  1. They released a few videos about the back story of Gielinor about a year or so, but it only mentioned 3 Elder Gods. Also other quests have been hinting at Elder Gods for a while now, but we didn't know the exact number. is about the Elder gods. This one is a cartoon about the creation of Gielinor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB88piitm9o.
  2. The 2nd article was a bit off when it comes to getting 99 construction. It doesn't cost that much if you know what to do. Construction is faily cheap if you do construction daily tasks, and do warbands. They also have that construction dnd every month too.
  3. Article 1 I agree. The ge and not being able to buy what other players sold to the shops killed them off. I would like for them to get new life. Article 2 I have been playing since 2007, and still enjoy the game. Of course there have been times when I log and only do daily changellenges or pop. The thing that keeps me going is the clan. I would say quests, but they are rare now a days it seems.
  4. I normally don't read fictional articles, but the newpaper one was just so good that I couldn't miss it. I feel that it should be ingame costing 50gp and sold in Varrock. The summary of 2004-2013 in rs was nice. It also showed me how much 2013 sucked, even with the 2 great grandmaster quests. I am a quester and 5 quests is just pathic. I also didn't realize how great 2005 was for questing since i started in March 2007.
  5. I like the new voting system because we will get both updates eventually, which to me is much better than a yes or no system (for most of them). The expection to this rule I feel is the Easter Event choice....traditional or WE3 (Cabbage God vs Monkey God). It makes sense that the votes are members only since they are member updates. All articles were well written. The review of this year was nicely balance balance. It is great to see some positivity from the community on updates.
  6. Ts_Stormrage forgot to mention two very important things on his analysis of the new skill. First off, he didn't even mention the divine training plots, which great at higher lvls. (Not just yourself, but for other as well.) He also failed to mention that this is an incomplete skill because its buddy skill hasn't come out yet. I also want to add that Jagex said there is going to be updates to the skill before its buddy skill comes out.
  7. Wait, what? I don't remember saying this. Where did I say this? Sorry I wrote my reply quickly and got yours switch around with the other one. I should have said 2nd article instead of 1st one.
  8. As for the 2nd article...of course its a click and wait skill...all of them expect for dung. As for the first article....you are soooooooooooooooo wrong when you say this feels like dung and not like fishing or woodcutting. Div in no way feels like dung or a minigame what so ever. The div feels exactly like woodcutting and fishing for the most part but with the added benefit of making it useful on its own without the need of another skill. (Woodcutting needs firemaking and fletching and fishing needs cooking to be useful.) Both authors forgot to mention that we haven't seen the skill true worth yet because its buddy skill hasn't been released yet, and it won't be until 2014.
  9. For the first article I do agree with the author and his grading of rs3. The split chat that we can have right now is terrible compared to the old one, and I miss it very much. Second....Jagex said they already have different teams working on their other projects so those projects shouldn't affect RS updates.
  10. First off the Comp (T) is suppose to take along time to get, and at least jagex give a good reason for the CW games now instead of the old one. (Also no one is forcing anyone to get it anyways, and most people don't even want it.) Also the clans/FCs owning certain things (minigames and bosses) is the fault of the community and something jagex cant really fix. Warbands has always been controlled by a few fcs anyways (in fact the new updates [nerfs] to warbands lower their power). As for Vorago, the goal was to make an unsoloable boss and they did that. You don't need to pay 100m for a kill or a rank in the big fcs for Vorago, you just need strong friends or clanmates.
  11. It took me a lot of bananas, but it's definitely true: I tried going to ape troll and the monkey disappears before I even get there, so I can't even do it. I don't know if I'm doing anything wrong, but it looks like a lie to me.
  12. The funny article was actually funny this time to me. Also I love the DYK this week. I am going to try it out now!!! P.S I tried it (I maybe doing it wrong) but the DYK is a lie.
  13. 1st- Jagex already said that the new skills will go together like mining and smiting. Also agility gives players access to new areas and allows them to use shortcuts, along with refilling the run energy. 2nd- I like how you explained how Meg was a parody of a noob player. I didn't see that. I thought she asked those dumb question because she was a reference from "Meg" in Family Guy. Meg in the show is the seventeen year old daughter of the main character and is treated poorly (That is why you can say "Shut up, Meg." to her, a common gag in the show.) w00t my first-first post!!!
  14. You also have to remember that there are npc that talk about the different gods. Hopefully that will cause more diversity than people choosing the same god as everyone else.
  15. I can't wait for god emissaries update. I like the idea of massive changing the world of rs along with help from other players. I know that not everyone will like this update, but hopefully they make it worth while. As for the 2nd article...why now? You used a quote that is over 4 years old, and than complain about f2p not getting enough attention. F2p never got enough attention like p2p does. That makes since because we are paying to get those updates. F2p does get some small updates besides the holiday ones and other sof crap. The God Emissaries update, for example, is going to be f2p also.
