  1. Well, before i bought the laptop, on of my friend told me that i should buy the additional ram with the laptop when i order it cause it will be more expensive.. Now, i am trying to buy an additional 1 g or 2 g ram.. and realize that the price does vary, but the speed of the ram varies too.. (667mh.. 800mh) My current ram (1g) comes from lenovo which is 1 g with 667 mh... on the site, it cost around 74 cdn dollar.. on other canadian computer sites, there are rams tat is also 1gb but 225mh speed.. costing around 49 cdn dollar.. If i have both the higher speed ram with the lower speed ram together on a laptop, would it go wrong?? I know it will probably be a bit slower.. but would there be conflict.. having one faster than the other?? Thanks
  2. ok i tried to download all of them.. neither one of them work.. saying tat its not the right one.. but look at the settings on the back.. it is gm965 chipset.. y doesn't it work?
  3. where should i extract these files to? btw thanks guys for the explaination.. :)
  4. also.. when i check for my graphic card stats.. it keeps telling me i have mobile intel 965 express chipset family.. it won't tell me i have GMA x3100 which is watts shown on the ads..
  5. Ok, my laptop has intel GMA x3100 graphic card, or at least it is wat says on the ads.. Recently, I've download some games, and some of them says my graphic card can't not support certain things..In other words, not good enough.. I know this is one of the not so well graphic card for gaming, but it takes a long time for me download and install games.. I just want to know how i can tell if my graphic card can support certain game before i download, so i don't waste my time.. When i look at most reqirements, it doesn't go into detail on the graphic card.. my graphic card has 256mb...and a lot of those games that i couldn't play had like 64 mb graphic card memory required, so i couldn't tell if my graphic card can acctually support it. My Ram is 1gb atm.. soon 2gb and cpu is 1.8 core 2 duo t7100... I like playing first person shooting.. any suggestion which game this comp can acctually support? Thanks

  7. i lost around 7 gb from last night to now.. (noon) .. could tat be because of vista? and yes both are up to date before i scan the comp..
  8. ok.. i wanted to start a new post cause the last one is getting too long.. What I have done to try to get rid of .. what ever this virus this is.. so far.. no use.. use the thinkvantage feature on my imb thinkpad to restore everything back to factory state.. this means it deleted everything that I installed or any upgrade.. vista reinstalled.. download.. norten, avg, adaware.. spy doctor.. found absoultely nothing.... right now i am doing a second scam, and so far.. nothing either.. Whats happening to my harddrive: I am losing free space at around .1gb at a time.. this happens when i go on internet for like 1 min, I lose .1gb.. and when i do virus scam or any activity that does not involve installing.. I lose free space.. so far it got from 94.4 gb of free space.. which is last night. to 87.8 gb which is now.. and it is still going down.. my total size for C drive is 105gb.. and around 15gb is hidden or used by the laptop itself which i do not know how to access.. My friend told me it is a worm that might have got into that 15gb part in which even after i reinstall vista, it comes right back and expands itself. I've tried to tract the size of program files and window file to see if there was any expansion, none. Is there anything manual I can do right now to get rid of what ever this thing is? Also, any idea where it is?
  9. I have not went online on the laptop yet.. as in.. no email or any of this forum thing.. only windows update and norten update.. right now.. i've lost 2.3 gb of free space.. which could be just the updates.. could it be a worm that got into my thinkvantage thing when i reinstalled it with it? I have ibm thinkpad which comes with this feature.. of reinstalling the system as if it came out of factory.. My friend's theory is that when u resintall the thing and it deletes away all my work, it should have formated c drive.. However, he said there is a chance that the worm got into the thinkvantage doc which is preloaded into the laptop.. as for the spacemonger thing, i will download it as soon as i figure out wats going on, cause i dont want anything else in yet.. any ideas?
  10. I restore the whole thing.. it begins with 94.4 gb of hardive free.. I pluged onto the internet for like 5 mins.. unpluged.. then realized my hardrive free space is constantly decreasing.. now it is 92.5.. would a windo update take up 2 gb of space? or is there something wrong?? and the decrease in hardrive, is constant.. so it was 94.4, thne 94.3.. so on..
