  1. I checked the new slayer guide and in lot's of ways it's more practical. However you didn't mention the common slayer locations at all..? Brimhaven, Slayer Cave East of Rellekka, Ascension Dungeon, Slayer Tower (except on the assignment part you did mention Slayer Tower).

Also I'd add a lot more hyperlinks, but that's not a big deal. It can still be improved much further, hopefully you're not done with it yet!

A big thanks to all who helped updating the Slayer Guide, it's really nice & tidy now and finally one gets to see the different assignments of the newest slayer master.

    Cheers!

  2. Decided to make another post as editing was getting harder.

Anyhow about the familiar pigs, our Summoning guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/summoning_guide.htm

Mentions them in the "Summoning pouches" section, but that's it. No mentioning on the "Familiars & their scrolls" section. Which means we don't have info on how much the prayer pig can restore ptayer points before it becomes pretty useless and you need to dismiss it and summon another one to keep making use of it (yes it has a limit, was hoping for a real walking altar :p)

How much does the pack pig can carry?

What's the war pig's combat level etc.?

The special ability scroll: Bacon blast scroll is also missing from the database.

Furthermore what makes this even more complicated is that all of these 3 can be upgraded twice (in total 9 different familiars: 3x3). So they gain more advantages.

I have no idea what they have on the 1st stage, even less about the 2nd & 3rd since I accidentaly chose weekly bacon instead of familiars.

Last but not least, the pet reward: http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13859-pig

Can be changed into the other types by the friendly smiling murderhouse (aka. Pig machine) in the quest ending area.

If I missed something, point it out or add the info. I'm fed up with too much bacon for one day...

  3. So I finally found a bit time to relax and quest a bit. The quest I did was Bringing Home the Bacon, which in the end was probably the creepiest & most disturbing quest I've ever played, yet still very funny. Impressive work.

The quest was pretty much easy, no guides needed. But at the end of the quest I needed some information (mainly about if someone knows more about the bloodthirsty & demonic machine, aswell about the missing people "hint hint").

So I went through the whole guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/quests/view/251-bringing-home-the-bacon

And not even a single mention about it lol. I guess it's not important, just something for the story itself.

Anyhow the walkthrough itself is well done, lot's of hyperlinks which is good.

But in the end there's no mentioning on how to create the pig familiars nor hyperlinks for the summoning familiars:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/14278-pack-pig-pouch

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/14277-war-pig-pouch

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/14279-prayer-pig-pouch

Another thing is that the ingredients for each pig differs by the tooth you receive as a (quite rare) drop when killing pigs. The type of tooth you receive is based on what type that slaughtering machine is based on. For example war pig machine allows you to only get the war tooth as a drop for the respective familiar creation pouch.

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/14280-pack-pig-tooth

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13866-war-pig-tooth

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/14281-prayer-pig-tooth

Some of the pouches I mentioned earlier are also missing their hyperlinks & even info of these required teeth items.

Raw bacon is missing info: http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13861-raw-bacon

After a nice little talk with the totally normal pig farmer... He mentions about making a pie with bacon:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13871-pork-pie

And if that's not enough to satisfy your needs you can also.. Erm.. Brew bacon apparently: http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/13873-pigswill

  4. Void is not completely useless because defense doesn't matter in typeless damage or if you're in a DPS role where every bit of accuracy/damage you can dish out counts favorably.

Ironically, cross-class combat was precisely the thing that players, and in particular F2P, wanted changed before EoC. If you were a mage you had nothing reasonable to wear for melee defense and would get slashed to pieces the moment someone in melee came within range.

Legacy was sort of a difficult pickle for them. They begrudgingly made it as an alternative to EoC to emulate the old combat system. Unfortunately, this was already after a couple years of designing everything specifically around EoC to challenge people and force them to take full advantage of those tactics to be successful in quests and other endeavors. For example, Legacy does not have a way, bar a couple weapon specials, to break or prevent a stun/bind/DPS attack. They could retroactively go back and try to make all those boss fights and such doable/compatible with Legacy, but they've said that they do not wish to do so. At least for now...

(And don't forget, there have been subsequent tweaks since ~15 months ago, when this was first posted...)

