After In Search of the Myreque, right behind the Hair of the Dog pub there's a trapdoor. Go through it and at the very end go through the door, it's a shortcut that shaves a good amount of time off of your journey. Make sure you take the boat as well.

And as far as I can tell, they don't scale...I get level 180+'s pretty often at (now) 114.
