  1. How long would mining 500 runite ores take? :XD: Sorry for the extreme question. :P ~Knotch
  2. Well, If I only see it as a long term goal to 90. I will feel more accomplished, and then I'll set a goal to 92... then to 95... then to 99. And when I reach each goal I'll have more urge to complete the next part, and it seems like less mining to do, if I do it in bits. :P ~Knotch
  3. Eww... Go To Fun Orb please. :) Further reason to destroy you in our epic mining battle. :) ~Knotch
  4. Oi. I mined me some of that blew ore. Atom thinks I'm using SC because I'm leveling so fast. :XD: ~Knotch
  5. No need to mention the fact that you had the best time of your life rick rollin' noobs while mining rune ore. :( 3 Knotch
  6. Just before I left the quarry I logged in and met a good friend of mine, :) I don't have time for SC. I <3 my Rune Pickaxe. :) 85 Mining achieved, Thanks Rsw & Ever for coming :) I can mine Rune Ore now :) My first Rune Ore (I mined 5 total). Met a Rev Imp, he gave me some Str Exp :) Met a Rev Knight, he was nice. :) Rsw died from my Knight friend, but he left a nice message :P This Rev. Ork was nice enough to pose for you guys here at TiF. :) Knotch
  7. Lolol... I completely forgot I have my soccer referee-ing certificate. :P ~Knotch
  8. That's all I want :) I'm going to try and convince my mom/dad, they're independent so I can hopefully conquer them both. :D ~Knotch
  9. I cook, mow the lawn, laundry, and do most of the cleaning, on top of getting straight A's in all honours classes and being in the top 30 of 750 in my class. The freedom to buy some MSPts or a new iPod would be nice :P ~Knotch
  10. Dizzle agrees. 2 signatures are not needed, and besides, we see your name to the left of your post, we know who you are. Also Dizzle says that pocket money is useful to buy candy contrary to what pureprayer said. Oh candy buying is great if you have money. Lets not get too much into a discussion on candy though. Uh, I've been doing this on multiple forums for quite a while, inspired by a mod who helped me out a lot during early 2003, here on TiF, who has since retired. As for money, I don't have a computer of my own, and I can't transfer my work between all three of the houses I stay at. And I can't eat candy, I have really soft enamel on my teeth, I'd rot from eating a few pieces. ~Knotch
  11. Texas, everyone uses cheap mexican labour, and it doesn't snow. :) ~Knotch Hah, been there, done that. I'm a Freshman in High School, 9th grade. However, I'm a year younger, but a hell of a lot more mature than most people in my class. My goals are to be able to go out to the movies/dinner with my friends/girlfriend and buy small things; i.e. new shoes, or top-"Knotch" soccer cleats :XD: or buy an iTunes or Microsoft Points card from my local grocery. But I have some larger goals, my parents are divorced, so I can't ask for large gifts i.e. laptop for my birthday/xmas because they have split incomes (actually my dad pays for both him and my mom/siblings, until January of next year, regardless she gets a legal allowance from him.) So I want to be able to save up to buy a decent laptop, not a MacBook but not a uber bad one either. For example if they were set in levels "Easy" "Medium" "Expert" I'd go for medium. I also want to upgrade my slowly failing 1st gen iPod mini to an iTouch. I can ask for cash for my birthday to push me to goals, but I can't ask for the gift itself. Our local community college does a daycare thing in the summer, where they take "camp-like" classes and I can work there for a few grand next summer, but I can only volunteer there this summer, even though I have friends who'll work there this year. :( Hope this helps you guys in aiding my situation. :) ~Knotch Being a Freshman, would advise not getting a job. This mainly goes for part time jobs, as I can't see mowing a lawn or shoveling a driveway getting in the way of school, but other types of jobs do. Well, you may think, "It's not as if I'm doing anything in my free time anyways," or "I'm going to have to sacrifice somethings in order to fit my job, but I believe the benefits outweigh the negatives." I've also been though that - getting a job as a freshman - and it didn't work out so well. I, like yourself, wanted to spend my own money with my friends and on material investments which I could call toys; something I wanted rather than needed. But I quickly saw that my grades were beginning to decrease. Yet, my time before a job was spent freely and outside, the last of which studying. So I asked myself, "What changed? Why did my grades go down?" I'm not sure I have the answer but I think I spent a bit to much time in class calculating my savings and the materials that followed. That said, I wouldn't advise getting a job until you're past your freshman year. But I'm certainly not going to deter you from leaning such a value as effort and I am not going to question your circumstances. :) Right now you're in the borderline of ages acceptable in the workplace. Because legally you're allowed to work at any non-agricultural job (which I just noted because I think you can work agriculturally at a younger age, though I am unsure) yet some employers refuse to hire teenagers under sixteen years of age. So go local, as others suggested. Put up fliers with your number telling others that you'll mow their lawn, fix their computers, walk their dogs, wash their cars, powerwash their driveways, paint their houses, fix their roofs, wash their animals, or whatever else you can come up with. I picked fruit at a local plantation at that age, which by the way, I got fired from for throwing fruit with another guy, solving my grade issues. If you're just trying to get around your parents, ask to sit down and talk with them about your situation. Or more manipulative, tell them that you see into their game of tease and free labor (heh). Haha, I'll try that. Thanks Laura. :) Btw, I like the new haircut. ;) ~Knotch
