  1. So who else thought some of the additions for the minecraft 2.0 joke were good? Like tinted glass, I'd also really like to see that golden apple thing where you feed it to sheep and they fly away, just because that'd be hilarious. It just said animals so maybe other animals do other things, I only saw a sheep feed a golden apple on Guude's video.

  2. Why can't homosexuals have civil unions? if it's all about being able to love who you want and having legal rights, why must it be called "marriage"? Honestly, if the reason is to force people to consider homosexuality "normal", nobody's buying that.

And yeah I know, flame away...gays and closet gays (who typically are the loudest supporters of the lifestyle) are allowed to do that. I'm not allowed to disagree with the lifestyle choice, but it's ok that I be called bigot, insensitive, ignorant (and/or worse) for not subscribing to the idea a deviant sexual fetish is normal.

All that aside I understand the arguments on both sides...I just can't grasp why it MUST be called and compared to a traditional marriage. It's not.

It's not a sexual fetish; that's really just proof you don't get it. Homosexuals actually are attracted to the same sex, and really do love members of the same sex.

A sexual fetish would be something like, for me, glasses. I don't need a girl to have glasses, but i'm more physically attracted to girls with them. A homosexual on the other hand will never be attracted to a woman/man, no matter how hard he/she tries. There's a difference there. And there's different degrees of homosexuality but that's another argument.

As for marriage itself as opposed to civil unions, they're a little different in the rights they offer, while some other people want their marriage under god.

While we cant force religions to offer marriage under god to homosexuals because of that whole first amendment thing, we should give them the same legal rights at least.

  3. Is the 360 version that easy that you take on dungeons/night without any armor? Even on easy that's a fast way to die.

Anyway I decided to start over, in a different mod pack, Roots. and I spawned in the middle of a snow biome surrounded by plains, so i've had a rough start.

  4. I'm just sad in EE3 they're removing the destruction catalyst/catalystic lens. That leaves the only way of large area mining the quarry with no alternative anymore. I havent played around in thaumcraft 3, all my stuff was done in thaumcraft 2 but I doubt they've buffed the arcane bore enough that it can compete with the quarry.

Anyway, so I went to go get some glowstone from the nether today, and my game crashed while I was transitioning there. That causes you to lose all your stuff and spawn back at the original spawn. Luckily I kept my old armor in a separate chest, and keep a second klein star charging at my base. So even though I had to recraft my entire armor set, 324,727,942 EMC, I had the means to do it. Though my pick and weapon were the elemental weapons from thaumcraft, which i'll have to remake with a little more effort. Though really why would I kill anything with anything but a lightning strike.

I also decided to have some fun and fight the ocean with my volcanite amulet.

    [spoiler=Pictures]uZFoHFE.jpgzA2fA7b.pngA section i've cleared

  5. But an all diamond block house is just too bright. I know, i've been in that boat.

Anyway finished my going with the equivalent exchange mod now too, found a bug that makes it super easy AFTER I had made a massive energy collector to charge my star super fast, like 10k emc in a few seconds. Apparently if you have two alchemy bags with a black hole band inside, and you throw something out, the item gets sucked inside each bag in the inventory and gets duplicated. Granted they'd all need to have black hole bands/void rings or have two of the same color in my case. One day i'll make a huge base with everything inside it and make pictures. I wish technic was on a later version of MC though. I need beacons for my nearly godlike armor that while I wear it I can literally call lightning down to smite my enemies and I don't even take damage from the strongest mobs.

  6. So I caved in and bought the PC version as well. This game is much harder. I don't even get a map at the spawn, so I've got to dig all the way down for redstone, and the creepers don't fall for the "trap them behind two blocks" trick... they just go round them. Plus I've never really PC gamed before so the WASD controls are all very confusing. sad.gif

Is that what you were building in the diamondseekers server way back?

Anyway I've been doing a lot of Tekkit recently. Got the end-game items out of thaumcraft and completely finished all that stuff. That makes mining so easy and with the boots of the meteor I feel so slow at regular walking speed or even sprinting. I haven't built anything crazy yet, but i'm more of an explore type minecraft player than a builder.

  7. When trying to build my house at Winstad Manor i encountered a glitch where nothing would appear whatever i bult. I looked it up on Elder Scrolls Wiki and found this.

After going to the drafting table and selecting Small House Layout, the quest arrow stays on the drafting table. Then when building the house at the workbench the house doesn't show up.

Anyone know how to fix this I am on PC

    In the console type in

    SetStage <quest id> <stage value>

So in the skyrim wiki look up the name of the quest you're on. It should give you the quest id and the stage values. If it doesn't, you could find them somewhere online if you look. Though you should be running the unofficial patches found on the http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/. Unlike other mods, they don't change gameplay, they're just packs of bug fixes.

