  1. Sneaky how they mention 25% off in the newspost when 80% of the things on sale are 10% off. Only the Assassin Pack, Banner, Gnome, Infernal and Pegasus teleports are 25% off. You then have Bank Boosters at 20% off and the rest is 10% off. I grabbed the Assassin pack and a teleport, but the rest doesn't appeal to me enough with only a 10% discount.

  2. Ya go head give me my hours back for old 99 rc:P Don't compensate them anything as they don't deserve it. It was the players choices to sit through the 5000 games knowing that.. they are wasting so much time on a game, and a game changes.

Greed and selfishness. You chose to do 99 runecrafting before it was updated, willingly wasting so much time on a game.

  3. Well, benefits are slowly getting worked into Solomon's. The pets forage, scavenge and bank stuff as well as pick up item drops so...

On the xmas event, was short and sweet. I kept the dalmatian in Varrock. Lil' elper. |^_^|

At the above; You can get Mince pies from single ones or mixing the two f2p ones (Green and Blue I believe).

Mixing green, blue and red gives a little wieldable mistletoe.

  4. In other words, don't include the base stats, as they are already calc'd when you enter the unit type and level.

frankly it complicates things though, if i just add the stats in straight i'd be over and done with, no squinting at the bonus breakdown

Initially I would agree, but that would require you to change the stats every time that specific member leveled. As it is now, you add the bonus and trait and from there on you only need to change the level for it to be correct.

It's brilliant though. That calc has helped me a lot.

  5. A Stray in a Manger (free players and members)

The stray dog of Varrock has been a flea-ridden, doleful-eyed RuneScape mainstay since 2007, but enough is enough: in the spirit of seasonal goodwill and festive charity, it's time to give the stray dog a home.

In this year's Christmas event - A Stray in a Manger - you'll help out a snow imp who's been assigned to running Pet Christmas in Santa's stead. He'll ask you to round up the stray dog of Varrock and three other transient pooches from around Gielinor, in order to imbue them with a sense of purpose: as his stand-in reindeer!

Once they've delivered presents to the pets of the world, you'll have the choice of which of the four dogs you'd like to take on as your own, and a choice of locations in which to establish a fixed address for your four-legged friend. You'll have up until the end of the year to decide which dog and which kennel location are for keeps. After that, they'll remain a persistent part of the RuneScape world, as you see it.

Your rewards will be a wearable Santa beard and a Gift of Giving. The Gift of Giving works in a similar way to the parcel in the party game Pass the Parcel: you can open it once and receive an item of decor for your kennel. You can then trade your Gift of Giving for one held by another player, and you'll both be able to open the next layer or wrapping for another item. If you're lucky, you'll reach the item in the centre, which can be either a cosmetic Santa sack item for free players or members, or - for members only - a wayward snow impling who can grant you bonus Hunter XP (see the Snow Implings section). If you get to the centre and your Gift of Giving disappears, or you lose it for any reason, you can always get another from the snow imp and carry on swapping.

The decorations come in five types - colour schemes, bowls, mats, toys and flea circuses - and each type has variations themed around Saradomin, Guthix, Zamorak and Zaros. There's even a 'Santa' title to unlock - usable only by members - if you can get hold of at least one of each of the following: a bowl, a mat, a toy and a flea circus.

    xmas-30171333.jpg

It's not possible to continually swap Gifts of Giving back and forth between the same two people, so get into the festive spirit and start swapping with as many people as you can!

    Snow Implings (members only)

Members will also be able to catch errant snow implings found flying across the world. These have no Hunter level requirement and can be caught bare-handed, but give a range of festive fare from previous Christmas events or kennel customisations in exchange for their freedom.

There's even a small chance that a captured impling will be one of the snow imp's wayward assistants. There are four of these, and each one is worth 50,000 bonus Hunter XP - stored and given out as you train - when handed back to their boss. They can also be found in layers of the Gift of Giving.

    Merry Christmas!

How to start A Stray in a Manger:

Speak to the snow imp just north of Draynor Village.

    Requirements:

    None.

    In Other News

    • Give an altogether less needy pet a home this Christmas, as Solomon's brings Special Pets into stock! Further details can be found at Solomon's General Store, or here.
    • You'll find Tradeable Gifts on the Squeal of Fortune from today until the end of the year, as well as through drops and skilling activities. Claim the rewards from these straight away, or gather them and trade them with other players to make collections for even greater rewards.
    • Most pets - including those with a Summoning requirement - no longer need food in order to stay with you. The only exceptions are cats from Gertrude, which will still run away if not fed.

    Solomon's Special Pets

    Greetings, adventurer!

Today I am proud to introduce to you a truly monumental release from Solomon’s General Store: Special Pets!

These astounding and faithful companions love to interact, both with other pets and - indeed - with you. Over time your new best friend will grow from baby to adolescent, and adolescent to adult, changing appearance and learning helpful tricks – such as picking up loot – every step of the way. There's no need to feed these fine creatures with ordinary food, as they will never run away. However, they will grow faster if you feed them with specialised treats, also available from Solomon’s General Store.

Once your pet has reached one of these life stages, you may switch between any of its unlocked appearances as you wish. Each of the three appearances has two emotes to go along with it, which may be seen by interacting with your new companion.

The loyal, formidable blazehound and the noble skypouncer are available now from my store, and there’s so much to say about them that I’d highly recommend investigating the Special Pets FAQ to get the most out of your new companion.

Do you have any queries regarding my distinguished boutique? I’m confident you’ll find an answer in my official store FAQ, found here.

If you’ve yet to visit my establishment, why not drop in and receive 200 RuneCoins absolutely free? Remember that if you wish to purchase additional RuneCoins, you can do so here or by clicking ‘Buy RuneCoins’ inside my store. Don’t forget that I offer a 10% discount to all members.

    Until next time.

Solomon – Proprietor Solomon’s General Store

  6. Seems like one of the points everyone is missing is that this Double Experience weekend is to offer players a chance to boost their Combat stats higher for the Evolution of Combat, while offering something for those who don't need/want to.

Like enough people won't be "max combat" as it is when the EoC comes out...

I think they want more members. :P
