  1. Many people... Or should I said too many people get worked up over botting. Runescape's game design is grinding oriented, and while I don't think it's the ideal game to play, that won't prevent most people from playing. But what is important to understand is Jagex is a company. For Jagex, it is not realistic to hire mods to ban accounts, as if you have any idea how their profit works, it will overall not affect their revenue that drastically. To enjoy runescape, be proud of your accomplishments - tell yourself "I did what 80% of the people had to use bots for." Now these are the most sucessful rubescape players, and well it depends how you define sucess. At this point I don't know what point of view I am trying to support, but I ask myself the question... "Why do you play a game a bot can do just as well". I'm not saying video games are bad, they are a marvelous and generally speaking cheaper way to escape reality, but I think most people that play runescape haven't tried other games. The problem with games like WoW and Runescape is you will regret it afterwards. You finally achieved your goal of 99 cooking, great, but are you better at this game? I know some people are thinking "Who is he to tell me how I should live" but Ive been through it, and I hope you welcome my words with an open heart. Runescape is a little like weed to be honest. I'm not too sure at the general age group of the forum, but there are numerous mature and educated members here which raises my cheeks. On to the metaphor. A little pot is harmless, it can be used as a social activity, a time to relax, but if done too much, it leads to degration of social life, family relations, and overall lack of preparation for the real world. Now I want to day I love people, regardless of skin, etc. And I DO want people to not have regrets. Don't play too much runescape, better yet, if you love games try something that doesn't focus on a lot of time to reach accomplishments. Games like Starcraft, where no matter how much you play, against a person your fight will begin with no advantage, besides the experience you learned previously. Not only do such games reward you more for improvement, they don't take over your daily life routine. Hopefully I haven't upset anyone, and I suppose to adress te topic at hand, it will be a lot healthier to not play Runescape if bots bother you. It is as volunteering at Mcdonalds against a machine for the sake of competition. Good luck to everyone, if anyone wants some help quitting Runescape, and they feel they play too much. Admitting it is the first step, then you can send me a email at [email protected] and I will try helping you get back on track. Obviously free, it's just I know the importance of having someone... Just be there. There's many unexplored wonders and adventures. Cheers (:
  2. Nice to see some StarCraft players around! :)... I am actually hah, I really just enjoyed PvP, I had a 99range, 96~mage, 90str, 40att pure. Not sure how much you know about me, but well I played and still play poker for a living, and inbetween tournaments I needed something to do. Obviously Warcraft3 is pretty demanding mentally and when I'm just tired it was fun to just PvP and relax. A few of my friends played so it was fun stuff!
  3. Hello Forum.tip.it, I have played Runescape for quite some while. I quit, but I am forever fascinated by the race to max experience. The dedication to reach that point is immense, and I enjoy picking my favorites and see if they are catching up and what not. Well my favorite player was Zarfot, and now that he quit I guess I'm rooting for Tezz, Paperbag, and S U O M I. I really enjoy this thread as I feel it is filled with intellectuals like me, and generally prompts a smart discussion that interests me. Well there's some info I recorded 140 days ago on the XP of all players, as I wanted to see how fast they are all progressing etc. That was before I found this thread. So I will share this information with you. This could probably be found using Runetracker, but if you have it in front of you, why not just soak it in instead of researching it yourself. Top 15 - 140 Days ago 1. Skiller - 2.341b 2. Zarfot - 2.278b 3. Jdelacroix - 2.175b 4. Drumgun - 2.101b 5. Gertjaars - 2.019b 6. Lan - 1.870b 7. Erw J - 1.854b 8. Elvis - 1.831b 9. Telmomarques - 1.805b 10. Elias - 1.758b 11. Kingduffy - 1.748b 12. Paperbag - 1.736b 13. S U O M I - 1.641b 14. Green098 - 1.593b 15. Tezz - 1.545b Top 15 - Current (As of yesterday) 1. Skiller - 2.604b 2. Jdelacroix - 2.462b 3. Drumgun - 2.430b 4. Telmomarques - 2.429b 5. Elvis - 2.362b 6. Zarfot - 2.353b 7. Elias - 2.233b 8. Tezz - 2.148b 9. S U O M I - 2.133b 10. Paperbag - 2.087b 11. Gertjaars - 2.019b 12. Kingduffy - 1.943b 13. Lan - 1.871b 14. Erw J - 1.854b 15. Green098 - 1.841b Highest Gainers XP Wise: 1. Telmomarques - 634mil 2. Tezz - 603mil 3. Elvis - 531mil 4. S U O M I - 492mil 5. Elias - 475mil 6. Paperbag - 351mil 7. Drumgun - 329mil 8. Jdelacroix - 287mil 9. Skiller - 263mil 10. Green098 - 248mil 11. Kingduffy - 195mil 12. Zarfot - 75mil 13. Lan - 1mil 14. Gertjaars - 0mil 15 Erw J - 0mil Now it's true that XP gained isn't the best representation of how much and how well a certain player was doing. But in this case I think the numbers represent it quite well. Our bottom 5 there are very justified, all inactive besides Kingduffy who seems to be going at a slow relaxed pace. Moving up the list, we have seen for a while that Jdelacroix and Skiller aren't in a rush, as well as Green098 who is taking her time. Lastly even Paperbag posted he is going at his own pace, which mind you - 350mil+ in under half a year is very good. Drumgun I expected to be higher, but nobody really knows what he's doing his 18 hours a day. Making money is obviously the most logical explanation, but when will he spend it? Now the Top 5 are insane. We all knew these are the 5 fastest gainers without a doubt, but wow, Tezz impresses me more than anyone. 600mil experience while training mainly slayer is crazy. Elvis and Telmomarques are going at a similiar speed we have seen for a while, but Telmomarques yielded a decent lead in the bonus weekend it seems. Suomi has a good gain for training those ridicolously slow skills he's been training, and Elias; not too shabby, keeping with the pace of the fight for first. Hope you enjoyed the read. I keep lurking so keep the 200mil all skills discussion going!
