Relative to other bosses, he's very difficult, but overall he isn't hard (RS doesn't allow a lot of skilled fights because its basically clicking). It just takes a lot of focus, and brews  Isn't every computer game basically clicking? No, because on other games you click on the arrow keys... oh, wait. :P

Any good quest needs a good boss at the end. It makes the quest feel accomplished. :P Quests have bosses and will have bosses in the future, no matter what. This is a side quest for a new mahjarrat quest, obviously. I do see where you are coming from though. While they need a nice boss they need a story too. "Hey go kill Nomad, because he might be evil" "Ok" That's our big grandmaster storyline. Maybe i'm just old fashioned this way but I expect puzzles, plot, and hard fights in one. Thats not the storyline of the quest at all, and anyone who read the ingame storyline should know this. [hide=Story of Quest]Zimberfizz tells you Nomad has been sneaking out and coming back all shiny. He tells you to search his tent for clues and you find a trapdoor. Zimberfizz then tells you to go look whats under Soul Wars. You stumble accross Nomad as he comes running out after killing 3 Elite Dark Assasins. Nomad tells you to get out but instead we start looking around and end up destroying his lock mechanics in our quest to look around. We learn lots about his background before he challenges us to a duel because he thinks we are assasins sent by Lucien. In the end, we "kill" Nomad and Zimberfizz freaks out because he never wanted us to do that. After showing Zimberfizz Nomad's body, he gets a crazy idea about selling bottled souls and as we walk out, Nomad is suddenly standing then teleports out.[/hide] Im not saying there shouldnt be puzzles or a huge plot, because I love both those things as much as a good boss fight. If we killed Nomad and he DIDNT teleport away, but rather dissapeared into nothing after the quest, I would have been dissapointed. This quest, even though it didnt have a humungous plot like WGS did, opens up a whole new area for a new quest. We learn about the backstory of Nomad, his dislike for Lucien and his possible alliance with us towards accomplishing our goal of Killing Lucien. Ah, I misunderstood then. I personaly think its a good idea to make more challenging bosses as many people strive for challenges within the game. I do agree though that people who voice their opinions on a matter shouldnt be killed for saying whats on their mind. In this case, making the boss easier.

Hell Yeah! Any good quest needs a good boss at the end. It makes the quest feel accomplished. :P Quests have bosses and will have bosses in the future, no matter what. This is a side quest for a new mahjarrat quest, obviously. I do see where you are coming from though. Yeah a cape better then a trimmed skillcape, 400k+ exp and a new respawn point are lame rewards. We should just get the dragon kiteshield from the imp as a reward for no reason at all. That would have been a much better reward. [/sarcasm] Yak, Soul Split and overloads dont make much of a difference? Are you kidding me? It makes all the difference in the world. Its the main reason you dont understand what all the fuss IS about. Meow to you too. I think it was hard. Its probably the hardest fight ive done in RS. I admit I was struggling, it was anything but easy. Little support? Thats bull. There are lots of people helping out on this thread, giving strategies and inventory setups. I look forward to the challenge. :)

Harder than Nomad?
Because they are interesting and to many, they are the best part of the game. I could say why do people care so much about stupid PvP Worlds and Bounty Hunter but I accept that people like different things. I think if we ever fight Lucien, we might be powered by a powerfull artifact, but the battle will still be hard. If you remember in the chosen commander, we were in control of Zanik for a bit of the quest, maybe we will be able to control a mahjarrat for a future quest?

L. And when they release another incredibly difficult quest boss (Lucien?), what will they call the quest cape then? They will call the quest cape "God Slaying Cape". All the people who cant complete the quest because they dont like combat will whine like they are now while the players who completed it tell Jagex to not nerf it, just like now.

Oh no they di-int. Hope they dont ruin the core part of the quest. :-? Though with all the people whining about it being "too hard" on the rsof, it wouldnt surprise me if Jagex baby'ed them and gave in.

The -1 max hit attack isn't to bad, as the 75 attack is block-able if you hide behind the pillar. Without the -1 max hit attack it would be much to easy of a fight, so reducing it would take the challenge away! As for the clones, the real one is different. I don't wanna give to much away, but just look what clone hits you last. I'm sure you'll find he is the one your looking for ;) I wont say it is "easy", because I died myself 3 times (138 combat), but knowing what attacks he is going to use is more than half the key to winning. Avoiding both the mines and the 75 attack is a must or you will run out of food. And turn auto-retaliate off or you WILL die. Your kinda going against what I was doing. :P I ignored the mines as I didnt need to move and I tanked the 75 hits. I had auto-retaliate on because it makes it loads more easy when killing the clones right after the 75 hit. I did die 5 times, but I did all of what I said above on the fight when I won aswell.

Someone didnt complete the quest on their first try. :-w I tried deflect mage on my first 3 tries and it did deflect damage back at him, it just doesnt block the damage done to yourself. Heard from a few people vengeance and recoil rings dont work. Yep, I checked it out and vengeance and recoil did not work. I didn't try poisoning though, but I'm guessing that won't work as well. It would've been too easy with those forms of attack since he hits so high though, so Im glad they didn't work. I think someone posted a monster examine of Nomad earlier and it said he was immune to poison attacks. Correct me if im wrong.

Even though I beat him on my first try, he was most definitely not easy. There is no other quest boss fight like this. I was cavalier with my brew/restore ratio, so I nearly ran out of restores at the end. In addition, there were two instances where I was almost KOed once he started doing the 2x melee berserk. My biggest piece of advice is to take cover when he lays mines. Too many people tank his 75 damage attack, and as a result they struggle to beat him before they run out of brews. I tanked all his 75 hits and 95 hits on me. :P There is also a path out of the mine field. Heard about some people who ran to take cover from the 75 then ran over the mines and got ko'ed.

I think too many people are bragging about how "easy" this is. Its far from easy. I barely made it with 1 brew dose left. Dont say its hard and then change your mind after you kill him, saying he was easy. Makes you look arrogant. :P Ive wanted a soul wars cape since they released soul wars, so I love the reward. I also have enough zeal for an abyssal demon now (97 zeal after quest). Just need the head... We also got a new respawn point which drops you almost right by edgeville. How cant you like the rewards?

I DID IT@@@@@@@@@@@@@ After getting killed 5 times, I got him with 1 brew dose to spare on the 6th try. :) Overall, this quest took me about the same amount of time as WGS. Made a video aswell. :P Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here.

I havent gotten him to half health yet. I barely did once then ran out of brews (had full tortoise aswell as full inv except for 8 restores which I also used up.) So goodluck. :P

[hide]Actually, his max hit is 98 but that is because his special magic attack hits 1 hit below your base hp level. If you have 85 hp, his magic attack will hit 84. You are forced to eat untill your hp is atleast full though.[/hide]

The boss fight was just plain boring and wasteful and his 3 Gimmicks only make it worse. <_< Plain? He has a melee attack, a dark energyball and throws bombs on the floor.... Ive never seen that before in RS. O_o Boring? How do you make combat more exciting then this? :P Attack something then go read a forum thread for 20 seconds while the monster gets killed? Its the toughest battle ive fought and still havent completed.
