If the players understood the separation between the player and their character/avatar/whatever, then it's fine; you're not telling your sexuality, just your avatars, which may be different than yours. You wouldn't even be giving your sexuality, just choosing who to go with in this case, and that decision could be influenced by a number of things apart from gender and sexuality. But that's definitely more borderline. That line of reasoning does make more sense than what I thought you (and others) were saying; thanks for clarifying. I agree, I don't view my character as me but a seperate entity, it's just an avatar to me. Some people do play as if it's themselves though so they may think they were being asked that, I don't see the need to appease some to potentially upset others in that particular case on the quest :D i view my charecter as me in a way and modeled it close to how i look but it is a fantasy and an escape really

If you wish to support gay rights, why not just create an account on here that is linked to that one (by stating it as your RSN) and promote a gay event through that one? It should make people recognize you easier and the discussion can also continue in-game. I really fail to see any other reason to why you are acting like you are right now unless you really are trolling. If that is what you are doing that is just horrible. The gay community really deserves some discussion and to be brought up "in the spotlight" in the gaming world. Exactly my thoughts after reading through the replies. I'm not entirely convinced you are not trolling after ignoring the posts that defend your stance, but ignore the overall advice they give. If you are genuinely not a troll and feel this strongly about this, then my advice is to not be so defensive. Organize your event with actual pride. Have fun, and step back and moment and see here on tip.it that nearly every post has some encouragement. yeah i apologise my actions may be a little strong but i really wanted to bring this in as a fun thing that is all and just got a little defensive over this i hope that one day though we could have a little event for the community to have some fun and skill together :)

I think the whole point just flew over your head. Firstly; Matt Lucas who plays that role is gay him self in real life, and secondly, the scetch is not about mocking gays, it is more about having fun with the guy who is really heterosexual (the character is) and desperately wants to shoch and appall people with him being gay (which he is not) but which he is not successfull in. Have you even seen those shows? i have seen a couple i just never liked his approach to be honest it seems a bit, mocking to me about gays like whenever ive seen people watch it they are like oh what a [bleep] and stuff and that type of talk is just upsetting to me, my ex boyfriend wouldnt watch it because it came across to him like it as well, i understand where you are coming from by what you have said though. im not trying to shock or apall anyone though i just threw out an idea and was hoping that peole would get where i was coming from something that never really gets mentioned in game or on forums much about rs just wanted to find a way of making it real, guess its just a dream really.

ok maybe it might not work with him in a way, i dunno there must be some sort of way they can put it into the game, maybe by selecting the right drop down boxes or something i mean it works in skyrim if you wear the necklace maybe it casts a spell over them or something to be attracted to the famous adventurer

i find it highly offencive that you ridicule me and put me in the same light as a tv charecter that is just mocking gays, this is where i feel shunned and quite frankly dissapointed in this forum, am i putting up youtube clips of a mock of hetrosexuality? am i saying things against hetrosexuality? no i am not but i get people classing me as some non existant person who is mocking the gay community for cheap laughs which is highly offencive to me and probably a lot of people.

i was trying to lighten it up, but he could be bi or as the quest is based around you then if you speak to him he chats to you and you get an option to marry him same as the princess for the girls, it just comes in naturally, not hard to change that over slightly

The idea for this thread even came from a moderator of this forum, whom i believe took me seriously after our pm, who also gave me the idea of how to put this accross, i have tried is all i can say.

why would i troll about something i believe in? something i wanted and thought other people wanted, if you believe i am not genuine and use a charecter from a tv show which really is just an abuse on gay people, daffyd was just a sterotype of what people find gays to be, making them into a mockery, the fact you have even used that as an example looks to me as though you have no respect for the gay community. i posted the last thread as a belief, i feel that marriage in rs in them quests could be added to give equality. i also feel a gay pride style of event could be good in rs and the wearing of the robes would just be good, like a gathering for people and making a fun event. i am not here to make an argument i am here to bring a little bit of fun and get people who are gay to come together for a brilliant people event outside of jagex and in the hope that jagex will see that there are a lot of people who are gay who would love them to bring these types of events over every now and again, not an everyday occurance dont want to be all in the faces of people saying we are here we are queer, just trying to say there are gay people about, so that even the kids learn to accept it for future as well. same with anything, race included as well everyone should be accepted, i would love it if rs was equal to all.

well i have decided to join that are accepting to the gay community and the leader is brilliant i am glad that someone pm'd me on here telling me about the clan, i wont say who they are through fear of them being shunned or rejected like i seem to have been by the community on here, luckily one person managed to speak up but had to hide in pm to avoid being ridiculed by the people on here, sadly i dont think people are ready for us gays yet in rs but luckily this clan is highly accepting, i just hope that one day the people here can finally accept this is life and not have to be against who we are :(