  8. First day, I already have all the games I want that are on sale.

Though I will say, Mirror's edge for $5? Totally worth it. Though you need a controller. Well if you want to actually PLAY the game. It was made for a controller.

  9. The fact that apparently Arthur is now animated in Flash.

    The kid's show?

    Yep.

    And it. Looks. Terrible.

Whose idea was it to animate a 30 minute television show entirely in Flash? They should be fired.

    From a cannon.

MLP:FiM wants to talk to you. Proof that things animated in flash don't have to look terrible. Even if you don't like the show, i'm sure we can agree it's well animated, and it's done in flash.
  10. Pretty chill day none the less. Also we had an earthquake last night. Fun stuff.

    HE'S ALIVE.

Anyway wrecked and totaled my car today. Got away with a pinched nerve that makes my arm hurt whenever I move my arm.

I'm more worried about the car than about myself at this point. I don't have the money to get another car and/or get plates for it. I have no idea how i'll get to work, and when I called up there to tell my manager I probably won't be there tomorrow, I just got a "Well try." Really? Did you not just hear what I just said to you? Today hasn't been a good day. At the very least I didn't hit anybody.

  11. Just when my luck was turning around.

Starter motor on my car died today while doing a job hunt run. was stuck in the 30*C heat for 2 hours waiting for a tow truck and $150 out of my limited pocket.

    :(

only thing that cheers my up for today is my birthday's in 6 days.

    Happy birthday in six days.
  12. For most of the year the forum was basically dead. It's made something of a comeback, but nothing like it used to be.

I haven't been on here for a long time, and I've noticed that posts seem to be much less frequent now. Perhaps people are moving on from TIF? I mean, you've got sites like 4chan and Reddit now.

Part of the appeal of TIF (for me at least, in OT) is the community. After being here for over 5 years I really don't want to go to reddit or 4chan because I'm familiar with every regular poster on OT. It'd involve abandoning the community and moving to a site so massive that, although it is much faster paced, you can't really get used to everyone there.

    Aww I love you too.

Though seriously what he said. Part of the reason we have people like me, that still lurk atleast even after leaving the game long ago, is that we have a good community. I still join other forums, meet other communities, but I still keep coming back here after it all.

  13. It's weird to tell people that I am still active on a runescape fansite, even though I haven't played the game for years. I mean I still check Tipit every day. My second most visited site after youtube.

  14. It's weird to think that Riku is the only person on this page that joined before me. Interestingly, his join date is my birthday (and RPG's). Actually, a couple of you are slightly older, I just forgot when I joined.

When did I become an old member?

Oh I joined before you too, I just lost access to my other account a while ago. Had to change my password and it wouldn't send email to my email on the account so I couldn't. Figured it'd just be easier to make another account and never looked back.

Also on "things that annoy the hell out of you" we looked at our first posts and a few of us even posted them up. Mine was for the tipit times article about the old nite. Dont look it up.

  15. It feels weird that I'm one of the older members. I joined this forum when I was 11...

You and me man, you and me. Older than my by 4 months and 2 days. I lurk more now.
  16. I have yet to see a shock or corrosive weapon, but have found tons of burning guns. Which is a shame, since corrosive are my favorite. Explosive weapons just seem really inaccurate to me.

I love the looks of guns now. Much more detailed, and the new minigun assault rifles are awesome.

I didn't get a corrosive weapon until the area I started running into armored enemies in. Infact I got it off one of their bodies. I guess it makes sense. Instead of throwing all the elements at you at once they like did in the first one, they give each one their time to shine before they introduce the next one.

Started a Co-op game with a friend, he chose the assassin and I chose the commando. I'm failing to see exactly where the commando shines. Also apparently badass tokens and stats carry over across character. So I have a commando that's speced for elemental weapons. The actual challenges do not though, though it's fine because at the later levels of the badass system, 1 rank isn't going to do much extra for you, so you can't just farm like that.

And yes, I used my key in sanctuary. The first day the game came out, the preorder bonuses didn't really work. So I never got the prompt about the key that you're supposed to get in the tutorial. So while I was in sanctuary, I saw a chest, and like any good borderlands player, I B-lined for it.

  17. Also, I've been getting a ton of pistols. Maybe its because I started using pistols, and it gives you the gun you use the most. Haven't seen one SMG yet either. The pistols do have higher damage though, higher than most ARs I find.

I didn't see a smg until a good way into the game, and it took even longer to get an elemental smg. Pistols are just really common. And since they combined revolvers and repeaters into pistols, the high damage ones would be your old revolvers. It seems like it was a last minute decision since both types (revolvers and repeaters) still seem to be obviously in the game.
