Jagex would be extremely naive if they think that people will pay 15$ more a month or 10$ dollars more just to play 2007scape. There are many private servers that people can use and play for free.

Ah delusional hope. I'm betting it falls short or maybe hits the 250k mark. Numbers clearly back me up. Closing in on 70k votes, 17 hours left. If we just average 3k votes will have almost 130k votes before tomorrow. I'm 100% sure this will hit 250k by Monday or Tuesday.

Peak time is within 5 hours for the US. If we just average 5k votes for the rest of the day we will have 100k votes before tomorrow. This is really breaking it down though It's very likely we see 130k+ votes LMAO this sounds like the Presidential Elections all over again.

Here's why those ridiculous assumptions are made: Those people who quit because of EoC went to play private servers. Of course they will come back for 2007scape.

True. But, there has to be some kind of measurement that Jagex used for them to even attempt digging through their archives for 2007scape. That measurement is the demand for old school private servers. You have 317-474 (old school) server and 550-614+ (new) servers. The 317-474 servers garnered so much attention to the point server owners started making serious money (Donations, Ad-sense, selling ingame items, etc). 550 rev. servers are doing shit.

I just don't get what all the fuss is about. Lets just wait and see what the community wants tomorrow. If this thing fails then Runescape moves on. It appears to me that the few who are against 2007scape are scared of it becoming dominant and everyone quitting main-stream RS. What Jagex is doing is giving us a Democracy. This is to put all the whiners to rest. If 2007scape fails life moves on, if not then Jagex will know what the majority of it's players want and act accordingly.

I like the graphics that come with it, but honestly, PVP just feels like it's a competition of button mashers. EOC Pros: Graphics, cool moves, skills, etc. Cons: No specials, which render many weapons useless (like claws, godswords,etc.), "Balanced" weapon tiers, meaning every weapon of the same metal (like dragon 2h, dragon dagger, dragon scimitar) has roughly the same damage per second, rendering 95% of weapons useless since you should now just use the weapon that offers the best attack bonus in order to break through any high defence, stupidly quick kills due to the ridiculously overpowered specials, the "rock-paper-scissors" style gameplay where black d'hide has the same armour as dragon plate but is just a different "type", the fact that certain creatures that shouldn't use things like magic or ranged now do.....

Thus, I have no idea why you're defending EoC. It's extremely out of place. Trying to integrate a high tech system into a Java browser game simply wont work. Runescape has become so slow and full of lag compared to couple of years ago, it can't take on extreme content unless it's game engine gets a major overhaul. Runescape barely handled Runetek 5 in 2009, and what they're doing to it right now is really excessive. Sure it looks nicer, but would you take looks over game play? You like EoC? Fine, you'll get to keep it. But the majority of the players are against it and we want the basic RS back. We can all enjoy what we like.

Well, I'm pretty sure at least 3/4 of the users online will switch to the 2007scape server. All this anti 2007scape talk is coming from people who are scared to lose EVEN MORE people from main-stream RS. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that Jagex could possibly dismantle main-stream RS if 2007scape indeed proves to become successful.

Jagex is finnaly listening to its REAL fan base. There a massive company. They know what they are doing and they will get back to their prime. Stop being so delusional.

This is the reason why I'd like to see a creation date requirement for voting. Let it be 1 month even. That way you get less "Rigged" votes. Ideally it would even go back to 07 or older because then you get people who actually know what the game was not all the whiners who just want EoC gone. They have the right to 'whine' its exactly what you're doing. On a side not, The date creation would benifit the 2007 more than the reffer a friend. Just stop. PLEASE STOP. I [bleep]ed up everybodys arguments when I pointed out how just ONE server had more than 80k users. 95% of the Runescape community doesn't like where Runescape is going. Evident with the graph I post a few pages back. Subscribers are on the downfall. Jagex know what they are doing. I garuntee you in 2 weeks we will have 750k votes sir.

A problem with a poll here is alot of people are for EoC. I noticed a slight downfall in activity here since EoC release. This could be a reason why the poll here has that sort of impact, because of the pre-eoc combat people left. People just don't realize that RS was never supposed to have something like EoC. It's out of its limits. RS is a web browser game and we like it just how it is. If we wanted a real bad ass combat system we would all play WoW.
