I check the book for traps before thumbing through it. I then go back into town and start practicing archery again.

With fire elemental in tow grim starts shooting at archery butts with broad-head arrows.

Grim again tries to summon a fire elemental with aid of his battle staff. Succeed or fail I will try to summon more ready made fireballs (I have a feeling that when I try to take on the lich I will need them)

(can you go into the guild at level 2?) if so grim goes in and teaches his levels for 100 gp.
