"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
Thanks, you too, Insanity :) I'll do it in person and I've been off school for a while 'cos I'm ill *sniffle* so I haven't had the chance, but as soon as I do I'll tell her! :)

:) Thanks for your reply, I understand what you're getting at. I've decided that I am going to ask her (after all the comments here and by George's spam on MSN :P) and I'll post how it goes up here. Thanks for all the comments and stuff, people!

which is why it is difficult for guys to be "best friends" with girls. Eventually you would end up falling for them and that is completely normal. close guy-girl friendships actually do eventually come together. You should tell her how you feel when the time is right. Dont prevent yourself from having a relationship with her only because what might happen if there were to be a breakup. :) Thanks. I agree with what you say, a girl-guy best friendish is hard, and people I know who've also had them have sometimes ended up falling for each other, like you say. Trouble is many have ended badly, which is putting me off. But perhaps I'll set aside my fears and take the plunge!

I don't like the idea of lying to her in any way and turning in a fun outing into a date. A girl should never be kept in the dark on an issue as it will always surface in the end. In my experience, being direct with her always leads to a longer and more fulfilling relationship. H'm, both valid points. I liked the idea of the road, it's helped me to understand it a little bit better, so thanks for the story :D I haven't asked yet because I'd rather do it in person if I am going to, so it'll have to be any time after Monday if I go through with it. But I like you idea of just saying "Wanna go out?" I could just invite her to somewhere, 'cos it's not like we never hang out, because we are best friends. And I won't say I've liked her forever, 'cos I haven't :P We both know that we've liked each other in the past (our friends told me she liked me and they told her I liked her, darn friends :P) and it's only recently that I've begun liking her in that way again. And I definatly wouldn't want to make it creepy, hehe :) But there's another thing that could make this harder, something I forgot to put up last night. Her short-term boyfriend dumped her just a couple of months ago without giving a reason, so she was a little cut up about that. And she still liked him a little after that (I don't know how she feels now) but what made it worse is that our friend is now going out with that boy, so it just makes it more difficult... But thanks for the advice, people. It's helped quite abit! So thanks, George, for making me come here! :D

Hey Alex. Right, well you've already heard my opinion on MSN but I may as well voice it here as well. You've just given me a little more info on the subject too. As a lot of people here would say, go for it, you'll never know unless you ask right? It's better then spending all of your time wondering on what might have happened. And as Sworddude would say It's only awkward if you make it awkward, try hard and fix things if things end up going bad. Yeah, but it's not that easy 'cos we may loose our friendship if I say something silly like "I love you!" Hehe, song quote! :P Nah, but it's just hard... Anyways, I've got to go now, see you tomorrow! Well, saying that straight up may scare her off. Once again I will say it, you will not lose your friendship if you work hard to keep it together. If she doesn't return your feelings then make sure she knows that you want to stay friends, say you don't want your feelings to ruin your great friendship. My advice isn't the best, but it's my opinion. Seriously, I hope it works out. Wey, I'm still here :P (Unless my spirit's left my body and has learnt to type!) Well, I didn't say the entire truth... I liked her once before and told her so, only it was kinda bad between us. We still hung out but spoke little, and when we did we avoided eye contact. We got better over time but I wouldn't be able to stand it if it was like that again... Oh well, I am going now. Bye!

Hey, I'm new to this Forum and it confuses me so bear with me for a little :P Ok, so I've been single for a couple of months now, recently came out a relationship and everything was fine, we stayed friends but we obviousy talk less and stuff, but we still get along. But now something bad's happened - I now really fancy my best friend (who is a girl). "Why's this bad?" You may ask, well 'cos I can't ask my best friend out, can I? If it turns out she doesn't like me (I've been told she does but you can't be sure) then I'll look really stupid and it'll become awkward between us. And if she does like me and we go out, then break up, our friendship would be in tattars... I need help I suppose. :(
