  1. People usually say the same reasons you cited: Too many young kids and the graphics are awful. Frankly, I would say it's the graphics, as there are young kids in many online games and it doesn't keep older players from liking a game. Even with the new HD update, Runescape is a long way from competing with old games like Lineage II which had such better graphics 4-5 years ago. I don't know if it's because Java limits graphic performance, but when I see that there are some games out there with incredible graphics, I do feel a little bad playing Runescape. It's as if we were playing in a game that would've been cool years ago; just not now. Thank god the game content is creative, original and fun!
  2. The profanity filter is useful, but it does star out many words for no reason. For example, you can't type mantas; instead it's always manta*. You can't even type certain normal usernames and you can't write "je" (french for I) without it being starred either... *what's wrong with je?* I've started questioning the whole filter, as it highly restrains communication in-game. Still, knowing there are many underage users on Runescape, I feel it should not be removed. I do suggest however that it be improved. Besides, if you want a serious discussion Runescape is certainly not the right place for it. If you want to talk about topics such as homosexuality and political opinions, it is best done in forums dedicated to the subject. Most people on Runescape are there to have a break from their normal everyday lives; they want to enter an online adventure (hence the "online adventure game" quote under Runescape). It's hard to escape when people start swearing, being offensive or rude. So in one way, the profanity filter is there to save the essence of the game.
  3. Because weird names are fun! We come to RS for a taste of something outside of the ordinary, it's simply normal people want to identify to what they are looking for. I've seen funky names like Baboonman, Asquirrelnut, Donutlover... They're random and amusing, always make me giggle. You should embrace the weird (the funky weird that is, not the creepy weird... :-s) That said, enjoy the diversity and creativity of people's names!
  4. I would have gotten another color! Otherwise, you should feel free to enjoy it. If you're not enjoying it or using it, then it's not a good buy. It's as if you went shopping for clothes and saw this really nice Armani suede jacket and bought it, but never wore it by fear of staining it or losing it. Why have bought it then? As suggested, invest your money in something more useful. Good luck! <3
  5. Yes I found him! A civilian much to the west wearing a green shirt. Thanks for the help!
  6. Hey there, I was wondering where I could trade my overgrown cat for runes, if I can even do that? What type of runes do I get in return? Thanks so much!
