Introductions & Farewells
I used to be Me_Hate_Libs. I've been around thes forums forever. Now, I must go. This place has increasingly become overrun with crybabies and buzzkils. The mods interfere way to much and make these forums completely bland and uninteresting. Runescape itself is just awful and not worth it anymore. So I'm going, for good. Life has too much to offer to spend any more of my time on things like this place. Kaida is cool, Ezkaton is awesome, ForsakenMage is a spectacular writer, and Kimberly is a sexy beast. Everyone else has pretty much ruined this place. Free at last. Free at last. Thank God almight I'm free of tip.it at last.

I was on-topic, he took it off. The comment was just on the side. :) Like saying Forsaken's next chapter was very, very good. -on topic It was so good it makes her look a bit sexier. -on side See? Anyway, no idea now how to tell how many active f2p accounts there are at the moment. I think it's a safe guess that most of the active, nonbotting f2pers didn't like losing the high scores. Probably a good 3+ million.

MMG: Oh, the article was written by a f2per. Guess I should go get lunch instead of reading this.

In a perfect world filled with rational-thinking people, yes. But if that held true, then an entire community focused around Runescape wouldn't have been shunned and dealt a damaging blow because of the 14-yr old mistakes of the distant site owner. Fair enough. I didn't like the way the site was shunned afterwards. Community might be a little grandiose term for the 12 people still left at RV.

Oh Parents, Part II
That is why I said Koren and not Chinese. I recognize diversity when I make my bigoted comments.

Then they shouldn't have stopped bots should they? Yeah, they were hurting people, but Jagex shouldn't be responsible for it because they can't control what people do. If they can stop it, they should. And in this case, the could and did. I don't see any problem here, unless you were a 'legit dicer' who was basically having money given to him for nothing. No, people can be held responsible for what they do, but Jagex can't always be held responsible for what those people do. Jagex should be responsible for what happens on their game, not in real life.

25-Nov-2011 Quick Poll: RuneFest 2012 Location
Travelling to the UK from where I live would be over 1000 euros, if I'm lucky. The argument goes both ways. I don't see how that gives more weight for one than the other. Oh so you go both ways? =D>

There are lots of online games were players can play poker and pool. Even Fun Orb as a pool game. It's not like they are playing for real money. Well, that's not true, many players rwt for gp to dice with. But that is what they do and Jagex shouldn't be responsible for it. You can't control what people people.

Oh Parents, Part II
Does that mean Koreans also eat children? <_< That was funny and you know it.

One thing you have to count in too is that for anyone from the US going to England for it, it's going to cost you about the same. Whether from LA or New York to London, you're going to take a long plane ride and it's going to cost a lot. The costs for coming from the West Coast aren't that much in addition. But if you hold it in the US, the cost of going from NY to LA or vice versa is going to be roughly the same, minus the costs for passports and stuff.

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
Perhaps if they said something more interesting than what they hoped some other person/entity would do? It's just common sense: Talking about what you yourself did is factual. Talking about your plans, or what someone else did, is one step removed. Generally, the only reason for going one step removed is to allow for analytical discussion, not just relating the bare elements, as then you'd prefer the more factual approach of sticking to personal experience. Talking about your plans for someone else to do something, without them knowing those plans, is two steps into the realm of fantasy, only unusually inspired analysis can make that level of separation interesting. You presenting your hopes and dreams for what Jagex would do, without analysis or interpretation, was actually fairly unusual, which is why I mentioned it. You may have mistook it for a rhetorical question, but I was actually curious why you thought that was worth expressing. Especially when you later compared them a nutjob murdering kids, also an unusual rhetorical move. Both of those pathologies indicate that you regard Jagex more from the perspective of a jilted lover than as a disappointed customer of an underperforming software company, and I was attempting to ascertain why that was so. Hope that answers your question :) Sorry that it was a relatively uninteresting second level answer, but it was a relatively uninteresting second level question after all. After reading your post, I'd cartainly say you are an expert at being uninteresting.

25-Nov-2011 Quick Poll: RuneFest 2012 Location
Two years ago there wasn't even a convention. I would hardly say that the location is set in stone. Yes, overall players are probably going to say London, but it's not as outrageous as some people are making it out to be to envision at least one year in the states. I think it would be quite outrageous as a waste if budget. Jagex wasting a large chunk of cash on flying like half the runescape team over to the USA + hotel costs is kinda outrageous in my book; I mean UK london they can commute cambridge > london and all their runefest props are this side of the pond so again massive chunk of cash on shipping or on buying all new props. So you'd rather they waste a large chunk of cash designing another awful website overhaul instead? London is cool. I'll be allowed back in the country by newt year's convention.

She doesn't bite... unless you want her to ;D You should be more worried about me. I'll sit on your head... and not in the good way. \:D/ And maybe Trip won't, but I bite whenever I want. 8-)

I have to take exception to this, or at least part of it. Merchanting is not an illicit means of acquiring wealth in-game. As a member of a clan that teaches players how to profit by buying small(ish) amounts of heavily traded items, I myself have gained over 100M gp by doing exactly that - buying items on the G.E. for a few coins below average and selling them for a few coins above. The RuneScape version of day trading if you will. Now, if by "merching" you were referring to the manipulation clans that conspire to drive prices up to fill the coffers of the clan leaders, then I heartily agree. I'd like to put those people in a sack and toss the sack in a river and hurl the river into space. Or Merching is more like skimming off the top. You're just taking a few coins from everyone.
