1. RuneScape HD of course!
2. Summoning!
3. Pvp worlds possibly
4. While Guthix Sleeps I think, can't really rate just a quest higher than 4th since it's a one-time only update.
5. Everything else!
Seriously, the best year of RS updates by far. Can't wait for tomorrows BTS where they will probably tease us on what 2009 has in store for us :

big cookie to whoever can tell me whats wrong with this picture
Couple possibilities:
1. You're not playing in HD :wall:
2. You brought a rune essence to a farming run?
3. The ground and all the people are gone.

ok since were into picture games lately heres one from me :P

I read a wonderful DIY (Do It Yourself) guide that was stickied in the new Guides forum on the RSOF. It explains the DIY style of play and how it can make the gameplay experience fun rather than tiresome.
I know myself that I'm not a DIY'er :P

The things I'm hoping for in 2009 update wise are:
- A new skill or 2
- The next quest in the dwarf storyline, it's been 3 friggin years!
- The 150th quest obviously
- An update to the graphics of the NPCs and players
- Eastern lands
-
W00t! I didn't realise they changed the way your rewarded with points =) Now I'll get almost full points playing the way I like to do it, the fun way :D

Never...
Jagex are money-grubbing bastards, and to do this, it would cost a LOT of money.
To put it another way, Jagex refuses to spend enough to hire decent a decent Beta Testing team, so what makes you think that they would be willing to spend money on a re-write from the ground up?
Money-grubbing bastards? Have you seen the Jagex employee survey thread in this forum? What did they do to make themselves money-grubbing bastards?

Love Jagex

The path of all evil (I think thats what it's called) is very good. And one of my absolute favorites is Scape Summon
-
Pretty cool, I just hope it wont be expsensiver, if it is, I probaly wont use it.
It costs 60 something NOK (Norwegian currency) and 1 dollar is about 6-7 NOK? Membership costs about 6$ if you pay with credit card, so thats around 40 NOK if you're paying by credit card. So 60 NOK for SMS and 40 for credit card.

Actually, you can do WOM tasks without Swan Song. I remember doing tons of them just to get him to assign me to kill the thing under his bed upstairs. I couldn't and after that he won't give you more tasks I think.

Thanks for all the opinions people, keep them coming

Yes!! A J Mod said he was very excited about the 150th quest!! Big new area, new skill and GM quest all sound awesome to me :D
Wait, really? Because that would be extremely awesome. I know I'm f2p and everything would undoubtedly be p2p but I love reading up on these things and obtaining new clues to figure out the history of runescape
Yea, at the top of this page BBC3 quoted Cheefoo who quoted a Jagex mod who said he was very excited about the 150th quest and that it will either unlock a new skill, a new huge area (east/elf city) or be a GM quest.

This thread is invalid. There are plenty of annoying kids playing runescape still, nothing has changed.
Yes, but there seems to be less, and as you can see I'm not the only one who noticed. Did you do extensive research on this, or did you just decide that "nothing has changed" is the final answer because you think so?

But the question is how do they compare to last years?

Oo is that a wolpertinger in the last card?
And overall I think last year was a bit better. But out of all of them the snowy falador one was the best I think.

Oh great, so I guess it's not me then : Alot of people seem to have noticed an increase of maturity too.
Although I will agree there are still some bad wine out there (bad metaphor I know).
-
Is it just me, or have RS players gotten slightly more...mature? I'm looking at the forums and I see almost noone starting a sentence without a capital letter, and few stupid posts (still some though). If that's true, could this be because kids are leaving and new players are coming in after the HD update? Or what do you think?

12th December 2008 - Christmas Cards
'Tis the season to be jolly, so why not put a smile on the faces of your friends and family by sending them a RuneScape Christmas card?
This year we have four festive Christmas card designs for you to send to your favourite people. Two of these designs were chosen by you in our recent Guaranteed Content Poll, so we hope that you enjoy seeing your ideas made into Christmas cards. The two most popular designs from the poll were 'Sweet Dreams', featuring Bob the Cat asleep by the fireside, and 'Christmas in Falador'.
You can either print out the cards, ready to send, or save your favourite designs onto your own computer.
To view the designs for yourself, head to the Downloads and Wallpapers section.
Personally I think the 3 first look sweet, especially the Falador one. But what is up with the paint-made santa? :o
Also, this was posted in the RS official forums:
Miscellania Flatpack UpdateMod Jon H Jagex Mod

Hi everyone,
The following post is from the Content Development team and concerns the recent construction update.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The rewards for the Fremennik Achievement Diary included the ability to sell flatpacks as an investment in the coffers of Miscellania Island. The difference between the cost of materials for making a Magical cape rack and the value of the item itself on the Grand Exchange meant that there was a more substantial profit than originally intended available to players who have high construction levels. We apologise for this not being sound on release.
Today we made a change, lowering the Miscellania value of that cape rack to fix the problem. In addition, we are making similar changes to the other flat-pack values to ensure that they can not be in a similar situation if their price on the Grand Exchange changes in the future.
We believe this will leave the ability being more what we had in mind- somewhere you can sell the flatpacks you make where there is a constant demand to absorb them. The values for the items will not be high, as the large supply of flatpacks produced means these items have low value in the game. However, this ensures a constantly available return of some of money invested in the skill, should you choose this strategy.
We would encourage players to be cautious about any new content which appears particularly good in terms of experience or financial benefit. It is safer to report a possible problem using the bug report form than to expose yourself to possible financial loss as some players have claimed they experienced today, or to possible penalties for bug abuse. The number of reports we have received demonstrates the maturity of the community who have recognised something inconsistent with their knowledge of the game, and been responsible and helpful in reporting it. Many thanks for your help.
Our priorities today were to fix the problem and avoid it being abused further. To this end we had a fix live as soon as possible after investigating the reports, and avoided alerting players to content we were not happy with and felt could be abused. You may be reassured that currently we have no intention to take any action in the game against players who might have used this content.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you.

I heard rumours on the RSOF now that the Dragon Claws special attack has become a lot less accurate, can anyone check if it's true?
Yea, I thought it was finally fixed... but then it turned out to be false :(
Update of the year?

Funny how it's the exact opposite for most people lol. Most people think Fist of Guthix was the over-hyped and mediocre update.
