  1. Then a city should not be allowed. Mechanically it's the same as having a massive leadership score or a wealth-factory.
  2. Pathfinder has rules for a reason and they won't always favour you.
  3. The city should not be based on guesswork. I will send the kingmaker pdf over to you on Steam. Since the campaign is not kingmaker the XP gain from cities won't exist. Withdrawals should also not be allowed in a non-kingmaker campaign - Retech says that he doesn't want to make money off the city so that should be fine.
  4. Why, Nex? - I'm just writing the session now - is the party heading to Restov or Oakdale? Edit: Decided to fund the creation of my own city, it will be about half a days travel from Oakdale.
  5. We were attacked by bandits, we interrogated and then executed them. They had their village raided by mercenaries. We continued our path onto a different village where the mayor asked us to help with a task. Some mercenaries had entered the grave of stone-eye and after a lot of fumbling around we finally managed to open the door. Inside was a group of mercenaries - Retech was insistent on letting them free after they surrendered so we let them go free. We got a reward and decided to progress onto Restov. Archi doesn't seem to be on at the same times as me, so if he comes online at a time when I am not online can somebody please contact him and ask whether he is able to GM on Saturday. If Archi is not able to: Retech, if I write a session for you (modify as you please) could you please run one? Also, what are the thoughts on getting rid of alignment: Paladins abolished, nobody is playing one so it's fine. Clerics are treated as neutral. Detect alignment lets the DM give a short fragment of their personality: short-temper, bumbling-idiot or whatever. Protection from X only affects the innately aligned (demons, devils, undead; angels, aeons, agathions)
  6. Was a fun session. What are the thoughts on changing the session to Saturday?
  7. I was discussing this with Retech last night, and with online tools I can get generic combat down to a few seconds. >implying anybody actually roleplays
  8. Session tonight :) Edit: oh, it's tomorrow silly me. Mather has agreed to craft me a Headband of Alluring Charisma so instead of taking time out of adventuring we can just assume it was crafted beforehand by him.
  9. Mather has headed North, assuming that he is travelling about 25 miles an hour (240ft fly speed) and depending on how many hours he wants to travel he (I would assume eight, as that's a day) he will have headed a little north of Ioboria - likely it would be a little colder there. Mather will have lost his fly speed now. I think it would be fair to allow Mather to join up with the party again if he wants to. The rest of the party has decided to head to the paladins in Mendev, taking the most direct route from where they are in Ioboria to Mendev is 1200 miles, and that will still put them in the wilderness, they would need to travel another 100 to reach the capital. Of course this is the most direct route, assuming that you were to walk right through Brevoy in a straight line so you might want to save arriving in Mendev for a few sessions. It would take 400 hours to walk there (assuming 30ft speed) therefore 133 days assuming that we would walk 8 hours a day and not accounting for rest and such. There is the lake of mists and wells but considering we are starting in Eastern Ioboria it will only partially cut the time of our trip. We could either a cheesy time-skip or a session or two of accelerated hitch-hiking with a few adventures on the way, or we could stay in Ioboria and fight barbarians :P.
  10. I'm playing beastmorph or a weaker master summoner then.
  11. The issue isn't wholly templates, it is that you have optimised far more than the rest of the group - with saves in their fourties. If templates would fix that then I would support getting rid of theme but I think a lot of your extremely high saves have come from playing a tiny character.
  12. No, you said that if I play a small character you will attack me because I'd be stealing your thunder. I had hoped there wasn't going to be PvP but since you have already began threatening it, I would rather be able to defend myself instead of giving into your blackmail and essentially becoming your [bleep]. Blackmail never ends. I would of course prefer just toning down optimisation to a reasonable level.
  13. [spoiler=WIP] Name: Class: Master Summoner: Race: Changeling (fine size) Alignment: CG STR: 6 (-2) DEX: 47 (+18) CON: 15 (+2) INT: 24 (+7) WIS: 26 (+8) CHA: 36 (+13) Initiative: 22 AC: 44 Touch AC: 12 Fort Save: +4 Ref Save: +20 Will Save: +13 Feats: Improved Initiative Augment Summoning Toughness Hover (1 more) Optimisation escalation so I can keep up with Retech.
