  1. Well done Mish!

    Just apply here Tim! :D

Also bit bored of RS... Only logged in to do flips and a bit of DG today... CBA with Livid atm. So mostly played Skyrim/Oblivion and texted Kie hah. I'm seriously actually talking to him more than I get to talk to my girlfriend. Bromance before romance!

Also got this last night so counts as doing something towards comp right?

  2. You don't take a lot of damage on the final stage, as dpser. I was soulsplitting with superior vampirism and not losing health until the tanks died and bombs started falling amongst the melee lines.

I would like to note that my idea of the KK requiring a line of pikes protecting a line of rangers is nearly what happens at Vorago.

I remember your post about that and I find it a lovely thing to add to the combat system!

Now with the Battle of Lumbridge coming soon, wouldn't it just be awesome to have actual armies in ranks, impenetrable because of the use of spears and shields, causing your troops to attack from the flanks? :P

I wish so much that they could do this... But let's face it. It's not going to be anything like that. Hell most of the battles - ie. Whiterun - on Skyrim are meant to be big, grand and epic, considering that the Imperials and Stormcloaks are massive in terms of numbers (or so we're led to believe) - whereas the reality is there's a couple of wooden barricades that take 2 hits to down and about 25 or so soldiers you have to kill. Don't forget Bethesda have much better graphics, artists, coders, and the like. Hell, not even Ubisoft with AC3's new Anvil Next engine managed to make a "playable" army battlefield just yet.

With Jagex I think it's going to be a watered down version of the RotM battle, because don't forget, everyone's got to be able to do it. Or then again... A conquest like scenario where we move groups of troops etc? Anyways It'll be a few rounds of monsters or whatever considering who's trying to take it, and perhaps we'll end up with Skyrim like maps on tables in throne rooms etc in order for us to assess the sway of power.

  3. 1) 1 set of Drygores is fine, you don't need any more than that.

    2) Each have their own uses. Also make sure to use Drygore PCS or a similar FC to find the up-to-date pricing of stuff.

Rapiers are used mostly for KK.

Longswords are expensive because they're aesthetically the best - Fashionscape.

Maces are also expensive (though the offhand not so much) due to the +9 prayer bonus and its speed. Plus maces are the best if you momentum at all.

    3) Overall you wont go wrong with any drygore you pick, the difference between them is something like <1% according to the PC FC's and any other advice place where this topic crops up. The only bit of performance is MHM's +9 prayer as mentioned.

So grab Drygore Maces (unless you want OHL or OHR for fashionscape) as they have perhaps the best utility out of them all.

    4) Nex > Automaton/Glacor. But it depends how your bank stretches. I think Nex stuff is only slightly better anyways, but still better.

  4. ^ Essentially it.

Something is horribly wrong with Vorago which has been causing constant world crashes ever since they released him this time yesterday. Some of those crashes were people DDOSing Dardan and Woox. But most since have almost certainly been because of Vorago.

Hell at 1am last night Jagex booted 50k players from the game and rolled back 5 or so minutes for some reason.

  5. I've said before to friends that Jagex are screwed either way they play this:

    A. They release it now they make the same mistake they did with EoC and launch a thing that is still in beta and is being forced out because no one plays the beta anymore (or at least only those who can handle RS3 play the beta).

    B. They don't release it this month, then they shoot themselves royally in the foot and lose out on the biggest and best point in the gaming year in order to release RS3.

Hopefully the Battle of Lumbridge will be workable on Java client etc. Also I'm one of those people that want to sit and wait with this content to find out the best possible outcomes.

  6. IRL update. Just got my transcript of results through for this term (minus one module which is still to be submitted this week).

67 and 68 in my Thomas Becket module puts me on a 67 overall for that, and a 73 in my Seafarer essay puts me on a 73 for Anglo-Saxon Heroic.

That 67 is the first module I've had that's totalled under a 70 since end of 2nd year... I'm slightly disappointed.

Anyways need a 66 in my last module for me to average a 70 overall for the taught part of my M.A. Swings and roundabouts eh?

And before anyone says I should have spent more time learning and less time Maxing, I wrote the Becket and Seafarer stuff during the Easter break when I wasn't really playing RS at all. The only mark that may be affected will be the 2 for the last module... But will be pulling out all the stops for that now to try and get back over 70...

  7. Projected release at 1pm (2.5 hours from now).

Hoping this is gonna happen, gives me 90 minutes to play around with it after release before my lesson. \:D/

Such an addict :P Can't play at home so you play at college hah!

Ah well... 40 mins or so til we see if Urza is right :) Will be grand... Wish I was home for it!

  8. Hmmm to buy Virtus or not to buy Virtus that is the question. I know that if I buy it, it's more than likely that Vorago wont drop stuff to attach to Virtus and when I come back home this evening I'll make a loss selling it back. BUT if I don't buy Virtus I know it'll be Sod's Law that stuff will be attached to Virtus and I'll never be able to afford a piece again.

    Decisions decisions...

    V: 29-0/38+/35-6

Are the ranges etc btw according to the Nex and SS status V7 on RSOF with the last update being 11:23 (9 mins before I made this post).

  9. Reusing old pieces of armor actually sounds like a good idea to me, keeps the old bosses profitable, the thing that worries me is that nex armor could even rise from that, not making much sense

Keeping old bosses profitable is a useless thing to do. No benefit, tons of harm.

TBH the amount of dead content and bad decisions they make these days makes me think more and more they may do this.

Nex armour is already rising because of what Chris L said. The speculation has already caused a 5-6m rise on most pieces within the past 12 or so hours. In fact, at 1pm BST I was buying and selling Virtus:

    Mask = 23.4; Body = 31.3; Legs = 30.4

Are the prices I bought them for. They're now Mask =27-28; Body = 37-38; Legs = 36-37. (Nex and SS FC values).

And the not making much sense is answered by the fact that Nex is Mod Chris L's baby. The whole fiasco of Jagex going back on their word in some ways about PoP armour going to be the best gear, only to get shafted by Nex gear shows as much. And rumours already abound of a Nex instance, hardmode, scaling per-person, and armour buff. Truly they're not done flogging the horse, and the more I think on it, the more I do wonder what Chris L has done.

Either Tectonic is going to be T90 Defence armour, shafting ports into near uselessness and non-existence, cept for fashionscape. Or it'll be T90 Offensive, which will take the shine off Virtus, but he'll find some way for it to be incorporated or otherwise.
