  1. q - Right now, teams that skip every resource, leave every monster alive, let themselves die and don't even pay attention to the dungeon are able to get 3 times more experience than normal teams, who are able to get 7 times more experience than soloers. Why is this?

a - Yes I agree that's fundementally wrong. I want to increase the XP you get for clearing rooms properly, but we are waiting for some data before we can do that.

As long as Jamflex isn't a Jamflex on that and rushers don't get penalized in any way, I would be happy with this.

  2. Hey Wertyue,

A very warm welcome to the community! I look forward to seeing your posts here in the future. That list you have there is very interesting.

Now directed to everyone, as for the whole Tezaki issue I don't really see what the big deal is all about. She doesn't want to be on the list, so we don't list her officially. Case closed. You can wonder whether or not she is purely F2P, but does it really matter in the end? I'm sure most of us could care less. We all have bigger fish to fry anyway. Let it remain unknown if she wants it to be unknown - we can live with it.

  3. Hey guys, here's a little challenge for anyone interested; especially if you like to PvM/Revenants.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raPxfSeqf-c

--The following is all in the video, converted to text form--

    The Objective:

    - Score points by killing as many revenants in a single trip as you possibly can.

    - Points earned correspond to the revenant's combat level.

    - e.g. Revenant ork (level 105) will earn 105 points.

Scoring is complex... Your score will depend on 4 factors!

    I

When you kill a revenant, your points go up by its combat level.

    II

    - Killing in ascending order of combat level for the entire duration of your submission will DOUBLE your final score.

    e.g. Revenant Imp (7) + Revenant Goblin (15) + Revenant Goblin (22) = 44 x 2 = 88 points

    e.g. Revenant Imp (7) + Revenant Goblin (22) + Revenant Goblin (15) = 44 x 1 = 44 points

    - If you choose to do this, you must start on the imp.

    - If you manage to kill all the way up to the knight, start again on the imp! Your score will still be doubled.

    III

    - Your final score will then be divided by (your combat level ÷ 100).

e.g. If your combat level is 105, your score will be divided by 1.05

e.g. If your combat level is 75, your score will be divided by 0.75 (it increases!)

    IV

    - As an act of courage or stupidity alike, dying will increase your score by 10%!

    - An additional maximum of 10% bonus points can be earned depending on how much I like your video! This bonus may also be awarded for visual appeal, creativity in fighting style, or anything else that makes your video stand out! However, it will only be awarded if your video is exceptionally done.

    Rules:

    1. Your challenge must be completed on an F2P server.

    2. The presence of another player in the video will automatically void your submission.

    3. You may use any equipment, supplies, and prayers as you wish.

    4. Once you enter the area, you may not turn back at any point. You may not log out. Leaving in any way will automatically end your submission and your final score will be tallied up to that point.

    5. You may not pick up anything apart from your own ammunition and loot from a kill.

    Submissions:

    - Your submission will be entitled "Isthatok's RSC 1 - Submission by <yournamehere>"

    - To submit your video, post it as a video response to this video.

    - Maximum 15 minutes in length, but your clip may be sped up to a maximum of 200%.

    - All submissions MUST include the following:

    - Your current Runescape username, as which you will be recognized.

    - Say or indicate your combat level

    - A SINGLE and UNCUT in-game clip, which includes:

    - Gameplay screen visible at all times (moving the camera off-screen is unacceptable).

    - Entire clip must be adequately visible (no super blurry effects, cut scenes, etc.)

    - Editing and captions may be used and are encouraged as long as it does not violate any rules.

    - You are not required to show your inventory window, chat window, or radar.

    Additional Information

    - Anyone can enter!

    - This competition has no determined ending date

    - The highscores will be annotated into the end of this video

    - Bragging rights goes to those who make the highscores!

    Good luck!

  4. Would you guys say that 225k is a worthy investment to get from 67 smithing to 70 smithing?

Back in the day, I mined my own coal and mithril just to smith myself up to 70. It took a few months, and 225K is basically nothing so yes, probably. You should just superheat it; you'll get it in no time.