  14. Do you reckon that it's worth creating a poll for templates? Edit: created one Edit2: If nobody has any comment about Half-Celestial then it's just going to default to losing a level, and by that level you will suffer in your lack of boons and contacts.
  15. I agree with this. Part of the fun of these games is actually levelling into a powerful character rather than starting off as a nigh-demigod with DR and a fly speed.
  16. Dream Creature is 3rd party, and thus irrevocably prohibited. Why can't anyone take Half-Celestial? Third party is allowed on a case-by-case basis. This template is both weaker and better fitting to the campaign than the ghost. People can take half-celestial, however at level 11 the template will change to +3 which opens the question of whether people should sacrifice a level for the template or everybody else gain another free template. I prefer the first option, adding more templates might make the campaign a little bit too high-powered, although it is fairly high-powered already. Edit: I would go Lycanthorpe but the -2 CHA is a total killer, any chance of switching that with INT? It would still be weaker than the ghost.
  17. At level 11, since most of the party have taken the half-celestial template the others will have to gain another template of CR+1. We have not yet decided on a campaign name. I would like to change the title of the thread. Would somebody please offer some suggestions. These are the templates I am considering taking. Divine Guardian CR+1 Dream Creature CR+1 Dream creature changes: removal of +2 bonus to illusions, removal of -2 weakness to sleep. Change of sleep song to be a standard save rather than one based off a skill check (which I agree is overpowered) I've just realised that I have forgotten to give XP for the first session, I've made a party total based on the encounters. 2800 XP
  18. Level 4 Bricks for this level: 2/6 [][] [][][][][][] [][][][][][] [][][][][][] [][][][][][]
  19. Who is going to be the DM next week? The options seem to be Alg or Archi
  20. Point proven. Creatures with the fire subtype only have a weakness to cold. The water produced by create water isn't cold, room temperature I assume. You can create 8 gallons of water at this level, this means it would take 93 turns to fill up a 5x5x5 metre room - assuming that it's watertight (not many rooms have watertight doors) then you would have to wait 20+ rounds for this enemy to drown.
  21. It's more about the fact that it's my only will-based save or die spell, mechanically there's no difference between turning a person into a squirrel permanently or having themselves compelled to throw themselves in a river - Mather assumes that killing people with create water is a viable way to kill people, he certainly doesn't understand the mechanics. I won't be taking the ghost ability (instead taking frightener) because of it's range restriction but the actual spell should not be restricted on account of it being unfair. Although I take objection to long-term godmodding of a character (through indefinite geasing), something mechanically equivalent to baleful polymorph just shouldn't logically be banned.
  22. Yes, spellcasters can be OP; they make up for it with low AC and HP - welcome to D&D. Magic Jar is balanced because while a wizard attacks his body is helpless - that's why they're called glass cannons.
  23. 1.) Nothing was agreed, it was barely brought up. 2.) Not a good enough reason to ban something because you don't think it's fair. Spellcasters don't fight fair, get used to it. If PC-to-PC mind control is banned justifiability then I'm going to need a replacement save or die of equal level: http://www.d20pfsrd..../flesh-to-stone.
  24. PC to PC mind control shouldn't be removed, obviously it should be used in excess but as with all things it's based on rule of thumb. If PKing occurs I don't want my only good save or die removed. I'm up for attempting to break the Cheliaxian choke point into the Arcadian Sea.
  25. Mather is right on this one, initially Mather found the collection of wine being kept in the caves for storage and took it. Earth found a single bottle of fine wine in the kitchenette. It's obviously quite heavy so that will need to be calculated before the assumption that Mather has ran off with all the heavy treasure. It's 150 lbs. but can be sold as a fine art piece ranging from 3,000 GP - 4,000 GP, it's also unnervingly realistic, you get the feeling that you're being watched.