(I don't know how to quote separetely :7)

Yeah it's good when you aren't the one taking damage, or you don't have to worry about dying. Which is why PC offers a good opportunity for it to shine. Haven't thought of any other uses except some easy bosses with a team mate. I remember using void for Jad and it worked perfectly, till I lagged out... Not sure about the tweaks part.

In Pre-EoC mages had fairly strong damage, but sacrificed defense in F2P. Their biggest advantage was to keep the enemy out of range, by using snares/binds/entangles or running through obstacles to put the melee stuck in place. Unlike mage's cloths; melee users had a significant penalty to magic when wearing plate armour, it was often better to use dragon hide, but that often lead to hybrid battles. Mages were basically the only ones who could stop enemy's movement for a very long time. I think that's a really big benefit against a melee who tries to escape or charge towards you. Ancient ice spells were incredible at this! I still remember those mages who massacred lot's of people in Soulwars by a bridge's choke-spot using ice barrage! :D

But now it seems completely different. They fire breath like dragons, hitting farther away than the graphical animation suggests and it's AoE damage. They use less runes and are able to blink several tiles forward, easily making a surprise attack if performed well and they don't seem to be scared of avoiding the enemy like before, it's almost as if they wanted to melee the enemy while grilling their face or wetting their pants. Also they still are the only ones who can at least teleport block I think? That's another big advantage in Wilderness at least.

Anyhow I stopped thinking about PvPing against EoCers.  Realized too many advantages on their side for me to even bother. Maybe in the future they bother boosting Legacy, but for now I'll be a pacifist.  O:)

  5. Ahwell.. Just 30 chompies then. I remember when people did the feather headress thingy, which was unlocked by certain number of chomp kills. Back in the days those were some of the coolest head-worn items. I tried to do it, but got bored after 500 or 600 kills. Was thinking on continuing it afterwards at some point, but nvm now.

Also why remove Livid Farm completely? Atleast 1 unlocked spell should be a requirement. It's listed in the Fremennik hard task list also. However I got the boots before it was introduced, so no need to do that either, but it only takes a couple of hours maximum for the cheapest spell.

Delivering chimp ices wasn't hard either. The quest guide did it's job really well!

In my opinion it seems a bit odd that some people have the patience to repeat over and over again a grind to level 99, or 200m xp. Compared to that, these 3 tasks are piece of cake. If you want to reduce the requirements, fine by me I guess. Makes my life easier, hopefully the feeling of challenge will still remain.

In a way I was also hoping for these dead areas to come more alive thanks to the requirements, but too many were upset with even bothering.

  6. But as long the newbie doesn't know about any better they can't probably tell the difference! :D

I remember that the greatest thing of being a noob in almost any game is that you just don't know what to do that it doesn't matter, just trying to have fun and explore, learn things the hard way etc.

But yeah it sucks for the majority. Still there's always a bright side even on the most darkest of clouds. There are some gloves that I could use.

  7. I know this is an year old thread. Sorry in advance.

Was wondering for a long time why the money reward was removed and this was the first place which had the patch notes I was looking for.

Was funny to read that no one remembered the deflector untill the 4th page. Another thing was that void armour never was a defence armour, as Saradomin_Mage mentioned I remember also that it used to be 10% extra accuracy & 5% extra damage, or vice versa.

After searching answers from different places it seems that the void armour had too much defensive stats, which was one of the reasons they had to revamp the defence stats on gear. I also found out that the bonus on void is terrible: 1% & 3% normal, 3% & 5% elite. No idea of superior elite.

The thing is that the void armour isn't good anymore imo. Defense stats, well those never really mattered since this was more of an offensive armour, which sacrificed armour for more damage, but they ruined that too. Another thing about this set is that I don't see how this could be of use anymore. Since already around level 70s there's gear that surpasses it in damage & armour. So I guess this is for lower level players nowadays, tormented demons used to be my use for them, but it doesn't seem to work well at all, especially when protection prayers were nerfed by 50%.

Though I still use it in PC for nostalgic reasons. It's a lot easier than before, but I die much more often than before lol. Still a fun minigame at least! :)

The current defense stats feel like nonsense to me. The fact that you actually have a penalty from almost every item except hybrid or all round have the huge disadvantage by performing terribly when the opponent focuses on 1 attack style only.

But then again, EoC players don't have the same disadvantage as Legacy when we both wear the same stuff, main difference is that the other one deals a lot more damage on the opponent's armour. Can't really see much of point in armour which can't even protect you equally.

