OVERLORDING!
Jen appears in front of them and tries to act like a ghost, and punches one of the miners in the face if they think she is a ghost. In the meanwhile, her minions try to do the strangling thing as before.

Dungeoneering
Jen tries to add some ice magic properties to the vine so that it doesn't die in the harsh conditions of her home, staying plenty back incase it becomes like a Jade vine and starts attacking her. She attempts to create small, pretty flowers near her home again, a snowy blue color. Then she sends a telepathic message to Hakon. "I can help you with that. Meet me at my tower, the entrance is unlocked for 15 minutes."

OVERLORDING!
Jen orders her minions to take the miners by surprise, and to begin strangling them, to control them. If this is successful, she comes out of hiding and tells the miners that they must work for her in order to stay alive. (Path of evil btw)

OVERLORDING!
Jen (it's a she btw) wanders out with her minions and searches for a town or human settlement.

OVERLORDING!
The helper's name is...Bob. And my magical specialty would be ice. Anywho: Jen Sonn goes exploring with her minions to find some people to subjegate.

Dungeoneering
Jen wonders if the reason her flowers are dying so much is because of her anti-magic, or whether she is just having bad luck. If she "believes" that it is just bad luck, then she tries again to make long lasting flowers. After that debacle, Jen practices her archery on even smaller targets, waiting for Nexaduro to show up.

Dungeoneering
Jen attempts to create another flower, this time one that is resistant to ice, so that it can actually live there. If she succeeds, then she attempts to make a flower bed using snow, and grows a few more of the flowers. Then she sends a telepathic message to Nex asking him to come to her tower.

Dungeoneering
Jen leaves the decent armor near the fur coat, then Jen attempts to create a small flower, light blue in color. If anything seems wrong, then she stops the growth (this is using mainly nature, and some ice).
-
Dungeoneering
Jen attempts to fashion a small buckler styled ice shield and normal a light (not heavy) water magick robe. Then she tries to fashion a powerful enchanted ice robe for herself.

Dungeoneering
Jen runs up to her tower, and asks Snowflake to guard her fur coat that she left near the stairwell of her tower. She tells the sprite that if the person (Nex) can survive 3 rounds fighting with it, then Snowflake should let him take the coat.

Could we ask periodically how our weapons work against new weapons of the day? Not too often, but like we'd have to ask how arrows do against...steam powered torpedoes. I'll also try to actually listen to the analysis, for mainly my sake. Otherwise, I'll be in for a rude awakening when my "invincible" defensive army that is protecting my trade routes get crushed by a group of banditos. :P

New Game Poll
That seems like a fun concept. Wouldn't want to be living near the Soviet-American border. :P

In your version of Hegemony without super weapons: Research makes little difference since both sides do the same thing...since creativity is null and void you might as well just do the same thing...even if you don't the bonuses would be the same. Terrain has made no difference thus far in Hegemony... I am not going to run a game that a reasonably well programmed computer could have run...The whole point of playing without a computer is that you can be creative and experiment with ideas, not merely build a factory, build a tonne of soliders and volia. Well if we think of an idea, could you give us an idea how strong it is? Normally military planners have a general idea of how strong their units are, compared to Hegemony, when things don't exactly work that way, especially with flying steam ships and stuff.

New Game Poll
Can't make it more Hegemony related? With everyone dead from mutated anthrax? Hehe :P

OVERLORDING!
I meant like how would the gameplay work. Do you say "My minions scout for some hives" or is there a different concept.

New Game Poll
That is so win. Is this closer to Dungeoneering, without all the experience gaining? I would definitely join this.
-
OVERLORDING!
Could you please clarify? I sorta understand the concept of the game, but I don't really understand how it would be put into practice. Is this more of a "everyone try to build up their hives against NPC" game or is it supposed to be everyone fighting each other from the beginning. Lots that I still don't understand.

Then why don't you get them to help you? I don't exactly know how to fight in real life. I can fight in school though. A sharp kick in the groin and a swift kab in the stomach with a pen is usually enough, hehe. Earth, do you want to talk about it in PM, or at school tomorrow? Archi, game mechanics won't be like equations. It could be "so and so research takes approximately x time, and so and so research takes y time". This weapons is approximately x attack values in plains, and x+5 attack values in mountain. It would still mean that you would do your battle calculations, but you would have a guide that you could use, and people wouldn't get deceived because they had different views on stuff. They would have the info right in front of them, so they would know that you believe that gunpowder is weaker than archery, or whatever it is.

Well if you had a system based on game mechanics, then it would be unrefutable. It's when people start making and inventing larger and more powerful machines which sometimes turn into problem, especially when the whole thing is unrealistic in the first place, which is okay, but it doesn't really let you refute anything.

New Game Poll
We can't play all three? :D This one looks fantastic, but that's only one out of three that I've seen.

I just had a few ideas which may or may not be compatible with your system, since obviously we don't exactly know your system. First Idea: On the Hex grid, there would be coordinates which you could use to locate things, so for simple moves that make editing the map a pain, someone could say "Swordsmen to (5,7)" and people would know what you meant. Second Idea: This is a continuation on Rocco's idea, which was basically that civilizations got bonuses and disadvantages. I was sorta thinking of EU3 when making these examples, but the point is the main idea. For example: [hide=Second Idea] Civilization: Persians Kingdom: N/A (If you had a dynasty when the game started, which could be determined based on when we were starting) Culture Group/Technology Group: Muslim Specialties: Can chance tech groups at lower cost Unique Unit: Immortal Calvery +25% Birth Rate +10% Death Rate -50% penalty for building nomadic villages (villages far away from "capital") Starts at City Level 0 (when building a city) Civilization: Japanese Kingdom: - Culture Group/Tech Group: Eastern Specialties: +1 culture point Unique Unit: Samurai -25% Birth Rate -10% Death Rate +10% Castle Construction Starts at City Level 1 (when building a city) Civilization: Norman English Kingdom: - Culture Group/Tech Group: Northern European Specialties: Strong Central Government Unique Unit: Yeomen +25% Taxation +10% Archery Levies +25% War Instability Starts at City Level 1 Civilization: Genoans/Milanese/Venetians Kingdom: - Culture Group/Tech Group: Southern European Specialties: More Profitable Trade (Easier time setting up trade routes) Unique Unit: Crossbowmen +10% Research time +5% Immigration +5% Birth Rate +5% Death Rate +25% Corruption (for cities farther away from the capital) Starts at City Level 2, but needs to research government in order to create more cities. [/hide] --- That was just an idea, and I really have no clue of the system that you're using, but if all of this were balanced before the game started, then it would add to the gameplay, since all cultures would have distinct advantages and disadvantages which could be exploited. The way I was thinking of it was that European would have a stronger technology tree, but the other cultures would have other advantages, and they could catch up to the Europeans by becoming allies with Europeans and asking for their help, which would enable the other cultures to research the tech as well (note that tech trading should be illegal). Maybe after a civilization researches enough techs of another culture, it could pay a high cost to switch trees.
