  1. When you've worked really hard for the skillcape you have a different viewpoint on them.

Basically, I'll give you a before and after.

    BEFORE:

    AFTER: (Exact same outfit!)

    Or even this:

    To this:

    What would you prefer?

Not only are they shorter, the icons are much smaller and a bit blurry/pixelated. They just don't look right. If you've had a cape of achievement for a long time you would definitely notice it. I know it might not look like much but trust me, it is. Maybe it might interest you that skillcapes are still long on girls, but not on guys. In fact, our capes are smaller!

    Where's the problem exactly? Oo

They don't look THAT bad, in fact they look perfectly fine. I can understand the other fixes and glitches, but this one just seems to be a bit ridiculous. It's just a cape after all :|.

  2. It's great to see that you're back as well. Just can't resist the siren call of the mine, can we? I wish I could tell you I've found some magical new way of mining in F2P, but iron is still the fastest xp. On a less discouraging note, you don't necessarily need to be on a full world to make decent xp/hour.

Mining in F2P tends to max out around 36-38k/hour, but you can still make 30-32k/hour on a world with under 500 people. Heck, this morning I made over 30k/hour on a world with only 350! Try to find an empty spot in either Rimmington or Al-Kharid with three rocks close together (I like Rimmington personally, it tends to be quieter).

Good luck my friend. Hope you can get your membership back soon so you can return to concentrated gold.

Thats cool, I don't mind experience rates much, as long as I'm having fun :D. No rush for membership, though I would like some cash for other goal's I've decided to complete in the future :P. *cough* Runecrafting *cough*.

Guess I'm heading off to the mine then .

  3. It's good to take breaks every so often. I myself am just returning from a few months of aimlessly wandering the forests of Gielinor and living like a hermit (you'd be amazed at the length of beard a female character in RS can grow  ). Let us know when you're back. Like I said before: RuneScape will still be here.

 Its great to see that you're back! I'll be playing as F2P once I start up again, probably for a while, so if you can help me out with mining I'd be grateful :D.

  4. Is there a double exp weekend this weekend? Or is it for the PS3?

Nah, its double exp. to celebrate the release of the stimulus package, so 360 got their double exp. weekend when they got the stimulus package, so PS3 and PC get double exp as well. But everyone is boycotting the stimulus package on PC and for good reason. We never had to buy maps for our games until Modern Warfare 2, and once everyone boycotts it (except for the [developmentally delayed]s) I don't think they'll be pulling a stunt like that ever again.

    Hopefully.

Oh, have you guys read about the strife at IW? I don't think modern warfare 3 is gonna be very good because just about everyone who headed the team has left, leaving a lot of spots to be filled but with no real experience. Not that I'm gonna go buy modrrn [cabbage]fare 3 anyway -.-.

Do you remember what happen the last time PC gamers got together for a massive boycott? Failed miserably. We 360 and PS3 users pay for our maps and never had dedicated servers and we don't whine and complain when something doesn't go our way.

You really don't want to open up this can of worms, it's a losing battle for all sides.

It won't matter, the point behind that boycott was that they were removing freedoms from the end-user: the consumers themselves. For example, the dedicated servers: IW removed that option from the legitimate consumer, removing freedoms that were, and still are THE NORM FOR ANY REPUTABLE PC MULTIPLAYER GAME. With those servers being removed, we no longer have the freedoms we used to: the freedom to play whatever maps you want, the freedom to enjoy gametypes, mods, etc the way you wanted to. They removed freedoms, and essentially told the consumers, "Hey, you don't need to have freedom, here, play the game the way WE want you to play. We don't care how you want to enjoy the game, we want to control it, just to protect the product itself." It's like buying toothpaste, and not being allowed to use it unless you're brushing your teeth. It's also like giving a child food for ten years, then cutting them off. You're removing an essential feature that is fundamentally required for a person, or in this case, a multiplayer PC game, to succeed or function.

It's only a forefront of issues to come, and this brings a debate of "How much freedom should the consumer have?", reaching back as far as even the Betamax case of 1984 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Corp._of_America_v._Universal_City_Studios,_Inc.), even before then. I don't feel like debating it at the moment though.

To deal with consoles, matchmaking works fine, as it's the best the systems can handle efficiently, and we all know how unstable those connections can be.

I'm actually arguing for PC/Console equality. You guys think it's unfair for you to have to pay for this one map pack and that it's unfair that you don't have dedicated servers for this one game but we've never had a free map pack or dedicated servers. Why should you all get these freedoms if we've never had them in the first place? Believe me when I say that we want a choice in our maps other than a simple veto and that we want to be able to play the way we want to but if we can't, what makes you all, the ones who aren't paying for online play, deserve the right to have all of this? The way I see it, we should be getting free expansions and dedicated servers like you all, or you have to pay for expansions and have matchmaking like us.

