This is a very basic question. I have only do this solo. What do people mean by a "5:5" large dungeon?

Does anyone have advice on how to trap that silly ferret ( not the one with the fish, but the other one. )? Is there some kind of method that seems to work?

I think that two things happened with Dung. 1) There had to be employees at Jagex who had serious concerns about making this a skill. But, as companies get larger, and paychecks get fatter, employees tend to keep their concerns to themselves if they clash with the powers that be. Institutions have difficulty coping with people who say no, this is not good. You must be a team player or endanger your career with the company. So, an Institutional Imperative takes over, where bigness can actually bring less insight and creativity. So, Dung happens. 2) Jagex had a lot of Sunk Costs in this mini-game. There is a tendency to resist abandoning a project after a large amount of time, money and resources have been spent on it. If you play Dung just a little, you can see that a huge amount of effort went into its creation. So, you look at your Sunk Costs and start thinking of the best way to get your investment back. Just a mini-game? That would be something that would few would play, and all that work would not be much appreciated. So, make it a skill. People train skills. They want their position on high-scores. They want to be able to do activities such as quests that require certain skill levels. Making it a skill forces play and allows Jagex to do other things with it. And if free-to-play players like Dung a lot (which some of them surely will) it is just one more reason to buy membership. Making Dung a skill is probably more about making money than making good game-play. I predict that the future attempts to integrate Dung into the larger game will come off feeling as forced as the skill classification felt in the first place. I still look forward for the future mini-game that gives experience for this skill. Someone commented earlier that mini-games give slower experience than the skill itself. I feel confident that with Dung, slower experience is simply not possible.

Since obtaining XP is so slow in Dung, I hope Jagex creates an alternative way of training it say, in a fun mini-game, for instance.

lol that makes rushing a very good option! Time is not a factor. He said that the XP given for a floor is based on how long they expected a floor to take. If you do it faster than their estimate, you get the XP for that floor faster, but you dont get more XP. Since you are faster, you are doing more floors per hour than they expected, therefore more XP per hour, but not more XP per floor.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. People talk about clearing a dungeon in 10 minutes; but I have never been so fast. I always solo, so that may be the reason. But ONE minute into the dungeon and they find and kill the boss? Either I am the worst Dunger in the world, or some people are exaggerating a little with their times.

My point is that if Dung was a skill, in the accepted meaning of a skill in Runescape, it would be recognized by the users as a skill regardless of its classification. The ONLY reason that Dung is considered a skill is because Jagex has labeled it as such, not because of its play and effect. The fact that Dung would not be recognized as a skill for any reason other than Jagexs labeling it as such means that, based on its game play, it is not a skill and only a mini-game. Again, if Dung had been released as a mini-game only, do any of you really believe that you would see one, even ONE, post on the forums insisting that it should be classified as a skill? I dont think so. Many of you are making the skill vs. mini-game debate too complicated. Does it play and feel like all the other skills? If so, it is a skill. Does it play and feel like all the other mini-games? If so, it is a mini-game. What Jagex wants to call it does not affect your experience. If you called a dogs tail a leg, how many legs would it have? Four! Calling a tail a leg does not make it one.

To everyone who is defending the classification of Dung as a skill, let me ask this one question: If Dung had been released simply as a mini-game, and there was no previous discussion from Jagex about the release of a new skill, how many of you would be clamoring, demanding even, that Dung be reclassified as a skill instead of a mini-game? **crickets** I thought so.

I believe that the release of Shattered Heart shortly before the Dung Mini-Game was no coincidence. Shattered Heart encourages and assists in leveling the 15 non-combat skills. And the further I go in Dunging, the more important high levels in these non-combat skills becomes. I am only level 26 in Dunging, but I am wondering if finishing the high Dung levels will be even possible without relatively high non-combat levels. Maybe this is why Jagex considers Dung a skill. It is not a skill, but an all-skill. If one wanted to guess at what Jagex considers the future of Runescape to be, drawing from Dunging, my guess is that they are going to place a greater importance in having a balance of all the skills, making leaving behind one or more skill to be an increasingly large detriment.

If you notice, even though the point has been raised repeatedly, no one defending Dung as a skill addresses it. The problem is not just the label of skill. If that is all it was, who would care? The problem is that having Dung classified as a skill will have other consequences in the game; for instance, the ability to do a quest or finish an achievement diary. I am sure there are others as well; the law of unintended consequences is a [bleep]. This complaint is just ignored, probably because it will not matter for months, or even years. But the day when someone cant do a quest, and therefore not be able to wear his quest cape, or get to a particular spot, or get a certain drop, and then they will then lament the classification of Dung as a skill, and not just the mini-game that it is. Before dismissing the complaint of the skill label, you may want to consider that those with concerns may be looking further down the road than you are.

Hey, I liked the parody song; it was pretty cool. The problem with this mini-game as a skill is that soon people will tire of it, like they do all mini-games. How would you like to train Pest Control or Stealing Creation to some hypothetical level 99? Man, you would hate the game long before getting there. That is what is going to happen here. People enjoy it now because it is new. But, when you are trying to raise your Dungeoneering Skill from 85 to 88 because some quest requires such a level, you will be cursing what happened yesterday. As a mini-game it is fun. But, it is just another way of doing everything else in Runescape. At some point, everyone will ask, why am I doing Runecrafting or Mining or Smithing or whatever in Dungeoneering when I could be doing the same thing much faster and easier in the regular game, and get to keep the results to boot? (Actually, the Skill is two days old and they are already asking that.) So, for everyone who thinks that this is great as a skill, we will check you out in six months after 4 more mini-games have been added, a new Godswar dungeon is in play and new areas have been provided and see if you are still training Dungeoneering, or if you have given it up for good. For, there is no more game incentive to train this skill than to train any other mini-game. Would you train Soul Wars, or Stealing Creation, or Castle Wars to level 99? Of course not. And no one else would either. That is why making this a skill is such a colossal mistake.

Not only is this not a skill, you cant even see skill from where this is standing. Like all other mini-games, this will slowly be abandoned, with only those few who happen to like that particular game continuing to play it. The high-scores will be a mockery, discouraging real skillers from training. The level of disinterest that will be shown towards this skill will be epic. Why dont we make Stealing Creation and Soul Wars skills also, completely confusing what kind of game this is intended to be.

Summoning comes to mind. Seeing as it was the most recent skill released before Dungeoneering, I'd say jagex is looking to start explaining all of their new skills. I don't remember any Summoning tutorial... I remember a quest, called Wolf Whistle, but no actual tutorial. Herblore had that same thing, a quest that introduced the skill. And an introductory quest is far different from an uninformative minigame tutorial.

Shattered Heart Discussion
My guess is that after you build the complete statue in your house, you get armour and/or weapons that can be used in game. The armour and/or weapons will give a boost to your Constitution Level. And, no, they will not be tradable.
