  1. A great deal of the supporters are trolls. It's evident on the forums, and I don't want them back. Some of them are making death threats too. The community will most definitely take a hit.

I'd also mention the increased risk of hackers... Since this would give incentive to hack.

But why would Jagex care? If this will prove profitable they'll just do it anyway...

A good semi-solution would be for the wilderness and free trade to exist only on new worlds accessible by older accounts (1-2 year+).

  2. This has HUGE implications for merchants on all levels. I'm going to think this through and probably make a thread just on this topic - but just off the top of my head, the rares market is going to go absolutely haywire once the trading caps are gone.

Yea, since my source of income comes from merchanting (don't worry, not merch clans; I'm a solo flipper) I hope it won't affect the GE TOO much... It would be interesting if you could still put in offers for lower/higher than the min/max prices, or if they'll take out those limits completely and leave it with just a market price.

  3. Yes, I'm finding it difficult to figure out how merchanting clans will affect the economy as well. On one hand, they can't force people to buy their items off the GE but that would just mean the buying price becomes lower... (And the other way around)

And then with that, we get into the debate over whether or not the GE limits will be lifted, and/or just be "recommended' prices.

  4. Note: This thread is solely about the Runescape Economy as a result of the mentioned event.

Jagex has made it pretty clear that they're going to "restore" the Wilderness and Free Trade. With that in mind...

What will the economy look like a year from now? What items will be affected, and in what way? Are we going to see a widespread drop in prices, or will things increase/stay the same? What will happen to the GE and to merchants?

Usually I try to wrap my head around things like these but this update is just too huge for me to get a good answer for myself. So what do you think? Let's gather some opinions and perspectives.

  5. Hmm, well I don't suppose that's too bad then. A little over 100K per hour?

Anyway, behold - my Maximum Hit Calculator! Anyone can "edit" the spreadsheet, so you can change around the blue values to find your maximum hit. I implemented the Runescape Wiki formulae and realized that they are DEAD ACCURATE - it calculated the G2H max in F2P at exactly 362. Go ahead and try it for yourself :)

It also has all melee, ranged, and magic!

  6. Amitoz - In one single post you managed to display your immaturity in five different ways:

    • 1) In the screenshot you flamed someone for no reason at all.
      2) Private chat shows you support anyone recently muted for a legitimate reason and continue to display a similar attitude in public.
      3) According to you, this was done six years ago. Since then you have failed to change by taking pride in such a stupid action.
      4) Your post is off topic, and if anything else, is inappropriate.
      5) You make incorrect assumptions by stating that F2P "misses out on the fun".

It's arrogant people like you that seem to populate World 113 these days, and we find you very distasteful. We have no respect for people like you.

  7. If dg armor actually had soak then this update would be useful to me.

But since it doesn't, from what I recall I don't think any f2p monster hits 200+. So yea, fairly useless update.

Some high levelled revenants do hit over 200. But who the hell fights those anyway...

    *Points at the Isok*

Thanks, I was just about to say... But even the revenant knight only gets soaked for about 10 damage at most, so it is pretty useless...

  8. Prayer isn't something I'm worrying about :s

From what I've experienced, Furnished floors seem to give mono 10x more often than any other theme... I just got bleeping monoliths on F24 F25 F26 AND F27... Together with that they ALL had at least three P2P doors. Can I get a seconder on this or am I just extremely unlucky as usual? I had a similar experience not too long ago in which I got 2 monos on F23, and then a mono on F24 after which I regrouped and got another mono on F24, and then ANOTHER mono on F25...

I rarely ever get monos on Frozen floors or abandoned as I can go several larges without them and occasionally entire small runs without them.

  9. Zhong I forgot to mention that the 200 was in any one single hitsplat, which excludes the critical hit ability of the blastbox. Forgive me for being unclear.

nvm, but i actually feel like you are talking about only single hitsplat, but still try my luck and post.

i cant find back the magic damage formula in wikia, the formula is 160*124% or 160*105%*109%*110% ?

both also cant get exactly 200.

edit:i think it is the former, which make max hit 198? i not sure since some say former, some say later.

    It's 160(1.15)(1.09) = 200.56

1.15 from weapon bonuses, and then multiplied over visible stat bonuses of 1.09.

I suppose 201 might be possible but 205 is definitely out of the question.

  10. I'd just like to bring up a point: Yeah, it's possible to hit 200 in F2P with magic but it's exactly 200; no more. By doing the simple math, anything higher is illogical. There is a hoax video on Youtube that suggests a magic max hit of 205, and people are actually gullible enough to believe it. :(

Aside from that, I'm sure many of you have noticed that the number of players playing Runescape is now EXTREMELY low. World 1 rarely ever reaches 1900 players on weekdays and the average number of players on each world is less than 400. Here's my suggestion thread: 185-186-348-61970673 . Please support it.
