Dungeoneering
Grim attempts to use geomancy to shrink the rock and pull the rope into the boat. He then attempts to ascertain the powers of the paddle.

Dungeoneering
Grim gets in the rowboat and checks for paddles. If there are some he unties the rope with force magic. If that fails he slashes it with one of his dilithium swords.

Dungeoneering
Grim goes over to the rowboat checking for enemies/traps as he goes. He summons a barrage of fireballs from his pendant as well.

Dungeoneering
(Hmmm) Grim charges a fire attack and looks around. He attempts to put spikes made out of light facing outwards from his neck.

Zombie Plans-Revised
A virus mutating without evolution is significantly less likely than surviving after being bit by a dog or being hit by a jeep.
-
Dungeoneering
Grim attempts to do a scan with fire magic to detect heat before cautiously moving down the slope checking for enemies/traps as he goes (Level 1 light magic [finally])

On a note to people who want to boat. Do you know how to get supplies from the sea if yours run out? (I am also talking about certain types of vitamins) Do you have several backup plans? (Just incase port A is taken over by pirates/zombies) Do you have several distillery rigs?

(I am in a cavern with a lake in the second layer of the underworld) Grim scans with geomancy and attempts to create a shield of light.

Well it was a family vacation so there was quite a bit of general smashing :P (I say was because the vacation home as usual does not exist any more)

How good would northern mongolia/southern siberia be? Assuming you take necessary preparations and bring some people with you (and livestock) you could set up a nomadic lifestyle. Also hex would it not be a bad idea to go up against a crew of trained pirates? (On a note to mather that is not love or infatuation that is rather far into obsession if you ask me [in regards to the lady you have loved your entire life [or close to it]])

I would like to propose something else. People can send colony ships to other stars and have a roll on what planets/npcs they discover. We start with x systems but in the end we could have x+y systems. Also would it be possible to develop a faster method of ftl travel or is it all uniform.

Yes yes they could if they got into the ocean and wandered over to your dome. At which point you would be royally [bleep]ed as to destroying them.

It still could in theory get stuck or tipped over and you do not want to get out of it. Also the super crops would require both time and water to grow which may be in short supply. Seriously if you can afford a super tank you can afford an airship. The only difference is that the latter has a very good chance of getting you to safety if properly stocked.

Zombie Plans-Revised
Retech if you could afford that... then buy a [bleep]ing airship (Like Hindenburg style but using helium not hydrogen) it will get you to safety far easier and can be completely silent. Also would you not run out of food in that tank if it got knocked over?

Good point. Though wouldn't a .12/.22 caliber gun be the best you can get due to availability/ lack of recoil? Anyways I should probably brush up on my archery (Hex in the later stages a prison would be a very bad idea simply because they tend to be in populated areas which means you could get ~100,000 zombies around it if things go to hell)

Zombie Plans-Revised
Good point :ohnoes: . So how about a melee weapon? I would doubt a trench spike would be any good against a human with a gun. Though I guess the amount of raiders would differ from place to place (I doubt you would find that many in siberia for instance). Speaking of locations if you learned how to survive there and got the proper equipment how good would be the mongol steppes?

Zombie Plans-Revised
(Ah sorry I was talking about the max brooks type zombie) I am still not quite sure that if you stabbed it in the head it would do enough damage (Remeber to kill it with a sword at least according to the guide you have to either decapitate it or stab it through the eye and make a swirling motion) (On a completely different note are you having trouble sleeping ross?)

Zombie Plans-Revised
True. I would wonder what the best gun would be for long ranged though. A semi or a bolt action rifle? Though I would go back to melee weapons for a bit. For instance wouldn't the trench spike be easily stuck in a zombies skull? Then again wouldn't it's short range make it very very easy for the zombie to bite you? Also wouldn't the small stab be partially ineffective in destroying parts of the brain?

Zombie Plans-Revised
T'would depend. If you go just by the books a bolt action rifle or a semi automatic rifle might be most effective. A bolt action to the best of my knowledge is rather hard to screw up and easy to clean so that would be preferable for a longer range weapon. The semi automatic weapon is for those of us who cannot aim that well or for dispatching enemies at closer quarters.

Eh I am fine with the rules as is though I prefer anarchy (at least in the early stages). On another note archi why do you think that you were the only person prepared to [bleep] with other countries. I had several "stations" set up as well as one of my projects was the weaponization of Ebola among other diseases (to be delivered by hypersonic bombers). Anyways wouldnt the U.N. have something to say about abyssinia? You know the whole bit about somehow steamrolling half of africa in one turn?