Another thing is the hit chance & AoE differences. But I guess you already know all this.

My guess is that JaGex tried to make Legacy more appealing so we weren't forced to play with EoC or that revolution hulabalooza. Problem is that they messed it all by actually changing too many things. They stated that EoC was not going to be nerfed because of the older combat system. But that doesn't mean they can't boost the Legacy mode for example to make it more competitive or atleast closer so we could also have full access to all content.

Last but not least: attack types which are restricted to 1 type, when before some weapons could use even 3 different types (which was logical for god's sakes). This makes pest control & lot's of other things a bit annoying.

I find it hilarious that Korasi's sword is listed as stabbing, when the animation clearly looks like a slashing move. It has a hook-like tip, but pulling the sword towards you, just to hit the enemy with the tip isn't stabbing imo.

Ridiculous combat, ever since EoC came, but people seem to enjoy it (atleast most I presume). So no need to think twice what's the best comercial decision from them. Just got to live with it I guess, on a sidenote the Pest Control is missing some things, will info about this on another section later.

Again sorry for necroing, but this really was a spike in my spine. Good day to you all.

  8. First of all the Farming guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/farming_guide.htm

On the "Allotments, flowers and herb section" is stated: There is no farmer to watch your patch, or tool leprechaun to gather your farming tools.

It actually has a farmer -it's the skill guide if I remember right- who looks after your precious potatoes & there's a happy little tool leprechaun hanging around there.

    https://tstotopix.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/leprechaun.png :D

Then the "Trees" section is missing atleast the Elder tree & Crystal tree. Not sure if there are any new fruit trees.

    On the Herblore guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/herblore_guide.htm

On the "Potions" section Tarromin tar is missing it's hyperlink.

Some potion names are changed, for example: antifire potion is nowadays "Anti fire-breathing potion".

The coconut milk is only mentioned in the description section, not in the ingredients part. It would be great to have an icon + hyperlink of coconut milk to be displayed to make it easier to understand.

The following potions are missing their G.E price values:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/1614-weapon-poison-4

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/4074-weapon-poison-4

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/4075-weapon-poison-4

I only checked the potion prices, not sure about the ingredients. All potions seem to be added to the list, which is good.

That's all for now I think.

Last edit: Not sure if this matters at all anymore, but "Tropical coconuts"'s notes part has a small spelling error: http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/16149-tropical-coconut

  9. Not sure if I should comment on a dead thread... But if anyone here has played World of Warcraft you know that a fixed timezone which would make the game change according to the time wouldn't be problematic once released.

However I feel it could make the game a lot heavier, which would increase lagg & maybe even crash if done wrong. In my opinion RS doesn't need this. Adjusting graphical settings does wonders already, why not use that to make a litle picnic in the Haunted Woods more enjoyable?

  10. I can't judge the game since I haven't tried it yet (will try sooner or later).

But.. What about the community? This is like their 5th RuneScape? Expanding has it's advantages on attracting new players, but shouldn't they be focusing on uniting the community instead of dividing it even more?

Just my thoughts. I hope it will be succesful for them though.

  11. Well.. So far my experiences with minigames after a 2 year break seems like the majority of players think only about these "thalers".

FoG was just plain awful when I saw people playing it all wrong just to get as much thalers as possible. Sometimes my opponent was just AFK which ruined the fun for me.

I don't see what's the problem on the current timeline's point of view of adding new rewards to FoG when people would go there just for the thalers anyway. Think it of a bonus, nowadays priority is thalers, everything else comes 2nd. Sad but seems to be true.

Would had been better if they had updated FoG years ago of course, but hey it's better than abandoning the minigame for ages like trouble brewing, which is another fun game, but so much more could had been done better logistically atleast.

  12. I don't see what's bad with this. It's simply a show-off of your dedication or waste of time, depends whom you ask. It's not like anyone is forcing you to do it unless you are a completionist irl...

I think this sounds fun. Done almost everything that is listed. Livid Farm & chomps are fun too.

Quests & lore are usually one time only and they differ so much from each other that I find them much more interesting & entertaining than mindless AFK-experience grind for example.

Only thing that sucks with the quest cape imo is that you can't wear it till you complete the newest quests. So if they add quests every week it gets a bit annoying. Got my quest cape, but need to catch up with the quests I've missed.

