  1. I don't want updates to 2007scape. But if the interest was there (a big enough playerbase to eventually 'wear out' the existing content), then there should be polls for which updates to be implemented. Obviously, this is to avoid a vocal minority getting their way (ironic, huh?), and to steer 2007scape in the direction the players wanted the real game to go.
  2. It's anyone's own personal choice to vote or not. I, personally, voted yesterday, but I won't encourage anyone who aren't going to play to vote. Why? Because that would, as stated above (edit: on the previous page), inflate the numbers.
  3. Is it bad that I laughed at this? Hard like side splitting laughter. I'm just adding up the numbers now man. I'm looking at the Highscores list and wtf there can't be more than 400k+ members!!! Jagex played us. What happened to the certainty that the poll would be destroyed and all the non-believers would be left wide-mouthed and in absolute shock? Congrats! You were right! Time to rub it in like the nice guy you are! *pats head*
  4. No. It's the attitude of the whole forum which has changed. It went from being nice and friendly, to a competition of being the biggest dickbag. Nostalgia at work once again. There's no point arguing. No matter what I say now, you'll just respond with 'nostalgia'. Edit: thought I edited my last post. Apologies.
  5. No. It's the attitude of the whole forum which has changed. It went from being nice and friend, to a competition of being the biggest dickbag. What? Forget it.

  7. And some people say the community wasn't better before. I remember a time when TIFers were nice.
  8. That's assuming votes will come in steadily. Which they won't.
  9. Don't expect that from jagex. Their 'game development' skill isn't maxed yet.
  10. I enjoy seeing all the fan boys ignore the fact that voting rates will PLUMMET once the majority have voted. You must be a genius. I would never think that once the majority had voted, rates would plummet. Your logic is just too much for me.
  11. Botting is nostalgia too... Is this NOT nostalgic? Really? Botting has always been a problem. Anyone who didn't expect botting on 2007scape is delusional.
  12. Very well said! I even checked their Fb page to see if I could find the original EoC post, but I couldn't. I guess I didn't dig deep enough! That'd still be skewed by having existed for so much longer too. Agreed. Though, it would have given some sort of idea. But it doesn't really matter, as the poll is up soon, anyway.
  13. Very well said! I even checked their Fb page to see if I could find the original EoC post, but I couldn't. I guess I didn't dig deep enough! Even though I agree with your point, I just want to point out that it's highly unlikely that Jagex budgets with the exact number of votes times 5/15 bucks. Unless they are completely incompetent, which I hope they're not! :)
  14. I think you are a little bit too hopeful. Until we can actually get an impression of how many votes there are going to be, I'd say it's anyone's guess. For a gamer that is never an excuse! If only I were a teenager again!
  15. Oh, well! I blame that fact that it's past midnight! :)
  16. There's currently a version of RS that has that, and you don't even have to pay for it. ;) You got me! No, but seriously, RSC is before my time, and doesn't have the same appeal to me because of this.
  17. I won't argue with that, since I haven't played since the release of EoC (so I assume you're right). However, what I am more concerned with is whether or not it feels like RS. Having an action bar full of abilities and several thousand hitpoints just doesn't feel right to me. It might to you, hence this post. RS2013 just seems like a WoW clone, which it definitely wasn't pre-EoC. In my opinion, skilling has been made obnoxiously easy in the past couple of years. But this is, as said, my opinion. Some people, like me, enjoy the grinding of (old) RS, and I would gladly pay money to have my options limited, but at the same time make my achievements "worth" more. I know you will probably point out that I can "just do use the old, slow methods, anyway", but this is not the same thing. "Achieving" something like 99 mining is no big deal anymore, thanks to LRC, but it was back when the fastest methods were iron ore dropping, or even Zarfot's granite/sandstone method.
  18. This whole argument about 2007scape is just silly. The ones who want to see 2007scape will vote for it. Trying to convince anyone who are opposed to it to vote yes, is silly – likewise the other way around. I would say that no matter if there will be 50k or 750k votes, it would be, at least, somewhat accurate. Of course there will be someone voting yes who won't play, and vice versa, but that is not really the point. Anyone basically saying "I'm right, you're wrong!" is a fool, as no one will have the answer to anything until the poll is over. Well said. To me, this is voting yes for the wrong reason. The community has definitely changed, and anyone voting yes to experience it the way it was needs a reality check.
  19. I used to have an account on this forum (different name, but whatever), and felt the need to share my thoughts about this. I loved this game back in 2007. Maybe it is nostalgia that is skewing my memories, but I remember being very happy to play a game that did not hold my hand all the time. I did play until EoC came out, but that was the final straw. I thought that if I wanted to play a hotkey-based MMO with sub-par graphics, I would play WoW instead. To be able to play old RuneScape once again would be awesome. The community will definitely not be the same, but I was never really involved with it, anyway. I just did my own thing and was happy doing just that. Nowadays, RuneScape just is not the same game for me. It has become too streamlined. The flaws and faults are what made the game great for me. I will definitely miss some of the updates that have come out during the recent years, like the bank update and XP tracker, but that is about it. I looked at the list of updates that would be gone, and I was excited. Most all of the updates since 2007 have failed to catch my interest. That is why I hope 2007Scape becomes a success. Will I play equally as much as I did in 2007? Most likely not. But will I enjoy it more than I enjoyed playing this game from 2010-ish up until the release of EoC? Definitely, yes!
