question, do people use rapiers at corp now? its stats are higher than the z spear in every way... it seems entirely logical, just wondering since I haven't been to corp in months

This isn't WoW, we shouldn't force lower levels to grind their way to the highest levels to get access to the game making everything beforehand obsolete. Everything should have a role to play.
Then why does WoW have so many more players? Maybe that's what people like. <_<

Maybe just add skills to each combat type like in WoW. Runescape would gain more people most likely.
That would be a HUGE update, but it might be needed if Jagex plans to keep adding skills.. The interface is a bit cluttered already. Remember when we didn't have to scroll down to see the bottom row?

Figured out equipment bonus didn't apply to multitarg people (like the 8 people who you didnt click on when you used ice barrage) so that kinda downplays magic a bit for clan wars :/ I'm wondering if anyone got the chaotic staff and wants to share how good it is :L

So I'll be using your guide, but I'll be using a Cannon at the same time, lets see how this goes, all I need is 96-99 Range. :D

Being on that spellbook should get you armor that has the highest melee def then since magic is suposed to > melee
Or maybe add some other variable: run speed!
This would allow for kiting, which actually IS the advantage of using ranged skills.. Then kiting naturally becomes better vs melee (yet not so much vs range, if the initial range of the mage is lower than a ranger he doesn't have advantage of his faster run speed)
I've always thought run speed would be interesting, and make agility worth it. With resting the stamina boost is worth nothing.

In other news: Ghostly Robes now alch for 100k. Now, you may only have 1 set at a time. Suckers, I got 10000 sets yesterday.MMG was here
OT: Magic needs to utilize the special bar better. Before SoL, the special bar did not even appear on staves. The SoL's special was a joke. It increased defense for a short period of time. Unfortunately defense does not give KO potential. Magic needs an AGS equivilant of some sort that allows a spell to deal extra damage.
If magic was given raw KO potential they would have to put it on a spellbook with no binds or else that would just be way too godly.
That had better come with some defensive spells or armor.

I think the arcane steam is a good update, because magic was underpowered.
Magic has absouletly no KO power.
Range you can use a Dark Bow special and kill someone who is over half health. Same with dragon bolts, one lucky special and you kill them from half health.
Magic has always been underpowered in my opinion.
Magic can combo and does have ko potential now
Dbow is a luck thing and dbolts < antifire or dfs

Using magic you risk more than range or melee, so you should be able to deal more damage and be more dangerous.
This isn't just about dangerous pvp though. In safe pvp magic still owns the high tier range/melee gears too.

Just give range a new weapon and prayers ftw?
Its not like mage gets any good prayers as far as i can tell.
At least the range prayers increase range accuracy AND strength, mage prayers increase nothing but accuracy.
Thats what the ammy is for, you need void to increase range strength, and void gets wrecked hard in safe 99% of the time. Less in dangerous because people don't bring multiple styles most of the time.

Also, does salve stack with void? Because some high levels wear void and a salve doing zombies.
