Japan asks around if all countries would be alright if they "snuck" into Thailand to make up for the lost Indonesian territory. Japan specifically asks Russia and the Serish Confederation. Meanwhile, Japan builds 100 destroyers, if we're going by the 4% system. :P ---- If most of the countries are okay with it, specifically Sere's and Russia, then annexing has begun.

I'm not going to vote. I think we'll have to wait till tomorrow. Then you could post the reasons for whatever system you want, so we can be informed and have a good understanding of what you're positions are.

Well of course. It's just that I remember someone was using 5% of their GDP, so I'm just wondering what everyone goes by, or if they just go with reasonableness.

Not budget, but surplus. Like random money that you have to throw around without any harmful effects.

That reminds me, are we going to figure out a rough standard to determine the surplus of a country that you can spend on random things? So far I've been using Doom's 1% of GDP system, but I'm not sure if everyone uses it. I'm not trying to over complicate the game, but I think a rough standard should be used. What does everyone else think?

Japan begins moving towards a militarily-isolationist but economically oriented foreign policy. GDP growth continues to do well, led mainly by defence projects and exports. The big 7 Japanese companies have grown a total of 18% in sales recently, with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Honda-Toyota as the leaders in that growth. Japan moves for a 5% flat tariff on goods entering and leaving Italy and bound for Japan, or vice versa. This rate is standard for all nations not in the FETA.

In real life, Guinea is a tribal state with 5 million people. After my development...well it's a large part of the country so probaly 50 million+. We can always say people immigrated. :P

During Japan's reign, many people moved to Guinea. There is a major city there right now. (In which case I will put another 25 million on the job. So that basically means every 5 people makes a barrel of oil per year. Hmmmm)

Well oil and algae have two different methods of increasing production. Oil relies on tapping wells, which admittingly doesn't supply much labor. On the other hand, algae crops grow within 12 days and require intensive labor for intensive gain. Considering there are 25 million people working the algae fuels, I think that it's fair. (150 million or less, whatever you want under that)

Treaty of Guinea Guinea will secede from the union to join Australia (basically what it showed on the map). All defences are to be dismantled, and Australian companies should start moving in to replace the Japanese algae industry, which accounts for 40% of employment. Do you agree to these terms Ross? -------- Japan (or Indonesia rather) supplies Germany-France with all its gasoline, as well as all of Japan. That is big production.

Err, I'll fight if my already low international standing doesn't get any worse...and the fighting should be isolated to Indonesia, since we don't really want to destroy each other. What do you say Ross?

Well all the land I annexed was of small countries. Anyways, the 150 million live in Guinea, so they wouldn't be moved.

And as Japan, I think I need land much more than he does.

I propose an alternative trade. How about you get Guinea and 150 million of the population which just happens to reside there? :P ---- The reason I am offering this is because you have plenty of land, but a small population...so this should work fine.

Well I was trying to tread softly. People just keep making terrible demands.

The problem with that one more country thing is that everyone is just going to gang up on me again and say that they would never join Japan. That's why I'm so insistent about Indonesia. I'm unlikely to win anymore battles, so I am just fighting to keep what I have. Can't you understand that Ross? Wait...so if there was never a plebicite.... Okay, I'm back. :D