  11. I restore it to factory now.. Not taking any chance.. Thank you guys.. you've been very helpful. Hopefully i don't get into downloading stupid stuff.. lol just a side question.. after doing this.. all virus and keylogger i had previously will be gone completely right?
  12. ok.. i think there is a virus in my computer. It eating around 3gb per hour. My friend think it is a wurm, but i don not want to take any chances. This is refering back to my original post about losing hardrive space. Ok, my option on thinkpad.. There is a think button i can press on the start of setup.. within one of the options from thinkpad, i can restore my computer to the state when it came out of factory. It says everything i added and created will be lost. Thats the least of my worry at the moment (my own stuff) What i am afraid is that it will also take away window vista which is a legi program. I do not want to go through another big setup. So do you guys think i should restore it to factory state? (thinkadvantage doesn't say if it will erase vista) Plz reply, if i am gonna do this, i need to do it soon because that (w/e virus it is) is eatting away
  13. Hi guys, I've tried both programs, for spacemonger, I am not sure what I have to delete. I am really clueless what is consumming my space GB at a time. I do not see any download of anything.. This seriously scares me cause it consuming at so high.
  14. nope, its not working.. I download the trial, and tried to enter the product key, didn't work. First, how would I know which version of office i had? Cause i have a feeling that the product key on the cd case is only for the OneNote program. Which could mean I will never know my original product key on the comp. Second, does anyone know where I can varify my product key through entering? Cause the one on microsoft website keeps checking my trial version and keeps saying, it valid. But I want to check my product key on my case..
  15. Hardrive: recently, I keep finding the amount of free space constantly going down.. it was like 72g of free space the day before.. 65g the next day.. then 55 gb of space yesterday.. I did not instal anything. Probably some updates on small programs.. Wondering whats going on.. with the massive of space being used up.. microsoft office: Well its a long story. When I bought the laptop, it came with this microsoft office CD (Turns out that it has only one program on it.. and it is microsoft onenote 07) when i go on microsoft programs like word of powerpoint, I typed in the CD key and it didn't work. (Later i realized i typed the Q wrong) Bascially I uninstalled microsoft office 07 from my system thinking that the CD that came with the laptop has the whole thing and i can reinstall it. It turned out tat it didn't. So i used my thinkpad backup program to retrieve my stuff from like 5 days ago. I went back to where the microsoft folder is, and found that size of the folder is around the same size as the orginal (around 550 mb) And all those program's icons are there too. Unfortunately, I tried to open some of these programs, they keep poping up boxes like " the last session failed, do you want to start in safe mode" and "your system space or memory is too low and can't continue the process" I kind of gave up with fixing these problems and is hopeing you guys know where i can download the whole thing. I have the product key, so I am not asking for some hacked version. Please answer ASAP, I need those programs :) Thanks
  16. Zammy because the red and blue looks really awsome..
  17. Please say why.. as i said in the first post.. Why you like gild armor..
  18. By best looking rune armor on f2p, I am talking about all types of rune armors. Zammy, Sara, Guthix, Regular full rune, Trimed rune armor, Golden rune armor. . Tell us which one, and why please :) Please do not consider the price of each, pretend you can choose one set for free and all are free with no market value. \
  19. is it suppose to be like that?
  20. ok, I just got my ibm t61 think pad.. I just have a question about the hardware.. I ordered a 1024mb ram and 120gb of hardrive However, when I checked it up, it only has 998mb of ram and 105 gb of room in c drive.. which in this case is the ONLY drive.. So, should I call them to find out what the problem is, or is this normal.
  21. srry.. i meant battery lol.. just a side question. Say i have no battery in, and the power suddenly goes off, would my laptop save my work ( its ibm thinkpad t16 which i am not quite familiar with)
  22. well basically I just bought a new laptop (thinkpad t 61) and I want to make sure I take good care of it from the start. (Hopefully don't screw it up like my last laptop from sony) I've heard that its best not to have the battery in when u r using the adapter because eventually it will shorten the battery's life. So it is suggested that you take you the battery OUT when plug into an adapter. The problem with taking out the battery is that, it first leaves this huge space in the back and I just don't want anything to get into them. (sometimes coke spill and stuff to get onto the surface where the battery is connected to) But back to the question, is it true that when you use adapter, don't have the battery in the laptop>?
  23. the price is 1099 cdn, do u think it is a good deal'?
