dr. Craig J Venter [human genome] Asian Culture Club 10-12 Primary interests in Genetics/Microbiology. Desired colleges (greatest to least) Rice Uni/Reed College, Baylor/UT Austin, somewhere else? I'm having a lot of trouble deciding/knowing where I should apply, because both of my parents went to college in the UK. Potential hook (?): My dad went to a Polytechnic college in the UK (received Bachelor's). My mom went to a cc for nursing (associates). Does this make me a first generation university student? Anything else? Thanks :) ----EDIT----- Regions I'd like to study in: Texas, SW, West Coast, Northwest. 8. Yeah. I most definitely will farm. I'm going to quest a lot to unlock all the teleports/patches. So I can farm all the time :)
  9. It's not that I'm runecrafting for cash. I'm runecrafting for the runes. :P I've always been stubborn, like if I need 200K pure ess. I'll mine the equivelant in Iron to get more exp in less time. While still ending up with my desired levels. On that same note, I hadn't thought of doing death runes. I'll definitely hop over to them at 65. I'm going to do Wolf Whistle now, so I can start using Lamps/Books/Penguins etc on it, and I suppose I'll abyss it up. As for combat training, I'm only a member because I like to slay. Which slayer master should I do. I really like Vannaka, but I get assignments like Green Dragons and Crocodiles, and because of my low levels, I can't block them yet (plus I'd probably be blocking more annoying tasks at that point anyway).
  10. Hey all. So I want to start Spririt Graahk crafting in order to facilitate my goal of 99 Fletching/Magic. I need like 190K natures, which will get me to 79 RC :) Anyway, I'm 56 Magic at the moment, with 55 Attack 60 Strength and 40 Defense. So I can't Abyss craft, because Abyssal creatures will wtfpwn me. But, with such low combat stats it's difficult to get a lot of charms. Here are some of my pro skill stats: What would be the best way for me to go from 1 - 57 Summoning, and how should I gather the charms to do so? Oh and I have 60 Zeal :P Thanks :) -Knotch
  11. My friend and I were chatting, and I said that 99 Slayer was the hardest 99 to achieve in the game, as of right now (excluding SW). He said it was really easy to train, I don't disagree, but he thinks it is fast. He claims Agility is the slowest 99, for sure. I know he is wrong, but what are your thoughts?
  12. Pi is right. It's how I've been training my character... besides the urge to firemake. Quest. Get stats to Quest. Repeat til satisfied. Farming for cash, helps pay for skills like FM/Fletching etc... I'd recommend getting your Agility up a bit. Really speeds things up (lolz). Also, train Slayer... A lot. Good fun way to train melees, and you profit quite a bit. Oh, and do some Runecrafting, again good money. Basically, if you have a high income/cash pile... good things happen. ;)
  13. I'm extremely bothered by how much some of you all know about the intimate details of all of this.
  14. Yup, exactly what Bows said. I wouldn't recommend stockpiling it however, in the recent Behind the Scenes, they said there will be more rune rocks added. Unless Jagex is going to create more necessity for Rune ores, the price will just drop more... So I'd recommend selling before the update :P
  15. Okay. I'll check it out. Crafting amulets now :D
  16. Hi all. So I want to get 60 - 65 - 60 Melee Stats before making the jump to Members. How? And I'd like to go from 38 to 61 Range. How? And then, what crafting level is recommended (skills/items) for making the jump to P2P, and how should I do it? Yeah, I've got some cash... but I wouldn't complain if I could make small profit/break even. :] Thanks :D ~Knotch
  17. Stiles = Worst update ever. And noob botters who sell for minimum for cheap cash, in total disregard for the economy. Bots and macros are important to the economy, so much raw resources... but crashing the market is ftl.
  18. 666 posts Geesch. :P Yeah, I mean I've done a lot of P2P before. But I definitely plan on getting high agility (up to Ape Atoll course) and then fletching all the logs I have, before doing anything major. Probably, do some thieving/herblore for quests then Slayer for Combat/Charms... All while farming ;) Construction is a far way off. :P
  19. This is my plan. All F2P quests done. 60 - 65 - 60 Melees. With cash to buy armour as soon as I can. 50 Range. For Ava's Accumulator so I don't waste arrows. 70+ Magic. Superheating Iron. XX Prayer. I'm going to kill Green Dragons, or save up cash to either Ecto or Altar to 52/60. 80 Woodcutting. Just 'cause. 99 Firemaking. Because it's easy, and I'll have the logs/cash. 70+ Mining. Superheating Iron/Rune Essence for 1-44 Runecrafting. 70+ Smithing. Superheating Iron 70+ Fishing. For Monks when I get P2P, Lobsters/Swordies for cash. 70 Cooking. Because I already have it. 44 Runecrafting. For leet nat craftin skeelz. In my bank: All the vials/seconds for 1-(insert quest req.) Herblore All the logs for 1-70 fletching. 46 Dungeon for Bonecrusher :D Sounds good?
  20. Epic win. 1000th post. Anyway... I was looking for a crash course through Dungeoneering, I've read the Rune Wikia article about it. And I would love some tips/strategies to maximise my experience and yadda-yadda.
  21. Isn't my first rodeo, this is like my sixth P2P account. I just don't want to get there and do easy ass stuff when I get there.
  22. Yeah I know. :P I'm sure my dad will let me .
  23. She's an ICU nurse, and claims it'll screw my heart up. I could understand creatine and other "unnatural" supplements being labelled as dangerous, but it's a milk by-product. I see no problem. I'll try and get her to cave.
