It's because of how defense works in RS: it doesn't mitigate damage, it only makes you more likely to miss. Iron/Steel dragons don't have enough defense to warrant a lower DPS leaf-bladed sword, but Mithrils do, as whip would miss too often.

Actually, why did they? Or did they do it just for the lulz?

Aviansies are usually less crowded than green dragons, and fairly nice profit. Look for some guides on it in AoW. Not really, Zamorak book is the only one you'll ever need to use, once you have it. NEVER Burthrope any tasks after you do Smoking Kills. EVER. Skip them, if you must. You'll actually lose out on more points Burthroping it than skipping. Also, I'm not sure about the actual task, but if there are any safespots, try to range them.

Well, hopefully, once I get 70 prayer, I'll rake in some moola from GWD trips.

Untill someone dumps mass amounts of them, it won't really go down. If you want to raise prayer atm, you're better off diy'ing it and killing some dragons yourself.

Got 61 prayer and 46 herblore. 7 xp away from 49 farming, also. Now, for more of a blog-like post: let's nostalgia! Right, so, now I'll tell you a tale of my....first abyssal whip. So, it was a date which I forgot in 2007 (before trade limits and all that crap), I was mauling Fire Giants to train my melee skills a bit. Then I see this guy, with rune platebody, platelegs, helm which I forgot, a whip and an obsidian shield in his hands. He's there for about 30 minutes with me and another guy. Then, suddenly, I see him getting hit for 10, 10 and 11. He tries to run over to the door (probably running out of food), and then he gets hit again. I see him fall over. As you know, back then, you'd drop ALL your items on the ground if you died, and ANYONE could pick them up. So, in an adrenaline rush, I start spamclicking the square, as does the other guy. After the pile is completely looted, I glance over my inventory, and lo and behold, I had an obsidian cape, shield and the whip there. I was like "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG" I really was. So, then, this other guy (Who's character was a girl, but as we all know, G.I.R.L: Guy in Real Life) tries to convince me "that she is his gf". Even if she truly was, I wasn't parting with my whip. So, I put all the stuff in trade, then canceled it, then ignored him/her and teleported away to camelot. And there it is, tale of my very first whip.

D boots and Barrows gloves I do have, fury is bit out of my money's reach atm, but I'm trying to get 70 prayer first, so meh. Acummulator I have, of course, as I do the whip, Verac's skirt I also have, bought for sole purpose of bosshunting, actually. If my plan for prayer works, I'll have it before Christmas (DIY + 1.7k green dragons = wut)

Any tips for an aspiring boss hunter? Aside from getting melees to 85+ and prayer to 70+, since I'm working on that.

Oh COME ON, it really isn't that hard to maintain concentration in Runescape. :P Tell me that after killing green dragons for about 15-20 hours.

When I play Runescape, I only play Runescape, nothing else open. Browsing forums while playing just gets in the way. If I did that for all my gametime, I'd be insane by now. :mrgreen:
