  1. While the poll here shows everyone is against 2007scape, Runescape.com will certainly show at least 500k votes starting tomorrow.
  2. My reason for not voting is that I don't believe EoC was a step in the wrong direction. However, dividing the game/community in two is. Obviously the existence of 07 servers will generate jagex more money in the short term. However if it ends up failing and the players on it quit (a proportion of which may have come around to eoc given time) then they'll end up losing out. Many of the people who want to play this game haven't played the main game for years and do you really think that everyone is so obsessed with runescape that if they dislike eoc they will stick around? i think this change was so drastic that it was a no brainer to a lot of people to just move to private servers or other games. That's why you see only 40,000-50,000 people online at certain time of the day. You cant keep players in a cage, eventually they'll break out and realize that there are still thousands of Non-eoc runescape servers that people are developing every day. Jagex finally realized this and they know they cant put a stop to all of them, so they would rather beat them by making a superior product. Some people are mislead and think that a few people whining on the RS official forums made this happen, but in reality it was mostly the numbers that visit private servers every day + the poll by some youtuber that started all this madness. A lot of us believe that 2006scape was made by Jagex. It was a private server that had over 200,000 registered accounts, before it was shut down. That's like 70-80k individuals. Jagex really did their homework on this.
  3. True. And once they DO come back and yall realize where all the fun is at.... I'll leave it at that. If this whole thing becomes a sucess, more than haf of the users online will be on the 2007 servers. Enjoy your empty worlds. This ^ Seriously ... lol, everyone on this board is so negative "i don't want bla bla bla" ... i can't wait to get to 250k. I will gladly pay $5 extrah löl. Over the years I've noticed that Tipit has more realists than idealists, and with that comes critical thinking about the positives and negatives. I honestly think that some people are getting caught up in nostalgic hype. True. And once they DO come back and yall realize where all the fun is at.... I'll leave it at that. 4. I disagree. Runescape is a unique game. RS was never a massive MMO like WoW. It's different being that it's a Java based browser game. What Jagex tried to do was make Runescape more than what it was supposed to be.
  5. The obvious is not too clear for you guys right now. What Jagex wants to do is bring back the 2007 servers and update them simultaneously as in a way to start over. To see where they went wrong and what we as a community really wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or so 2007 servers become extremely dominant and Jagex dismantle current Runescape.
  6. Here's a list of significant things that will not be included in the 2007 servers that somebody had put on Reddit. [hide] Bosses God Wars Dungeon Corporeal Beast Tormented Demons Glacors Quests All quests above and including Path of Glouphrie in the full list of quests Legacy of Seergaze (+ Branches of Darkmeyer) Spirit of Summer (+ Summer's End) Temple at Senntisten Nomad's Requiem Most of the Void series (Void Dance onward) While Guthix Sleeps (+ Ritual of the Mahjarrat) Smoking Kills Skills Summoning Dungeoneering Your current skills "Grimy" Herbs (They will be "unids") ZMI Altar Slayer Reward Points Herblore Habitat and Juju potions Combat High level potions (Super Antifire, Extremes, Overloads, Renewals) Kuradel Surge spells Ancient Curses Dragon Defender Damage Soaking Autocasting without a staff, autocasting god spells and Iban Blast Dragon Claws, Godswords, and Chaotics A working combat triangle Minigames Fist of Guthix Stealing Creation Soul Wars Conquest Clan Wars Distractions and Diversions Fish Flingers Familiarization Balthazar Beauregard's Big Top Bonanza craptered Heart (aka "Strange Rocks") Court Cases Miscellaneous The Grand Exchange All Acheivement Diaries and Task Sets except Easy, Medium, and Hard Karamja Orb of Oculus (no 2007 machinima) No cooldown for Home Teleport (was 30 minutes) Max, Completion, and Milestone capes All rares (Not because rares were post-2007, but rather because everyone will start from scratch on 2007scape) Banks Tabs Search Deposit/Withdraw X Bank space counter Left-click Bank (instead of Talk) Money pouch Price checker Game Mechanics LootShare and CoinShare RuneScape HD Item Lending In-game world selection/hopping Photo Booth / Forum Avatars DirectX mode This means that certain game recording software such as Fraps will not be able to hook into RS2007 Z-buffering, a major animation update Bank equip screen Separate clan and friends chats Any game language other than English XP tracker and pop-ups [/hide]
  7. There is no future with EOC folks. Face it. Only the minority like it. Everyone else hates it, and on Friday i'll let the community speak for itself. SHUT UP ALREADY AND REALISE THE BIGGER PICTURE. THE BIG PICTURE IS THAT EVERYONE WANTS THE OLD RUNESCAPE BACK SIR! Jagex realizes it. They threw so much things at their players that were not needed. Everything was fine and dandy in 2007.
  8. There is no future with EOC folks. Face it. Only the minority like it. Everyone else hates it, and on Friday i'll let the community speak for itself.
  9. There is a correlation. 06-07 was the peak of RS. Why did it magically drop after 08? It's to the result of Jagex's actions that failed miserably. Jagex wants to see if they could get back some of their members with 2007 servers. Edit: AND if a lot of players do come back, then Jagex will probably dismantle this new RS for the old one. Money talks folks. They have to see what works for them, and right now the noise is for the 474 client.
  10. Obviously they had periods of increased membership subscriptions (Wildy and free-trade coming) but the picture as a whole shows that SINCE 2008 membership subscriptions have fallen. They never really ever went over 1 milion since then.
  11. Sigh. You're using such a small sample to prove that membership subscriptions are on the raise?
  12. I remember reading an article in Feb. 2008 where Jagex states they lost only 60k members.
  13. Buying skewed statistics reading. You're interpreting the gradual trend downards over 5 years as a change in a week or so. Granted the numbers DID go down, you cannot solely attribute it towards the removal of Free Trade and Wildy. A few words stick out: Squeal of Fortune and Solomon's. You can see that all the MMO's are starting to lose player numbers anyway. LOL Squeal of Fortune and Solomans havent been out for than a year. The drop immediatly started after 08 or right around when Jagex nuked themselves - and it hasn't gotten back up. It's only getting worse.
  14. Evidently in this graph, you can see how Jagex lost nearly 500,000 subscriptions since right before 2008 (The point where they nuked themselves by removing the wilderness and free-trade). There's a reason why they lost that many players. A lot of subscribers liked how the game was. IF people did get over the 06-07 era, why is Jagex still losing subscribers?

  16. Rests on the assumption that every vote received will translate into a subscription. Either way, they profit.
  17. Numbers really work in Jagex's favor (Business wise): 50,000 or more votes: Jagex made 397,500 Dollars 250,000 or more votes: Jagex made 1,987,500 Dollars 500,000 or more votes: Jagex made 3,975,000 Dollars 750,000 or more votes: Jagex made 5,962,500 Dollars
  18. I know alot of pvp clanners will be excreting in their pants at the sight of this.
  19. Yeah, but then most of them will leave Main RS and leave you guys with a better enviornment. Are you really that naive? Before I was putting it down to a lack of forum experience, but now I see you're completely delusional. First of all, Gold Farmers need bots right? The only working bot for the 474 client is SCAR which is now dead. The only possible bot people could use is SIMBA but it needs to be programmed for the 474 client. Okay maybe I was being naive excuse me for that but look at least it would improve the situation. The problem with todays Runescape is that it's just tooo damn easy to bot. Download the bot, enter your information, click play, and you are set. SCAR and SIMBA are extremely complex to use. So when a lot of players leave regular RS for the old RS, the gold farmers will lose even more possible future customers. So RSGP will have really no value and in a way Gold Farmers will decrease. They will shift their balance to the old RS servers and trust me there will be a difference in the amount of Spam bots.
  20. Yeah, but then most of them will leave Main RS and leave you guys with a better enviornment.
  21. The way I read it was, if you get <249,999 that membership fee will stand. So you better hope your 300k is pretty solid. Trust me there is enough. Don't forget plenty of people will purchase membership once again just to vote. (Like myself) This relies upon the assumption that many who quit still lurk around as they have not been able to move on, opposed to them being long gone and oblivious to rs developments. It also relies on the assumption that they are willing to spend $5 just to vote on the off chance it *might* get them back a game they quit playing. Both these premises to me seem flimsy at best, downright ludicrous at worst. Many of them still do exist. I've proven that by pointing out all those servers with ridiculous amounts of supporters.
  22. The way I read it was, if you get <249,999 that membership fee will stand. So you better hope your 300k is pretty solid. Trust me is. Don't forget plent of people will become purchase membership once again just to vote. (Like myself) And I'm sure you a credible way to substantiate your claims, correct? The numbers clearly work to get at least 300k votes, it's been proven in the past few posts. 700k+ maybe a stretch... But we shall see in a few more days.
