  1. Well I thought it was generally assumed that once an item because easily accessibly, it's price generally takes an enormous plummet as demand drops and supply increases. With that thought and how the GE functions, I'd have to say that Rune would not be a very likely method of making much money at all, unless you have a reason to believe that rune-based items would fair any better than mithril do now. The biggest impact this change would have would be on the F2P community and even then, I had my rune platebody years ago on F2P after Dragon Slayer.
  2. What are your thoughts on it Trey? I was also asked what I would do if the Rune Requirements were dropped to the 40-ish range and how I would adjust the skill to compensate for the huge number of craft-able items pre-40 and then the large drop off afterwards. What would you suggest for these issues?
  3. Hello Runetips! Not long ago, I posted a discussion on the Runescape Official Forums about my thoughts on the Smithing Tables. I thought this topic could use brainstorming so I've decided to bring it here for anyone who is interested to discuss. I will also link my ROF here, but I ask and sincerely urge that we keep the discussion here; as I find this to be a more active and lively forum. [qfc]74-75-596-63770028[/qfc] Original Post by me: "Hello Runescape Community! I believe the smithing skill is in need of an overhaul. This suggestion has absolutely nothing to do with changing the Experience Gain or Items created from the smithing skill but rather to re-organize the skill itself to make more sense. Now what my topic will center around is the lvl 99 requirement of a Rune Platebody. For reasons that I hope are a little too obvious to have to explain, I think the Rune Platebody sharing the lvl 99 requirement spot with 3 other rune items is insanely ridiculous. Smithing can be revered for being the only F2P skill that continues to provide all the way to max level, but what it provides is in no way appealing. There's no logical reason that I can wield Rune Weapons and wear Rune Armour at 40 Attack/Defense respectively; but require a max skill to create them. Am I suggesting this because I desperately want Rune armour? No. I'm suggesting this because it's a little strange that I can Repair a Dragon Sq. Shield at lvl 60, Smith a Godsword at lvl 80, create one of the legendary Spirit Shields at lvl 85, and finally smith myself a Dragon Platebody at 92, but still be short of Rune. It's completely understandable, Jagex started with a fantastic smithing skill and little by little updated to include new and better items but clearly had to stuff them in between the old Smithing Tables. I simply believe the old smithing tables have to be re-organized to their respective levels, maxing rune out at around 40. Besides what you can smith, quests like devious minds also have exceedingly large requirements for players who can already wield better gear. Dragon does not have to become an Ore nor do any other items have to be re-considered. I simply think the smithing tables have to be adjusted to current date. I think this suggestion also needs feedback because this could realistically destroy the Smithing and Mining skills. I appreciate any and all feedback, thank you. ~Reivax"
  4. Hello! I was just mining a Shooting Star by the coal trucks and I got a strange Rock. This is my third strange rock today as I got 2 in the runespan earlier, which is noted in the Shattered Heart guide; but the guide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=shattered_heart.htm#gettingrocks does not include the Shooting Star for the mining strange rock. It could be that this was left out on purpose as harvesting the Shooting Start is nowhere near as common as the other activities I see listed there but I wanted to make sure you knew that the Shooting Star does indeed drop a -Mining- Strange Rock. Thank you, ~Reivax
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome! You can expect to see plenty of me around as I get rather anal about changes, typos, updates; I'll try my best not to annoying anyone xD
  6. Hello Again! If you follow the link I provide: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?page=dungeoneering_advanced.htm#start You will be taken to a section of the dungeoneering guide that suggests how to go about in a team-play manner, describing players as Keyers and Non-Keyers. Since the update to dungeoneering no longer requires Keys (or even tools) to take up inventory slots, I thought this should be updated. The keys for dungeoneering are now picked up and are usable by the entire team at any door at any time and also make the pictures of "Keyers" and "Non-keyers" inventories moot. Hope this helps! ~Reivax
  7. Thank you for your feedback and consideration! Couldn't have gotten a warmer welcome
  8. Hello all! I am new to this forum but i'm in no means new to Tipit and I decided to include my idea for a suggestion here today. My Suggestion would be a skill summation at the bottom of the Quest Calculator for the maximum skills required to complete all quests. Each individual quest is highlighted red when you do not meet the requirements and highlights specifically which requirements you are missing. Since the calculator is already able to identify what you are missing and display it, i thought it would be a simple code update to include the highest value of the missing score so that you have a target goal without having to comb through each Red Box. I also thought of including all quests that are considered pre-reqs for other quests but I assumed such an idea would be mundane as you won't finish all quests in one day regardless. An Example: The Quest Calc displays 3 boxes, being red or green as being unavailable or available for completing. Quest 1: All requisites are met, you may complete this quest. Quest 2: Requires 60 Woodcutting and 50 Runecrafting before you can complete it. Quest 3: All Skill requirements met, requires Recipe for Disaster before you can complete it. Quest 4: Requires 72 Woodcutting and 30 Farming before you can complete it. With this input, the bottom of the quest calculator would display: 72 Woodcutting, 50 Runecrafting, 30 Farming to complete all quests. Quest 1 is not shown because you are eligible and Quest 3 is also not shown because pre-quests are not a part of the calculator. The requirement for 60 woodcutting is super-ceded by the requirement for 72. I thought this would be a helpful idea for people like me who set our skill goals to finish all quests. I will gladly clarify my idea to any who has inquiries and if the idea is popularized, I will gladly help with any input I have available. Thank you, ReivaxLorp