  12. Uhm go Halo 3? Get a sentinel beam and spawn camp 'em or get a needler and kill the Fat Kid... duh...
  13. Texas, everyone uses cheap mexican labour, and it doesn't snow. :) ~Knotch
  14. @ almost everyone :P; I ask my parents to pay for [something] and they won't do it, however I ask to earn money, and I don't get paid. I try to work, I'm too young. 15. The sophomore class (15-16) has over 700 people. There are very few places where I can work. I've tried. :) ~Knotch @Laura +1 :)
  16. Yea, I cleaned the house, washed the car, walked the dog @ 4 am. I got diddly squat. @indy500fan, Aren't they supposed to clothe, feed, and shelter their children, by law? Did you learn how to budget money in your teen years... Also, I'm 14, but I'm a freshman, this summer all my friends are working, and I'll be broke while they're out having fun... I need some source of income, but I can't legally work. Honestly, I'd be satisfied working at our local ice cream parlor for just above minimum wage over the summer, but I can't... :( ~Knotch EDIT: @ Racheya Lol :) EDIT 2: @ Tripsis yea, I've been trying to get an iPod touch because my first gen iPod mini just broke. I get things at x-mas/b-day. But my birthday is in October, so it's wait for it... wait for it... Birthday... X-mas... wait... It's small things like saving up for a Laptop/iPod or buying 1600 MS pts or renewing my XBL subscription that I want to be able to do myself, without the hassle of my parents. :XD: EDIT 3 (ROFL): Yea, I wish I could get a job
  17. I'm 14 and I'm trying to get an allowance from my mom/dad. I was wondering, as I'm not legally allowed to work, what did you do @ 14 to earn money? And how much did you earn? I've read that some parents give 100USD per month to their kin for them to pay for almost everything, buying lunches at school/clothes/yearbooks etc. My mom says if I do "x" chores she'll buy me stuff, but she never follows through, I'd like to have some control over what I can buy and when I can buy it. And any ideas on how to get past the "You do chores and I'll buy you what you want" scam? ~Knotch
  18. I be a NewBEE CrewBEE \! What rhymes sticks and is kind of sappy? It's my friend the Lady of Happy. The challenge is accepted my friend, your lose shall be the end? :) ~Knotch (I consider the consonance of B as a rhyme)
  19. Lawl... Dude I'm a faster miner than you. :) I'm going to have 86+ by Monday. :) ~Knotch EDIT:
  20. Tell him exactly why, and then tell him to cut the crap if he makes himself the victim. Well, I knew how to tell him, I just wanted to know if it was possible to do it w/o hurting his feelings. I really don't want to break my bond with my dad. ~Knotch
  21. Okay I did the same test at my mom's house who pays for the same thing... She lives about a block away. :P ~Knotch
  22. Uhh... I'm pretty social I go to all the school dances and I do a lot of stuff during the week. But I hate weekends, my parent's divorce constantly screws me in the [wagon]. My dad has a new girlfriend with a 4 and 6 year old sons and so I'm dragged along to w/e the hell they want to do, and my mom studies and doesn't have time to drive me around. So the weekends are usually my R & R; I get a lot of sleep. However, I do go out on dates with my girlfriend etc. But none of my friends come over to my house b/c the house smells like my moms smoking. Actually, I wasn't complaining about the Bio teacher, my old bio teacher was an amazing teacher, and all the classwork we did in her class was bonus pts on the test, in my new class it's all daily formative grades. @ killerbeer0/Lenticular_J I actually feel that way about my English/Spanish classes... as I felt about my Bio class last semester... I enjoy writing a lot, I'm quite creative and receive good grades on my essays. I'm also really talented in Spanish, and I get really [cabbage] pissed off when the valedictorian, who is in my class asks, "Is this on the quiz/test?" and my teacher says no so she starts studying for a different class; whereas I pay attention because one day I'd like to be fluent. As for biology, micro-biology i loved, but the macro-biology I hate. I like body systems/anatomy/health science but not animals/plants/fungi/protists. I also enjoy my Geography and my History classes, I've been around the world and I'm quite open-minded an I love learning about new cultures and their history. Geometry is a blow-off course, I can finish my homework while my teacher is teaching... Thanks for the advice. Most of this advice I'm not going to start applying 'til next year, I'm taking some on-line courses so I can take Orchestra, Soccer, and Spanish all through my senior year, so I'll get some practice then. Also, for anyone who actually reads this post, How would I go about telling my dad I don't like spending Sunday/Thursday nights with him? I've told him before but he makes himself the victim. And the reason is not because I don't like being with him, it's just that I hate having to have a random change in my routine every Thursday/ every other Sunday. Thanks alot everyone. :) ~Knotch
  23. I paid for the uber 1337 hyperspeed. :) It say's i'm noob for the upload too. ~Knotch
  24. Okay, so I was streaming the MLG Meadowlands competition, and it required a 1.5 mb/s internet connection for flawless viewing... They recommended this site for testing your speed. Well I was quite shocked at this summary I received... Why is my internet running at such a low level, compared to other users on my isp? Why does it say West Virginia average when I live in Texas? Why is my internet only slightly faster than the average African connection? ~Knotch P.S. The African comment isn't me being racist, the average according to the aforementioned site is 1.03 mb/s.