  16. Although the 2nd article title was a very bad (and I mean very bad) pun, it still made good points. The first ariticle was something nice to see and that it showed the postivies of the eoc. I do agree that we still in a beta verison of the eoc, but that is both jagex's fault (Jagex said they released to early) and our own. After all, how many of us played it when it was in beta? I know that I didn't, and I doubt most of us did as well.
  17. I normally don't read the fictional articles, but the background story to the former homeless dog in Varrock was good and funny.
  18. I'm aware of this, and in fact noted it in the article . Still, the fact that they (tried to) do it should raise some eyebrows. I think your whole article was making a big over something that was nothing. It it shouldn't raise eyebrowes since it is not a big deal. Yeah it may have been a little bit over the top, but it is a common pratice. Anyways Jagex realized it was dumb and removed it. Gratz to Tip.it for 1000 articles. The second article was good, and its nice to see something positive in the Times. I do agree there is some hope for runescape. (Of course haters are always going to hate.)
  19. I will say the joke April bts is much better than the Real April bts.
  20. By the way Zybez has got rid of the goldseller ads. They just other games ads now.
  21. @Ts_Stormrage- I agreed with alot of your points expect for the slap in the face remark. Having the 2007 servers isn't a slap in the face to those who made eoc or a protest against it. (If they made the servers just before the eoc than it would be.) Now if they removed eoc than it would be a different story. @Hamtaro- Good article, but "Original and great quests won’t be arbitrarily removed from the game" statement to me was weak. Doric' Quest and the Runecrafting quest weren't orginal or great quests at all. In fact, their replacements were much much better, and had more lore. The same goes with almost all the quests that they changed expect for one, Demon Slayer. The way I look at it the old Demon Slayer and the New Demon Slayer are equal in originality and how great they are. The only difference is that the new one is faster. The last article was so so.
  22. That Suomi article was by far the worst and most pathic article I have every seen in the Times. All that meshy crap about Suomi being such a great man among men is just sad. I will admit its impressive that hes almost 5B, but to write about it in such a way is sad. Frankly i expect better articles from The Floating Pen. The construction article was a nice short review of the skill.
  23. To me all the articles was lackluster this week. The article i had the biggest problem was the Holiday one. The guy had some major errors in it, most notably the American Christian Calendar one. It the Christian Calendar period because every country that had or has a major Christian population celebrates those holidays (Christmas and Easter, though I'm not so sure about Halloween). To me it seemed this guy had an American bias. The Halloween comment showed that the author didn't know what he was talking about really, but another poster took care of that. As for a story on Thanksgiving another poster pointed out that it improved and it was always a short event with little story. Also Canada has a Thanksgiving but its in October. Yes I know that they had it in November cause of the huge American player base. They also have holidays from other countries as well, like Germany and France, though those events has no story though. We got to new holidays events that you didn't mention this week either. All I'm saying is to do some research before you make an article next time. P.S I agree that they are going to have some extra Sof crap for the holidays coming up. Because they did something similar with game cards last year.
  24. I understand that you are disappointed that I didn't use any real examples. However, the world is small, and even with anonymous descriptions of real clan interactions, it would not be difficult for people to see I was talking about them, and I wouldn't want them to take offense. I think an article with more details would indeed be more suitable if it were essentially made-up, like the fictional that was published. However, we'll have to agree to disagree, so to speak, on whether clans are an important part of the game. I'll illustrate with some numbers. You can quickly check the hiscores to see that there are about 110,000 clans with at least 5 people. That's almost as many clans as there are active people on the game at an average time. Furthermore, a fully 47,000 clans were created in 24 hours after the creation of clan camp and a quarter of a million players pledged allegiance to a clan in that time (source: Rs Wikia). As of now, there are 2,000 clans with 100+ members in them, making well over 200,000 players engaged in a fairly large group. In my opinion it seemed worthwhile considering it is such a large body of people, and not a disgrace to the Times as you have implied with your post. Finally, I'm not going to write my autobiography here, but whether you take my word for it or not, I am active RuneScape player. I have never quit and have no intentions of doing so in the foreseeable future. Arceus, are you sure that darthaddict wasn't referring to Calebchiam's article? 1. He compliments the two clan articles and says he understands the sentiments behind the articles. 2. He says the second article is bad, but goes on to say that "it's just some guy remembering before he quits." Well, Calebchiam's article is about someone remembering his time on RuneScape before he quits. It's pretty evident that darthaddict simply said "2nd article" when he meant "3rd article". That makes more sense. I guess he probably is , sorry. I'm sorry for my counting mistake i meant 3rd article not 2nd. As i said earlier I'm a clan overseer with over 475 people so i get what you are saying. It was Calebchiam's article that i didn't like since it seemed so generic and like a boring blogger post.
