Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
Yes yes I know. I don't want to discuss it anymore honestly because there's nothing more to discuss. Different experiences, different thoughts, different opinions, etc etc. It's a very nice cape. The aquarium is a poor piece of content that flew in the face of their stated intent of grinding and shallow content. Thank god all I do anymore is hang around the f2p GE and harass the trust traders and money doublers.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
...No I'm pretty sure I want that cape for its dank ass stats and features. I don't give a [bleep] what a little tryhard thinks of me. Assuming everyone wants it because of lolprestige is just poorly reasoned. In case that means me, I'm at nottryingatall. Sure some people enjoy the stats, but come on, who are we trying to fool here? The cape, especially trimmed, is a show piece, as are all of the Capes of Distinction. This one requires a lot more work And it isn't poor reasoning, it's my experience with the people who have and want them. Perhaps TIF has a better class of players, but in the live game, all my experiences point have led me to my opinion. Kimberly you are the exception, not the rule. IMO of course.

Quests: Left in the dust?
I was doubting enough people are playing it to put together a game. :p I do have this odd feeling though as I talk to you you're not wearing pants...

Quests: Left in the dust?
Very doubtful, but at least it's something for f2p.

Quests: Left in the dust?
At least Brassica/Marimbo left f2p a minigame.

Bad content is bad. Let's just move on.

Alg, the point isn't lost on me. The whole affair just makes me roll my eyes. And Jagex not make content grindy and repetitive? Pish posh Sir!

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
Again, not about content being comp centric. Point is too much effort worrying about a very minor group of people. Second point was that they don't care about the content being bad. They care about being forced to play it. If it's bad and no requirement, they care not if it's bad. Yes, you can have a selfish interest. I'm tired of hearing it and I'm tired of time and attention being catered to, in the grand scheme of things, something of very minor significance. Edit: I'll make myself plain: I'm sick of compers. I'm sick of discussions about comp requirements, I'm sick of content only being talked about how it relates to compers. I'm sick of the whole affair. Now I'll freely admit that is just me. It's my opinion and my feelings. I don't care to discuss it because I don't want to. I don't like to hear about it. I don't fault compers for their opinions and their interests. I get it. I might feel the same in their position. Simply put, every time I see it, I sigh and skip over it if I can.

That quest was decent by conventional standards, but for what should have been the 200th quest was heart wrenching. I felt like a parent saying "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed in you." Sy, yes it would've been good at t80. It wouldn't have been used at Kal'gers so much, would've been a nice option for other demons, no degrades. Just a nice, solid bit of good use. But as usual, they have to do the peak and valley treatment.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
Sorry, I was mistaken. Confusing the titles for pets. I'm a bit busy and didn't sleep well last night. I would point out that essentially all new content has some form of completionist requirement. So every piece of content requires too much attention for a small amount of people. This is of course my opinion. I do find it tiresome that compers complain about bad content not because it is bad, but because they feel forced to play bad content to maintain their prestige piece.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
In my opinion Boss Monster Pets was an update that in mud development was completely altered and changed to give Completionists something to do and to stretch content My main point is that content in development is given an amount of time and focus as to how the content affects them disproportional to the amount of completionists. It is a gray area discussion, not black or white one. And Arceus, Livid Farm wasn't. That is just a horrible little piece on content that should've never made in the first place. And adding it to Comp Cape was just mean.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
Remember a while back when a Jmod randomly played Sheep Shearer on Twitch and nearly lost his mind? It was so spectacular it almost gave me a sexual thrill. They really need to play their own game more on regular accounts. I also really wish they'd realize that being on the forefront of technology is risky and a huge resource drain and they're hardly big enough to make it work. But nitpicking...

Darklight Upgrade Concerns - Mod Rowley
I think the issue is they are overcomplicating things by making it be similarly effective on all different demons. As in they are trying to make it appropriate to the demons particular stats/levels instead of a simple flat out boost, which means it ends up needing to have bigger boost vs higher demons being only a steel sword in real-stats and a lesser boost vs weaker ones. Rather than a flat out boost which would end up, like generic t90 weps for example, being solidly decent on stronger mobs and utterly decimating lower mobs. Why not to t80? That way top tier would still be best, but you'd have something nice to use against a small number of creatures? It wouldn't devalue Chaotics and you'd still need another high level weapon or shield. Everybody happy.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
They have a point and they have a unique perspective, but content being worked around such a small contingent of people is also an issue. Now all that aside, this update was standard Jagex. Anybody who thought they would follow that design document was fooling themselves. Or maybe the update wasn't even thought in relation to comp capes and that gave them a nice little excuse to not have said document be followed. In any case it seems that the only way for them to release anything good requires them to work with the community every step of the way because when left to their own devices they do not give what is wanted. The most popular things are Ninja team tweaks that should've been in the game upon release anyway.

Darklight Upgrade Concerns - Mod Rowley
I was okay with the "trial and error" method of Runescape design 10 years ago. I wish for a little better from a legitimate gaming company. I grow weary of Jmods going all "Leroy Jenkins!" with their updates. Does that reference make me sound old? : /

Fair enough, but I find the decision they originally made after requested feedback and discussion, which was then subsequently ignored, to be rather disconcerting.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
I'm sure they hate it. They still want to be above the rest of the lower classes, but they don't want to have to do crappy content to achieve this either. And Kimberly, I think that too much attention and focus is given to a very small and overly vocal minority. They have legitimate concerns and gripes, but the issues then comes down to pedantic and trivial matters that waste everyone's time.

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
That is true, but let's be real, that isn't the primary reason. It's for the status. :)

Aquarium – Player-Owned House Update
My advice to you is not worry about statistics, hours of research, and anything else overly effort intensive. Find something you like to do and play. This game is far too dictated by compers. No one wants to have fun anymore. They want to obtain or maintain a silly little cape to lord it over the pleabians.

Quests: Left in the dust?
And a quest is permanent. A part of the game that everyone will have a chance to do at some point. And I thought a great idea they had and then abandoned was the holiday quest. Do it for the event, but the quest stays on. Do they not like to develop quests because then they're limited in what they can do? Do they not want to come up with lore? Is it just too hard for them to do? I think a solid reason why they don't have popularity is because the rewards don't make it worth the time investment and people are so damned obsessed with the game, xp/hr, gp per hour, *razzle frazzle* stupid game being dictated by math. I'm err, rambling...

Darklight Upgrade Concerns - Mod Rowley
Yes, most likely. Though graphically it would've meant fraying the edges a bit. Then mending them. I don't know how much work it takes when something is completed to prep it for update.

Anyone thing a lot of updates feel like a Facebook game, but slightly better?

Darklight Upgrade Concerns - Mod Rowley
Imagine how cool it would've been if they had released each clan area once a week and the city truly looked like it was slowly growing. Could've still had it done before each release. But yes, what they do with their own incompetence is much more honest and much more horrifying. Lying means they know what they're saying isn't true, but it would imply they in some way knew what they were saying.

Quests: Left in the dust?
But they haven't done a huge amount of world events. Everything feels lazy and unfocused. And the concept of making a quest replayable and how they turned that into a feature for specific quests in lieu of interesting content is aggravating.

Great idea! We'll get to work on that and have it out for Treasure Hunter by July!
