  1. I can see what you mean. I wouldn't find anything against it being mentioned in a science class, and maybe even discussed, but it does seem quite impossible to test creationism, since it does deal with a higher being, of whom most people don't believe.
  2. Heh. I like to think. You make me think, which is fun, and which is why I respect you. You specifically said that you expected a post along the lines of "I have no idea because I'm not a believer and I don't feel what you guys do". Most of the posts here deal with what we feel. Since the physical evidence does not exist, we have to go to logic and feeling (faith). But that apparently is getting dull to you, but you can't expect more, as explained in my previous post.
  3. Creationism seems crazy, but so does the existence of an almighty God, yet many schools teach about religions and their origins, many of them having this crazy idea of a God at the center of their beliefs. On what basis do you think it shouldn't be taught as a science? People believe in it (not you obviously), but because the majority doesn't, it shouldn't be seen as a science? That is like saying teaching Islam (despite it not being a minority) as a religion in a religion class is absurd... I am not sure I get it.
  4. And someone who supports this will say: "So if they aren't enjoying life because they are in pain and in a coma, why should they continue living?" Gah, it never ends.
  5. How would teaching Creationism in class be different than teaching the origins and impacts of different kinds of religions? I know in my classes I learn about all types of religions, issues that involve them today and their impact on modern society, whether I like it or not. You could say the same thing with Creationism. One could learn a lot from studying it, such as the impact it had on people, and how it is different from other ideas of the beginning of life. 'Good' teaching involves looking at all points of view. Why not look at all the different ideas of how humans came to be? We'd all learn at least something from it.
  6. If you're tired of it, why even post? The physical proof that God is real (in order to convince all the atheists here) does not exist. If you are expecting physical proof, you aren't going to get it. Might as well quit discussing this whole matter if all the atheists won't relate to anything but physical evidence. It really gets on my nerves when someone asks me to try to convince them that God exists, I try, and they simply say, thats illogical, you can't prove it. If you want the physical evidence, find it yourself.
  7. I know exactly what you think Warrior, because I have the same thoughts. I just approach it in a way in which I justify the use of medicine because it prolongs life, which is usually seen as a good thing, while using it to end life isn't as good (though some can argue it is (but in general, death has a negative connotation)). That's the way I differentiate between Euthanasia and using medicine to prolong life.
  8. The message has some advantages and disadvantages: Actually, to be honest, I can't think of any advantages. I was literally typing out that a person could think, I shouldn't be worrying about all the bad things I do in life. I should just live it. Yet, that seems like a sad approach to life. Another person could think, Hell, there probably isn't. I might as well go out, party, get drunk, have sex, and all that jazz while I am alive. I won't get another shot at it. It wouldn't get me to think at all; unless it provides a link to an atheist site or something, I would just see it as a poor attempt to advertise the idea of atheism.
  9. Most of the Bible is not literal. If [utopian] thought that even after reading all the parables, I am not sure you should even be discussing this. Secondly, God is not all about fairness or equality, but justice. God judges your salvation according to your actions, beliefs, and, to say it in a general fashion, your background. An isolated tribe in South Africa that has no knowledge of modern civilization or God, and that takes part in things such as cannibalism will not get the same treatment as a working person in the city. God will see that the cannibalism in the tribe is not a sin because the people in the tribe had no knowledge of it being wrong. Sin has three requirements: it has to be intrinsically evil action, the person has to know it is wrong, and they have to do it on their own accord. If a person has never been introduced to God or Christ, God will judge that person accordingly. It will be much different that the judgement of a person who did know of God. And Utopian, I don't think this is a place to quote the Bible and point out Saruman's sins. That's just pretty damn stupid.
  10. Congrats on 17 mil hunter exp. :)
  11. Be careful. He may pick up on it if he sees that the whole History is gone everyday, and he isn't the one deleting it. Good to hear you found a loop-hole. :D
  12. I referred to your point on the previous page. I really don't understand how they differentiate between using medicine and euthanasia. It might all have to do with their views on the intent of each use of "medication".

  18. The Catholic Church teaches against (not so much from the Bible) assisted suicide because the person is taking on the role of God and determining when someone should live and die. I agree with you in that I doubt there is anything concerning something similar to assisted suicide in a religious writing such as the Bible or the Qur'an. But its possible that religions oppose it not because of what those books say, but because its just what they teach against. I really don't know how to phrase it any differently.
  19. Errdoth, I believe you've solved the mystery! :P