  5. Personally, I think F2P should get Wave spells, Mystic armour, (Or Splitbark) And Yew bows/Rune arrows.

Agreed as well. Wave spells would be the solution, and some more mage-friendly equipment would be nice. Seems like the bows and arrows would unnecessarily make ranged overpowered, but isn't it logical to have these things in F2P, since rune and yew items are mainly regarded as F2P? I don't know. I would understand if you disagree, and even I am only loosely supportive of this idea.

  6. Trying to get a public opinion, so let loose. If possible, state why you voted how you voted. No personal insults please.

In my own opinion, Dungeoneering is a failed minigame that was terribly planned and is a failed experiment which has now been forsaken. I want to know what you think - hence the poll.

Other thoughts to consider... What if the subject of the poll was changed to "F2P Dungeoneering"?

As an F2P here are my more specific reasons:

    -XP nerf

-Goes up to 120, and is not the focus of Runescape

-XP rate does not compensate for the extra levels

-XP depends on other people, and other people have the power to ruin it for you

-Hence often having to deal with idiots

-Skillers leech for the most xp

-Etc. - I'm sure there are more I can think of...

  7. Here's my setup:

    • - Fractite Spear
      • - This is my melee weapon. In dungeoneering, you want a good balance of speed, accuracy, and strength. The spear provides all three of these characteristics, whereas the 2h and maul fall short in speed and only yield negligible improvements in stats. Speed is vital, because the extra time spent waiting in between rounds adds up. These weapons may be slightly more useful against stronger, more defensive monsters, but in the long run the spear still prevails, especially in rushing which is much, much faster but is not the focus of this post. The battleaxe is a weapon of choice for some, but is basically a weakened version of the spear, with an open slot for a kite shield that is never worn and is completely useless anyway. Any other melee weapon is vastly incompetent.

    - Spinebeam Shortbow + 125 Fractite Arrows

    • - This is my ranged weapon. Although it is slightly less effective than the spear, it is the best option for rushing, especially on low floors and against monsters with very little health. For one, you do not have to run at out-of-the-way monsters and waste additional energy as a result. In addition, take advantage of the shortbow's fast firing rate. This will help you take down low leveled guardians much faster. Often times it only takes one shot to kill an Tier 1 monster - Why waste additional game-ticks with a melee weapon? Much more time than you think can be saved this way.
      - A staff and runes is not useful, because most bosses will give you a hard time if you mage anyway. Not to mention, you will still have to craft a large sum of elemental runes which wastes time. The only time when you really need magic is against a high tiered warrior. On World 61, these are virtually non-existent, and on World 7 the average team of five will easily take one down with just melee. For so many reasons, ranged is a much better choice, and runes can still be made if necessary (though rarely the case). Just as in F2P Runescape, magic in combat is nothing short of useless compared to ranged.

    - Fractite Gauntlets

    • - This might surprise you. Above level 100 Dungeoneering, you might think I would have some kind of armour bound to me. In fact however, armour does more harm than good. Anything that weighs you down will slow down the entire dungeon, exponentially. Rushing is easy without armour, and you don't need armour to rush. Don't even make armour, as the time it takes to gather the resources and create it can be used elsewhere. It's not a worthwhile investment.
      - A staff is not useful, for the same reason mentioned above. Even if I were to bind a staff, I would not be able to bind runes in place of my arrows and hence it would still be useless. Furthermore, contrary to popular misconception the magical blastbox counts as an ammunition bind and therefore would also replace the fractite arrows.
      - So why gauntlets? They give an additional +4 strength bonus, and a slight defensive bonus. Give me something more useful to bind that does not weigh me down.

  8. how do you get profit from being able to join runecrafting guild?

also, a smithing question: is the fastest way to lvl smithing at 55 smithing with non-negative profit just to smelt steel bars and sell them?

well, you can smelt silver bars, it is slightly faster, profit is varies from time to time but at least it wont go negative.

i just put my 20k silver bar at 249 while the GE price is 212, and it sold within a day, amazed by the ppl who brought it.

Darn, really? That's crazy. I've just started trying overnight merching again, hoping to see the same thing happen when I'm buying something. Hopefully things turn out well and I won't have to stand at GE for long periods of time to get a decent daily income.
