I can't wait now! The anxiety is killing me :D I have no plans, though. Just gonna do whatever I feel like, and listen to the music while doing it! -

It would be a bit of a catch-22. Sure, there are those hardcore 07scape fanboys who would piss themselves at the mere mention of it becoming "a thing", but I could see a number of people (more the casuals who are playing for a free month having voted) buying in to get a leg-up on the rest - resources on spins most notably. Could be a BRILLIANT move. I sure hope it won't happen, for the simple reason that I hope Jagex will profit from this without 'intervening' too much/at all. @Blyaunte: No, what they have said (last time I checked, at least), is that no rares will be introduced, unless 500k are reached (for the dev team) and sufficient support from the '07 community. -

Then I guess 2007 will be visited from the future by a certain green bastard with a spinning wheel. -

[qfc]317-318-490-64252433[/qfc]. Third. Freaking. Post. There's no sense in this shit anymore. Why would they come out and say that they want to rig it? If the community didn't have enough support, let it go. Why give everyone a mulligan come the 28th? That's rigging the vote? More like not being total douche bags. If the poll reaches 480k votes, Jagex could either say 'oh, you didn't reach 500k. Too bad' or 'oh, you were so close to 500k that we'll be nice and give you the benefits either way'. Which one makes the most sense, both from a company point-of-view, and a customer point-of-view? -

http://forum.tip.it/...n/#entry5275482 Thanks! Googling didn't give any relevant results. My mind isn't changed, though. As discussed in that thread, there could have been a number of reasons why the counter went up. Automatically thinking Jagex is 'pulling our legs' is bordering a conspiracy theory, in my opinion. -

Now, I'll admit I haven't spent too much time on the RS front page over the years. So have you got any sources to that claim? I want to read for myself and make up my own opinion before I comment further. -

I don't suppose the fact that they've done it before counts? Again, got any proof? Anything? Geniune question this time. I'll give it a shot, although i will say rigging is a bit of a harsh word. More like Blatant mishandling. 1. Bribing players by saying that anyone who votes for it gets free membership on it first month. 2. Urging players to vote for it even if they're not planning to play it, just do it for your friends. 3. Advertising over the Website, lobby, in game, and there various social media accounts. 4. They voting yes for it. 5. They having the server ready somehow, not even a week into voting yet. 6. Allowing players to make 2 new membership accounts for 2 dollars just so they can votes yes for it. (Although i heard you couldn't do this anymore) 7. Lowering the tiers and flat out removing the 750k vote benefits to be moved down to the 500k ones. Some of the ones that i could think of the top off my head, a bit busy now but if anyone could add on to it it would be nice. I can agree that it's quite obvious that Jagex wanted as many votes as possible. However, I got the impression that some people thought Jagex literally were rigging the poll. I.e. making the poll count go up, even if there were no people voting. That's why I reacted, because it's pure speculation, which is, in my eyes, unfair. -

I may have misread, but I think I saw in the Q/A thread that they would be ready to support 100k players (aka 50 servers). Don't quote me on this, though! -

I, for one, hope TIF could provide a 2007scape subforum to Blogscape. If I'm not going to make a blog myself, I sure want to follow the progress of my fellow 2007scapers! :D -

I was almost hoping it would take them 1-2 months to release, because of midterms! But, hey, now that 2007scape is coming back, I'm certainly not going to complain! -

175k reached. Averaged over 1k votes per hour for the past 24 hours, if I'm not mistaken. 250k could be within reach! -

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case (automatic votes from the ingame screen, that is). At least Jagex' stance on this is pretty clear – to get as many votes as possible. -

Does anyone know why there was a sudden spike of votes just now? -

And it's gonna be dang good to have that back! Profitable skilling, that is! Tell me, how is "profitable skilling" going to happen, exactly, when no one has money and everyone has pretty much the same skills? Yes, I "obviously" meant that skilling would be profitable from the get-go, and not when the game has a working economy. -

I've been thinking the same thing. Assuming the 780k figure is somewhat accurate, 750k votes would mean that "all" RS players would want 2007scape back, so the benefits would be thereafter. 500k votes would mean 2/3 of all paying members would want old RS back, so having no additional fee is natural (to me, at least). And so on. The thresholds Jagex set make a lot more sense with the 780k active, paying members figure. -

The problem is players are so fickle and opinionated, that if Jagex left runescape's advancement up to what players wanted this game wouldn't have made it to 2007, and be long gone by now. I canb't see the playerbase wearing out the existing content for years easily, seeing how long it would take to max out skills such as slayer. I had a rather lenghty post written, but the bottom line was basically that I agree. My English isn't good enough to accurately describe what I think about this, so I'll just leave it here! :)