Naturally, yes, both sides should be made equal. Both sides should get the free expansions and dedicated servers, but there's technical problems with this mindset. And we payed for our online play in another form: Higher-priced hardware, but that's another topic entirely.

Although to add onto this, and explain the technical issues behind this somewhat, take TF2 for the consoles and compare them to the PC version as an example. The way things are now, they can't be completely equal. Consider TF2 on the PC; it's constantly updated as updates roll out, and the total size of the updates can reach sizes that some of the consoles cannot store without a larger storage unit. VALVe also wanted to send those updates to consoles, but for example, Microsoft won't allow the updates unless they can get some royalties for it. I'd continue this further, but I need sleep for now. And yes, they should be equal.

And as a final note, restricting materials on the disc and making you pay to unlock them with real money shouldn't be allowed; It's a cheap money grab, and we all know that wouldn't work on the PC games that would do this, since it'd be cracked within hours.

    Look what I started :|.

Both should be equal, but as long as consoles have all the restrictions in place they will not be equal. I'd like to see consoles get dedicated servers, constant, fre updates and the like, but they won't because Microsoft want to milk you for the cash (they kinda need to though, because that's their reveneu from console gaming right there. The royalties anyway).

You think I don't know? I own a 360 and I play it frequently, and I reckon its appaling you have to pay for add-ons, map packs, etc. and that is exactly why everyone is boycotting it on PC. Of course there is a chance that people will buy them on PC, but if you actually play a game you'll realise that everyone has pretty much refused to purchase them (people have willingly changed their names to oppose and make clear their intentions. I won't post the colourful words used to describe the DLC but you can imagine I'm sure).

And why the hell would you want to DEGRADE PC game quality? Out of spite? hat would be ridiculous. There should be a push for equality on the PC gaming level, where you buy a game and that's all you need to get. Imagine how happy everyone would be, eh? But the way things are going now, we could see a push in the WRONG direction by gaming publishers.

    C'mon, let's all be friends now :P.

  5. Is there a double exp weekend this weekend? Or is it for the PS3?

  6. My friend got an R4, gave me all the legendary pokemon that are event only and got them on HG. Then, I picked up a copy of platinum, so I can trade all the sinnoh pokemon over to HG and complete my pokedex. Damn, life is good. I'm currently up to Kanto, I think the third Gym leader there, but I can't really remember.

I have also been busy amassing an army of gengars which I will use to defeat my opponents. Quake at the sight of six level 100 Gengars with Hypnosis/dream eater/nightmare/shadow ball :D. It'll be my little hobby I guess XD.

  7. I can't wait for Halo Reach, gives me a reason to play my console again XD. Oh, that and Dead Space 2/Dead Rising 2 ;). But seriously, Halo looks like it is going to revolutionise the series, and they kinda need to since all the little kids are taking it over, and nobody wants to market to little kids... cause everyone knows all the older guys play games.

  8. Wouldn't you know, my processor is too [cabbage] to run this game. Brilliant. Now I need to shell out another $390 so I can start playing a proper fps, cause you know, modern [cabbage]hole 2 isn't gonna quit on me yet (in fact, its the only game that has ever run on my computer without any troubles whatsoever. Brilliant -.-).

  9. After playing this game for a grand total of 185 hours, I can safely say that it is so much freaking easier on 360 than PC. The number of hackers you get on PC is ridiculous, plus the game isnt well balanced for a keyboard and mouse, instead it was ported over with teh controls in mind of a controller, making the aiming and moving quite bodgy. Maps are hopelessly unbalanced compared to cod4, even with the new stimulus package coming out soon I don't have much hope for IW/Activision to make the game any more playable. The only way you can get any kills on PC is if you do the following:

    - Tube

    - Last Stand every time you die (you have to be good though)

    - Run around and just Akimbo spray like a noob

    - Tube (wait, what?)

The game is heaps of fun, but it is NOT balanced for PC play whatsoever. They didnt even think of balancing the controls or aiming :/. Most of the corridor firefights come down to a ridiculous amount of spray, and the only thing that takes any real skill (sniping) has ai assist in mind when you follow a target. But with marathon/lightweight it is impossible to shoot anyone down, unless you hardscope for 5 seconds following them across the map.

[bleep] this, I'm gonna go play cod4.

