  1. Personally, I want Harry to die in the end, cause otherwise it'd be too of a happy fairy tale ending, where the hero survives and the evil defeated. Although I really doubt JK Rowling will kill him off. As for the two major characters that will die, I also think one of them is either going to be Snape or Wormtail (I'm surprised we didn't see more of Wormtail in book 6) sacrificing themselves for Harry's (or the 'good' side's) sake. The other character that will die is probably going to be someone close to Harry, like Hagrid, or another character that means a lot to Harry, which would at least make the ending a little less happy and fairy tale-ish. And about the theory that Harry might also be a horcrux, I think it kinda makes sense and kinda doesn't, although I don't think it'll be like that in the books. It totally makes sense because the night Voldermort killed Harry, it is described that Voldemort gave a piece of himself to Harry (e.g that's why Harry can speak Parseltongue). Then on the other side, does this mean that Voldemort accidently made Harry a horcrux (on the night he tried to kill Harry)? If not, why would he make Harry a horcrux when he knew from the prophecy that he had to kill Harry ("Neither can survive while the other lives" or something in those words)? Also, I just have to mention that I also believe Snape is actually on the 'good' side.
  2. Well, we won't be doing anything until it actually actually happens, and by that time it'll be too late. Like my friend said the other day, we always say we're going to learn from our mistakes, that we'll be ready for the next disaster, but we will never learn. Judging by the replies, half of us don't even care, and don't even give it a second thought. Don't we even care if our children have to suffer through something we've caused? Gosh, we're just becoming more and more selfish and greedy.
  3. I try not to stereotype people, but it still happens. I probably do it at least once a day, on the subway, at school etc. I don't do it on purpose, I just automatically do it without even realizing what I'm doing.
  4. Suicide can be considered cowardly because it is a person not being strong enough to face up to life's problems and work through them. Yeah, I see what you mean. In my opinion, suicide is usually the last step you take, a step you take when you really see no hope in other solutions to your problems. People suiciding must have already tried to face their problems, but unfortunately lost all hope. Yes, for some people it takes more courage to live than to die, but for most people it takes more courage to die than to live. Why else would we be so afraid of death? I agree with indy500fan that commiting suicide takes a lot of courage. It is a selfish act, but coward? I don't really agree. Some people yes. Me, personally im not afraid, when it comes to me ill embrace it and be at peace. I've already ALMOST died once... To most people, yes. Most people are afraid of death, not all people are as open to death or as sane as you are.

  6. We have to do a five minute long speech on a topic in Swedish class, and we have to argue if we are for and against it. I chose to talk about active euthanasia. I personally am for euthanasia, and think it should be legalized, and here are some of my arguments. 1. We have different rights in life, and I'm pretty sure everyone will agree we should have a right to control our own life. Then we should also have a right to control our own death. So if you get sick and there is absolutely no cure, I think you have all the right in the world to die an earlier death to not have to suffer. 2. Who wants to suffer? Everything we've invented on earth makes life easier for us somehow, makes us suffer less, like for instance medicine. Wanting to escape the suffering is only human. I have more arguments for euthanasia, but I won't write them all here. I wanna know what your opinions on active euthanasia is.
  7. Well, you could always be the first to suggest it even though other schools don't have it ^_^ Yeah, well you have to start looking for a job before the day itself. And most shops, restaurants and other companies know about this day, so it's probably not so difficult to find one. Yeah, donating yourself is really good, but this "Operations dagsverket" is something for everyone, which makes it more fun, and you're more motivated, and you help others along the way.
  8. This Tuesday, my school in Sweden had something called "Operations Dagsverket". This is a day when every student that goes to high school looks for a job, and works for a few hours to earn about $30. In the end this money is turned in, and it is chosen to be donated to an organization helping the poor. This year the money collected is going to go to building schools in Rwanda. Last year students in Stockholm (the capital city) collected more than 6 million SEK (which is about $830000), and the year before that, about just as much. I think this is a really good way for students to get some working experience as well as help others. Does your school have a day like this? Or anything similar to this? If not, you should suggest this to your school principle or something, cause I think this is a brilliant way of helping yourself as well as others :D
  9. I can't even look into the sun for 1 second o.o And I read you can get blind by staring at the sun :/
  10. How can you have a hamster/mouse/rat/whatever you have in that cage in your room?? Doesn't it make a hell lot of noise when you sleep?! I have a mouse downstairs, and I can hear it eat and stuff when I'm upstairs. Hamster, hes called Mojo. I can't sleep when its too quiet, so he helps a lot, my pc is also on 24/7 with nice little mIRC sounds going on in the background and 5 fans keeping it cool :) I'm the exact opposite of you, can't sleep with the least sound. And you shoudn't keep your comp on 24/7 :o

    Anxiety

Yeah, when it comes to doing a speech infront of people, or doing a test or anything I get nervous of, I always try to think of other things to keep my mind off the nervous thing. It really helps. And also, ask yourself what there really is to be nervous about, and you'll see there's actually no reason to be nervous about it at all.
  13. I don't think writing a list of things to talk about is a good idea... that's just silly. Just call her, and hopefully conversation will float on fine, if it doesn't, then too bad.
  14. :o I definitely didn't know this flu has been going on for 10 years... I've never heard of it before. Media started reporting about deaths caused by bird flu this year and then they started having big headlines in the newspapers about how bird flu had reached Sweden, and so I thought this whole thing was some kind of new flu. God, we've slaughtered many birds..too many...
  15. This summer I'm going back to China again, although only for 3 weeks this time. Then in August my family's going to go to Puerto Rico!!!!
