Hmmm, well I've always seen in many things that a charge down hill has always been really effective, I guess it depends on factors, but I imagine a grassy hill would be an alright hill for horses to charge down, and I'm not talking about a vast hill here, as that would be too dangerous, but a hill that is not to high up from the ground, like 10 metres, that gives a good charge point. Anyway, when're your soldiers back from Wales? Another year? Cause if it's not done by the next decade, I fear that they would've prepared for it, and we'd just be wallking into a trap, I mean they've already had a large reinforcement from Mather and Egypt, it would be a risky attack right now.

Uhh, firstly Horses inside of a keep... The [bleep]? I think horses travel down some stairs, which is weird Horses travel in single line while surrounded on all sides, should of lead to their massacre, as they weren't exactly going fast enough to needle through The bridge scene, it started out fine until the bodies started to pile up ON the bridge, the horses should of tripped. Gandelf charges pikemen. I can actually see where you're coming from now, about the charging pikemen, but I guess I should use better examples, but it is common sense that a horse picks up momentum, and gravity helps a lot with that, and troops find it harder to fight up hill.

Really? I used 15,000 EDIT, 12,000, I forgot some of the pre planned troops weren't actually used, nor trained. And I don't think Retech would go into so much details about the leg breaking, if he does then it's a lesson learned by me. Also terrain isn't used to much in my tactics, I just look at the terrain map and just think the entire area looks like that. (Sounds more stupid than it is) And fine, have it your way.

How? I didn't actually say delibretely send calvalry at pikemen, I just said that a down hill charge is better than flat, as they pick up momentum Obviously I wouldn't use calvalry on pikemen, but it was just an example.. Also I love how I'm the worst tactician, and yet I have suffered the least casualities compared to my kills out of both you and Rocco.

Meh well anyway, after studying the army of the nations near me, I have worked out a war with these nations will be easy :D. Vietnam declares war on Cambodia We move in 5 million troops, and spread them out across the country to conquer them faster, as their army stands at 2 million who're fit for military service, and this includes civillians. The shock of the attack, and total uncalled forness should render them confused and disorientated. I say the war should last 2 years, and I shall suffer around 1.5 million casualties.

Calalry work best going down hill, complete massacre of anything except pikeman really, but even they get hurt quite a bit from it, even if they stab the horse or rider, it is still coming their way.

Ballistae would be alright against calvalry, would insta kill what it hit and send them flying into a person behind,

It will take quite a while to get gunpowder, then even longer to get military gunpowder, then even even longer to get guns.

Okay so we have a max of 2% increase or our economy begins to fail slightly. So that means my budget right now IS 266,949,993,600 Disregard the army stuff, I just read the wikipedia and we have a huge army. Going to quickly check the army of all surrounding areas to make sure that I'm not going to get pwned if I invade.

Other things that come to mind would be scaring the horses, distraction and siege weaponry (ballistae) longbowmen crossbowmen and other calvalry

Peasents would be HORRIBLE for breaking up calvalry. They have zero military training, and generally fear a group of horses charging at them at high speeds, they'd either run or shakely stand their ground, they'd get massacred by the calvalry who would just charge straight through them, as they don't know how to guard either. What they're good for is a large defense you can use, you could also put them on top of your walls and get them to drop and chuck stuff at the enemy I guess. They also serve great at keeping people busy as you flank them.

Or they also raise an army and put up a pretty good fight.

Ye Olde Hegemony
I guess I am an average tactics man, quite the understanding of Medieval stuff though, and understand how troops work and which troops work against which troops. Though my loyalty lies with people who are either most helpful, or my master. I probably wouldn't betray you though, just become less helpful.

Well I'm not backing down, I'm just telling him if they do attack me, then I'll just break the alliance.
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
If any French forces are attacked by Iceland, then the alliance is off.

Ye Olde Hegemony
A slight bit off topic, but I feel it belongs in this thread best. http://www.houseofnames.com/xq/asp/sId./qx/honsurnamesearch.htm It shows your coats of arms of your family name, pretty cool.

No Dusty, Mather is right, he is a vassal, and I think if he tries to break out, Egypt will attack him.

Ye Olde Hegemony
The English are quite strong it seems. Also Retech. How did my scouting go?
-
Ye Olde Hegemony
I send a small group of 100 scouts, with fast horses to Muslim spain to scout out the army, and see how many Muslims we're up against.
