Communal porn Reddits are honestly the best thing about the internet. Chip in like $5 and you get practically limitless content (and trust me the quality is worth the small price tag)

My, wet, friend was intrigued by this idea and requested I respond with this meme.

  2. Which company would that be?

(I think Saq just broke the record for biggest multipost)

Either that or he was just toggl-ing waiting for an answer.

    I'll see myself out...

  3. Just went out to a bar and got proper drunk for the first time since I turned 19. Pretty decent time and I still can't understand why you guys send [bleep]ed up messages when drunk. I'm typing sloppily but I notice my mistakes and correct them still.

    Drunk TIFing is best TIFing.

  4. Are you with your person and theres a serious problem that will likely only get worse?

Then you should probably break up

Are you single with a minimal friend group and you never go out and meet new people?

Then you should probably get a set group of friends who enjoy going out to places and try talking to new people when you are out

But you guys always give blanket advice and my situation is different somehow where neither of those statements are true.

That emptiness you feel after finishing a great book (series) or a tv show sucks

Or when there's one more book in the series and the author is taking his sweet time finishing it up...
Tell me about it! Can't think of any series like that right now though...
  6. Is the school aware of your restraining order? I'd think it would be pretty hard for this person to be employed at the same place as you if you have this restraining order requiring them to stay away.

Also, freaking cold. Was -26 here last night and meteorological station that's 1,6 km's away says it is -16.2 right now...

Canada is as cold as Estonia!? Its -16.1 here right now discounting wind chill.

And why the bloody [bleep] do you pay so much on health care? Do you get gold injected instead of physiological solution? Do you cover all your teeth in platinum? Do you create medicines from miracle weeds grown on the dark side of the moon?

We have the same equipment, the same medications and the same level of medical expertise in nearly the whole Europe. And why the heck should it cost so much more in the States of Trump?

For one, you can't deny emergency medical help. When a person is dying, he or she needs treatment and gets it, anywhere around the world. The costs are shared for the people who have insurance or have paid. You have a lot more people using emergency medical help if they cannot get help at the proper time when it isn't too late, however as they don't have insurance, they can't afford it.

I pay a small amount of tax for the healthcare of everybody in the country and I know that so far I am in the positive, by a lot. I got a $50K surgery (which costs just €2000 here) and my employer pays off a fraction of my salary, and I am okay with that. That thing goes automatically, I don't even have to think about it. I can visit my GP pretty much any day and not need to worry about costs and get an early idea when anything is not okay with my health. Also, we now have free dental care (up to a certain point).

You do know that it is cheaper to provide governmental housing for every homeless person than it is to keep them on the streets? The ER visits, crime, and cleaning for the people is more expensive then, for example, grant free access to the ghost towns in Detroit for example. It is pure greed and jealousy that makes you poorer. If you get homeless in America, you are screwed majestically in every single way.

A small. minuscule portion of my taxes goes to keep up homeless shelters. And I'm fine with that, as that means people don't start dropping dead on the streets when the colds or the heatwaves come.

[bleep], I do sound a bit commie. But I can't for the heck of me find any bad parts about that situation.

It's really hard for some people to want to subsidize others, especially when they're already living pay check to pay check. If you're in the working class and you can barely afford private health insurance, you probably aren't too eager to pay extra to cover your coworker's healthcare. Ideally, there wouldn't be a huge increase (or an increase at all) in taxes for people who can't afford it, but that's a problem that the millionaires in Washington don't want to solve.

Realistically though, that person no longer has to pay for private health insurance at that bracket because the increase in taxes they are paying would cover as much or more than the private insurance they are currently paying for.

  9. Do you even know how much free health care would cost in the US? Way more than it does in Canada or Europe. The Iraq War would not have payed for universal health care for any significant amount of time.

Not quite sure on this, Canada still manages to spend only 11% of GDP on healthcare vs the American almost 18%.

  10. We're really far off from a "one trial proves innocence or guilt" system. I'm not entirely convinced that's going to be possible ever, tbh.

That's why it's "my perfect world" idea, I realise that it I'd nearly impossible. However, in the case of somebody like the Charleston Shooter I think its pretty obvious where the guilt or innocence lies based on his own actions and statements.
  11. Didja know? Executing someone is a lot more expensive than life in prison. It costs more than letting the accused live in prison for the remainder of his days.

That's where the effciency comes in. Currently it costs more due to the multiple, multiple trials and appeals to try and ensure the person isn't innocent of the crime possibly taking years and a boat load of extra money. My theoretical system which really only works in a perfect world has the original trial to establish guilt/sentencing and only one more after a multiple life sentence is handed down to decide execution or not. Additionally, after the second trial execution would be within a timely manner, no more than a month and preferably days to 2 weeks.

  12. It's not even the possibility of them being innocent that bothers me. It's just kinda dumb to kill people in general.

I don't know, personally I'm for the death penalty but only from an economic standpoint and if it can be carried out efficiently. For example, with a person like the Charleston shooter who is clearly guilty and even admits it himself why shouldn't he receive the death sentence? The alternative option is that we, speaking generally for the tax paying people, bear the burden of supporting this man through his life and paying for all of his meals, medical visits, clothing, etc... He honestly has no chance at parole and would have received a sentence which would keep him in jail for the remainder of his living days anyway, so why prolong the cost?

That being said I feel like it should almost be more of a clause that can be provoked rather than a sentence to seek. Try the person for whatever crime they have committed, once it becomes clear beyond any shred of doubt - in this instance the accused's own admittance of guilt, especially with no remorse - that he was aware of his actions and that he will spend the remainder of his days in some form of incarceration, then the crown or another party could start a process to have him sentenced to death. I don't want innocent people, or people who truly regret their crime and may have another chance at life to die but even a jail sentence does nothing to a man who considers his actions right and won't take the time in jail to reflect on his crime or reform himself.

  13. Thanks for that RPG! Saq- Err, ahhh, Estonian Guy's post left a bit to be desired in the details department.

Speaking of that, just noticed that you need to update your signature.