  13. Not sure if this is the right place.. But I have a few questions about the boss Araxxi and her mate + few other bosses, who are mentioned in the Soul Reaper guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/soul_reaper.htm

A: No data in the bestiary?

B: Should we contact TMHT for help or ask if they already have the project going?

C: Once the data is ready; add hyperlinks to make navigating more practical?

I think I'm still part of TMHT... Not sure to be honest. I was working on a KBD guide (stopped playing & forgot) and I still have the data on my older PC, but not sure if the info is still useful since it's 2 years old. It feels like I let them down and I'm not really ok with this feeling. Should probably contact them.

On a sidenote about the new metal dragons:

A: It seems the adamant dragon's information is added to the bestiary, but no idea if it's assignable by a slayer master. I asked about the slayer guide before and I was told they're going to make a big update for it, so I guess that problem is already under control.

B: Rune dragon; same question, but in addition there's no information about it at all in the bestiary.

Hopefully I didn't present too many questions at once.

  14. I just got a piece of the Divination experience boost clothing (Diviner's legwear). I went to the divination guide to check the rest of the parts:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/divination_guide.htm

But I noticed that not a single part of the set is mentioned?

I think it's good to add the set to the guide.

Divination (in my opinion) is probably the dullest skill to train so having some xp boost clothing helps a lot in the long term to maintain my sanity.

  15. The portable deposit box:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/12863-portable-deposit-box

Is still obtainable, got 1 from entering the "today's raffle" by speaking to Balthazar in Burthorpe. I'm guessing lot's of items will be in need of an update.

Edit: this should also be updated:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/12860-deathtouched-dart

I haven't won the death touched dart, but it's today's grand prize in the raffle.

  16. Once again I did something that wasn't mentioned in the item's description:

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/4705-breadcrumbs

So I was just doing random stuff as always, I was hanging out in Lumbridge, making some bread and happened to create breadcrumbs. Since I no longer could use them myself I went for a walk thinking if breadcrumbs had another purpose in RuneScape. I suddenly remembered that ducks like breadcrumbs! (atleast in real life).

So I went to the river and used the breadcrumbs on a duck and hoozah! It worked! "You throw the breadcrumbs to the duck."

    :)

So now you can feed the ducks if you have some extra bread leftovers. Cheers.

  17. http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/15622-protean-hide

Protean hides can still be obtained, the description says only from January till February of 2015.

I won 5 large protean packs. No idea what they were so I decided to check out and I ended checking their contents, that's how I found the item description error. Probably someone just forgot to update it.

On a side-note I added you @Arceus just in case.

Edit: forgot to mention logs also http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/16008-protean-logs

Thus it seems you managed to notice them in time also heh.

  18.

Spirit emerald info states that only black demons drop it http://www.tip.it/runescape/items/view/14492-spirit-emeraldHowever I just got one while doing a greater demon slayer task in Kuradal's slayer dungeon, which made me search for this unknown item to me. I don't have a screenshot since I haven't checked the PC settings properly.I don't think it's a rare drop since I got a spirit sapphire from black demons slayer task yesterday in the Taverley dungeon. But I have no idea if you can stock multiple spirit gems or are they restricted to one at all times.Hopefully I' posting in the right section; please contact me if I'm doing something wrong.

It is a rare drop dropped by many monsters, though the page you mentioned is automatically updated with the drop tables of the monsters in the bestiary of tip.it. So the fact that only black demon is listed is not because of a fault on that page but because it is not concluded it the drop tables of the other monsters on tip.it

Ah I see. Thanks for clearing it out for me! I still have lot's of new things to learn & understand in RS3.

  19. Glad to hear it!

I was very confused when getting slayer tasks from creatures I've never heard of before. Looking forward to access the newest slayer master in Prifddinas along it's other content aswell. But it seems it requires a very high divination level to access it :(.

These new slayer dungeons are quite fascinating and have an interesting lore behind them. Looking forward to explore them all.

    Good luck with the guide!

  20. The whole ascension dungeon and it's contents aren't mentioned in the slayer guide

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/slayer_guide.htm

    http://www.tip.it/runescape/pages/view/ascension_dungeon.htm

In addition it seems that the latest slayer master and lot's of other slayer related things haven't been added to the guide either. Someone please update the guide. I can help a bit if needed or if I happen to notice something else missing while slaying.
