If you ask me verbal (generally undocumented) and emotional abuse should be un punishable by law. If the guy's an ass people will treat him as such and he will have social repercussions. However I don't really see how physical abuse is any different from main stream assault (yes yes they are in a relationship big whoop). tl;dr: Physical abuse should be punishable as assault and documented verbal abuse could be counted as harassment but other than that relationship abuse should have no special punishments attached to it.

It would really speed up the pace of colonization and the pace of the game as well (which is either good or bad depending upon how you see it). Honestly I'm fine either way though.

Yeah that's kinda the point of it. By using latin I remove all favoritism to one group or another (well aside from the clergy) and set everyone upon an equal playing field. I also avoid the troubles that faced the German troops in WWI (the different dialects played hell with organization if I remember correctly).

Well either india or southeast asia (I may have to order some spy work to be done). What I was thinking of (note that all of this post is not said in the game world) would be playing off the various states against eachother with promises of aid (at which point our forces unite after being conveniently late and crush the survivors) EDIT: Erm rocco it is kinda pointless to try to claim an entire continent for yourself. It would be much more reasonable to simply strive to control part of it (and not to put all of your eggs in one possibly rebellious basket) Also the next time someone fights you may be dealing with an actual general with a couple of cannons (and maybe even a larger force). So in short; don't be an ass and make reasonable claims (like not an entire [bleep]ing continent)
