  1. "Baby's First MMORPG" Loved this articlel, RuneScape is a very complex game which in my opinion teaches real life skills. In a world where youngsters think they can have it all, RuneScape shows that you have to work for what you get. People playing other games should come over to RuneScape and try it out for more than a couple of hours and then say that it is 'baby's first MMORPG'. Yes, I am of the very much older generation around almost before electricity was invented, but I enjoy RuneScape for the diversity. I don't just have to run round killing things or skilling, I can sit in the general exchange and gosip or I can join in one of the many many events which other players put on 'just for fun'. Baby's first MMORPG? Rubish. RuneScape is a community.
  2. one of these days we must catch up with each other

  3. The same thing keeps happening to me, about 10 minutes into playing rs the pc reboots itself. Yes my pc is quite old (5 years) but it is regularly maintained and has had the dust removed etc. Have wondered if there is a bug in the rs program. It only ever seems to do it twice on each switch on.
  4. I resent the fact that you think old people are wrinkly and grumpy.
  5. Lets see those applications rolling in. Good luck everyone.

Hi Me remember me? Was good to meet you at rf.

  7. I would love to know the admins average age because I believe it is around 21 years and for such relative young people you do a wonderful job.
  8. Get out of here Eggy. :) =D> The random event box was .......(no word to describe it) =D> but sorry the article does not do Runefest justice it was more like we had become our characters and jumped into the pc screen for the day. Yes we were all nerds running round in real life looking for hidden penguin spys. Having said that I would not have missed meeting everyone for the world.
  9. Congratulations RussetAlpha sorry I couldn't make the party.
  10. For some reason the image for medical things these days has changed from a red cross which it used to be to a green cross these days so I expect runescape is just keeping up with the trend.
  11. Not sure how a pmod can come into a cc and mute someone. Thought it was only ranked people that had that privilage.
  12. I loved Mirrors tongue in cheek article. Gave me a great laugh.
  13. Yes, in preparation for the TET event on Saturday I am going to hold your hand through the Shades of Mort'ton Quest. Meet me in world 99 at the Slayers Tower in one hours time at 8pm bst today. On completion of the Quest you will be able to burn shades for prayer experience and get a key to a chest in Morton dungeon for each shade you burn. Bring on the fun.
  14. Well, I more see it as the "look what money got me" staff, but yeah, this soured this for me more than anything else. Thanks Jagex for putting an item in game that remindes me every time I see it what RL money will get you. I really thought you were commited to not allowing that. I don't begrudge anyone going, or all the cool stuff they are getting at runefest, but I do feel bitter over this in game item. I dont see why anyone is so mad. I pity anyone who got the flagstaff, anywhere they go with it someone is going to make fun of them. that or worship them like its a party hat The flagstaff of festivities is nothing more or nothing less than an advert for the Runefest. Look how it got you all talking about it. Same with not announcing the venue. The more we talk about it the more advertising they get. Oh btw yes I have my flagstaff, and am combining my visit to Runefest with a family holiday in Englands capital city.
  15. What is strange is the fact that nobody talks any more. Must we all go round in silence. Or perhaps we have just lost the art of conversation.
  16. Just go the the temple and turn them back on. And be more careful next time. lol
  17. Sarcasm or not you talk a lot of sense. There are a great number of people in this country who think that the world owes them a living. Why should people who work hard and save their money be penalised in old age, whilst those scroungers and layabouts get looked after by the state.
  18. Within the next 12 months probably. Maybe even as soon as November.
  19. In my opinion someone who has run a successful business is much better qualified to run the country than someone who has only had the experience out of a book. Why do you think that when you apply for a job they ask if you have experience. And why do you think that there are a lot of people with 'good' degrees who cannot find employment. Experience counts for a lot.
  20. That is about the dumbest thing said in this thread so far. Just looked at your profile though I didn't really need to to judge your age. I have been voting since the 1960's, so maybe I know a little bit more about it than you.
  21. Harping back to proportional representation. If we adopted that system we would then have only the career politicians would get into power which, in my opinion would mean they rule the country for their own gain and not for the good of the people. If you look at the background of some of the Conservative members of Parliament you will see that they are successful business men and who better to run the country than someone with a successful business. Just my opinion.
  22. Just thought I would let you know I bought my Santa around this time last year for 14m yes 14m :D
  23. Get over it folks. Its a flag and it advertises the Runefest. Nothing more. I bet that after the event you never see them again.
  24. I have only read up to page 3 on this subject but feel I have to reply. I live in England and have bought my ticket and now have my banner. I can weild my banner or plant it in almost any place i choose. If I weild it it is just like a banner from poh or from doing one of the challenges. If I plant it it is one big advertisement for the runefest. Yes I live in England and am able to go but it will cost me travel expenses to get there and also overnight accommodation. Maybe my train ticket is not quite as much as travelling from America or Australia but it is still extra on top of the price of the ticket. Please remember that Jagex said that if this was a success they would consider taking it across the pond. So we in England are being used as experimental dummies. The event when they bring it over to America I can assure you will be bigger and better than the English one. As someone in an earlier post said, if they give the flagstaf of festivities to everyone perhaps they can give the bunny ears or the rubber chicken to everyone too. It could be worth pointing out that when all is said and done Runescape is only a game. When you play bingo do you always expect to walk away with the big prize.