  10. Well, tip.it certainly got thi right, Dungeoneering it is .

Too bad I'm busy playing other games on PC, and combat doesn't really appeal to me much. But if it benefits other skills, I might have a reason to use it in the future. It looks like a lot of fun anyway :P. Kinda like a slayer but with more rewards, and a 60x falador dungeon Oo.

  11. I find it hard to believe that there isn't some form of life elsewhere in the universe. In fact, I bet there is sentient life as well.

The Universe is infinite. There could be hundreds of billions of other planets just like ours, with humans. I'm not saying they're anywhere close, or that we'll ever even comprehend how far they are from us.

The Universe is so freaking infinite that there could be hundreds of billions of planets with giant walking, talking bears. I'm not being sarcastic. Seriously, think about it.

Umm, I said that there was life. Reread my post. :???:

I'm agreeing with you, and expanding on your point. ;)

If you think about it if it is that infinite someone on an entirely different planet looking exactly the same as you and in the exact same conditions could be doing the exact same thing right now..........

Than the fabric of time itself would rip apart and the world would be in utter chaos...

Do you people watch Dr. Who? :P.

Anyway, yeah the odds that there is life out there is massive, but the number of planets that exist out there must be in the trillions. So yeah, there has to be something out there.

Maybe there is a planet filled with pokemon...

  12. Damnit! My cricket team missed out on the semi's by one game. We had them all bowled for 101 and of course, thinking we were gonna win, went in to bat to be bowled all out for 83 >.<

Still, seniors next year so I'll be playing with my Dad. That'll make for some interesting games :XD:.

  13. It's always good to catch up with old friends.

A friend of mine used to hang around me, and I took the moment to do the same.

He's moved pretty far away now and we never talk anymore, so I'm glad we spent the time we did instead of being on Runescape. :)

Couldn't have said it better myself :).

I will be getting back to mining sometime shortly, with holidays coming up and all I'll have a lot of spare time so I'll probably play runescape when there's nothing to do. But I reckon I'll start playing a bit earlier, because my exams have all finished and I only have one project which I have to work on atm. So heaps of spare time :P.

  14. BC2 is gonna take a while to get to me (stupid [developmentally delayed] hit my car when we were pulling into the driveway so I can't get the the freaking shops. gf :wall:). So, till then, I'll be throwing knife/sniper for the next week, hopefully get to level 40 prestige and get a nuke. Then leave.

Still, had some good times, but sadly dedi servers on BC2 are too good to pass up. I don't want to get [bleep]ing tubed every second spawn by a level 20 noob who thinks he's cool (actually, I've seen 6th prestige running around with tubes, so I guess just about everybody is noob on PC eh?). Once they fix up multiplayer I might come back to it. God I hope they do, because the game is fun.

  15. A lot of people do seem to complain about mining. =\

I enjoyed getting mine to 85 on my old account. :D

Its true, I reckon its the most hated skill in rs, but that just makes 99 feel heaps more epic :D.

I'll try and explain why I havent being on rs recently. Well, I have recently got into conact with an old friend of mine from primary school, and it turns out that he plays MW2/MW/BC2 on PC. So, for the last couple of months I've been playing with him and catching up, chatting, and just doing whatever. So runescape has kinda become a secondary thing. School is actually extremely easy at the moment, I'm focusing on maths and science as well as commerce for the SC, and I've got everything planned out till then. I've been able to study and get in heaps of gaming time, as well as hanging out with new and old friends.

To be honest, I have no idea when I will return to rs... Could be a few months, may not be for a few years (yes you heard me right). But, I reckon that sometime durig this year I'll be back on and mining. Until then, I'll be posting around other people's blogs and keeping up to date with the community :).

The dream aint dead though ;).

  16. I know plenty of people who have been affected by racism in Australia (and it came from our own Government, which is despicable). However racism is an overused and abused term these days, so its hard to give a story that I know of. However, my friends parents have experienced their fair share.

One friend of mine (his parents are immigrants) had to wait a full 5 years before they could come to Australia. They were also not allowed to vote, and were payed les than white people working in the same profession as theirs (they worked in a factory). The general populace looked down on them as well, however they banded together in a small group and still live where they started today (in Merrylands). By the way, they are Lebanese. Also, I'm not sure if you can take stories from abroad, if its just in America then I can't help you any further :P.

Basically, life was harsh on them. They had enough trouble trying to get a house and raise a family and keep working without all the racism and horrible treatment they were given. But, when the white Australia policy was abolished in the 70's life became a bit easier on them (it still took people of the time to accept the newer people coming into the country).

I have some more stories from friends, so if you need any more just hit me up in a PM :).
