  1. You call those the "good old days" of runescape?... wow...

Heres what i see as the good old days of runescape:

    (Ignore the weird font lol)

Those most certainly weren't "the good old days" lol. Notice even the 'return the main menu' link, meaning that pic has to have been late 05-06+? Good old days were around 02/03 when pking was packed, autoing was an underground thing and rune was actually worth something to pk. Darkdude's pic is a prime example. :)

That pic isn't even that old school I posted, it's probably around early 03, but they were the good old days. ;) Edit: Actually, the pic I posted has rune pick and sleeping bag so it is definitely around May? 03.

  2. I remember before sleeping bags...when you needed to rest because of fatigue. I use to fish at the guild and have to walk outside to the windmill to rest in the bed. Wasted soo much time, than the sleeping bag came thank god, use to be harder to lvl stats. I got to 92 fishing single clicking on 1 spot for hours, and sometimes right click harpoon every time to catch sharks. Those were the days before babyscape(rs2)

Haha, I remember having to do that too. Fatigue was a horrible update, though. :-X Didn't hinder autoers at all.

  3. If you look at the post again I think you will know.

Yes, because I suddenly have a method to look at matching IPs, don't I? I was obviously meant to assume it's the same person because he has the same outfit on in a generated sig, a different rsn and a join date that doesn't suggest he made it to agree with his post.

Of course, however, I'm meant to take a wild assumption that it is the same person.

  4. Yep, but 39 levels more only!

You're very optimistic my friend lol.

Realistically, you have to get 60 attack around 38 times to hit 99 attack.

Edit: Out've ignorance, I totally forgot to actually comment on your thread anyway mate. I remember the first time I hit 60 attack in 2002 rs1. :) It's a nice accomplishment :D

Next time you wish to express your views on someone's spelling in such a rude manner, please note yours isn't perfect either.

Now, I can't be bothered to get into some childish argument, so don't bother replying to me. However, heed this information next time you wish to be so ignorant and post crap like you did.

    Cheers.

  6. History: A utoRune Bot was one of the first, or the first, bot created. After the main person who coded it didn't like the way RS was going, he stopped coding it. Then, another creator created SCAR, which is what most bots/autoers use today.

AR was in no shape or form a bot. AR was a program that basically used direct packet injection through a proxy to the runescape client. It eventually didn't focus onto the runescape client, and instead Raw resurrected runebot (a java bot with some commands added into the bot, but the scriptable side was linked to AR which sent the packets) and ixBot - created by evo (the same as RB basically, but could also be java scripted as well as using the simple AR scriptable language). These were the new 'clients' that were used in conjunction with AR. It was the same creator who made AR called kaitnieks who made SCAR also.

You're getting the original Runebot confused with AR. Both are terribly different; one is just a java bot which feeds packets to jagex's server. AR could manipulate packet injection and therefore was a much more powerful program than any java bot.

However, this topic is about the original introduction of RB created by Vee.

    - Original RB - Vee.

    - Original AR - Kaitnieks.

    - Original SCAR - Kaitnieks.

    - Resurrected AR - Buckna (Asheyrune) & RaW. Possibly more, I'm not sure.

    - Resurrected RB - RaW & his developer evo.

    - ixBot - RaW & his developer evo.

    - Eventually AR auth system was cracked and released to every idiot who could get their hands on it... was a sad day to say the least.

Most people think autoing only started when the likes of rscheatnet and rei-net came around, but 'bovinelabs' was a cheating community a very long time ago before any of the newer cheating sites. It has to be understood that to get your hand on this old RB was hard, and to get an AR auth in its early stages was almost impossible as people were hand-picked.

Why I know this? Just what I've heard. ;)

Edit: Click this url and scroll down to the bit about RB. This will give the basics of the OLD RB created by Vee:

    http://www.freewebs.com/codhead2/rscapeanditsscripts.htm

And if anyone is wondering further what AR is/looks like in game, and how it is completely seperate from the original RB, then check out this video:

That is not my video, by the way. For some reason, someone's using STS with AR to autocatch in the video. I wasn't even aware AR still existed, but there you go. Also, notice how the person being caught has a lower pid to the catcher. This shows how powerful AR is compared to the likes of RB and such. The packet injection is superior to that of a simple java bot's packets sent.

Sorry I got a little off-topic, just some people seem a little confused and I thought I'd try to clear it up. :)

  7. I skimmed over your article, and it looks like a good read. However, I cringe when I read players' hate of updates happening to rs2. I don't even play either version of runescape, but updates displeasing to players have happened before, and they'll happen again. I'm talking about things such as:

    - Fatigue;

    - Mods ceasing to even log on to actually moderate their game (I'm aware that's hardly an update, but more of a gradual thing that happened);

    - Worlds being deleted left, right and center...

    And of course, ultimately:

    - The real runescape turning into a dead game called 'classic'.

Please, do not get my post mixed up with a lot of the nonsense I read on these forums trying to strike up an argument, but I believe you rs2'ers really have it easy. Look how screwed over loyal rs1 players were who didn't like rs2. I played the beta, and thought it was horrible. It's nothing like the old runescape and now because of a few updates that displease the majority of rs2, it's constant complaints.

Also, don't think I'm some nostalgic kid who is yearning to see runescape classic make a comeback, because you'd literally have to be deluded to even dream that. However, you guys really have had it a lot better, so I suggest to just bit your lip and get on with it.

  8. I honestly don't know. :o Decided to recently get membership to see how rs1 was after all that time and I wasn't expecting to be able to log on, but to my amasement I could. If I wanted to pay another ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã5 by SMS, I could probably check a few other characters that literally haven't been logged into since like 02/03 but I highly doubt they'd work and I don't wish to try. :P

  9. ^ Explained it really well.

There was no crush, stab and all that. Only different combat styles of controlled (+1 to str, atk and def), aggressive (+3 str), acccurate (+3 atk) and defense (+3 def). They barely made any difference whilst in combat anyway.

You could be impure or pure. Pures have loads of different definitions, such as no prayer and no mage; no mage, but you could have prayer; hits level above combat level and so fourth. Whatever the definition, it was mainly having no magic. Pures only were effective to a certain level, however, really because once you went higher level, mage was needed whilst pking to keep wasting down food quicker.

Most real pkers pked on f2p, unlike rs2 where it seems p2p is where it's at. Inventorys usually consisted of:

    Rune 2h,

    Rune large,

    Rune plate/chain,

    Rune legs,

    Ruby/diam ammy,

    Fire, air and death/chaos,

    Reg str pot,

    21 lobs/swordies.

When you engage in combat, you have a system called the 3-round system. You'd hit your opponent, receive a hit, hit opponent, receive a hit, hit opponent and then they could run.

Eating was basically the same as rs2, but I haven't played it since its beta so I'm assuming it's a lot quicker than rs2's eating.

'Catching' was the main skill involved in pking. When your opponent ran, you clicked in his running direction and waited for around 3 seconds (the time it took the engage in another 3 rounds of combat), click attack (as long as you were 1-2 squares behind on the same, or parallel running path) and then you'd 'catch' the player. It's a hard concept to grasp by typing words but search youtube for it and you'll find some videos of it.

That's the main gist of it. :)

  10. No one remember Masterlance? I remember holy grail quest had just came out and I read his topic on old scapeboards where he cleaned up with a lotta rune sets. I remember looking at the pics of like 3 sets in his invent with axes and thinking "wow".

And the whole ' ;------------------------------\\ ' thing? Who started that? Something tells me it was Mr man86? Remember a lot of the flame wars Tim started on new era haha...

  11. Dude, that list is mostly filled with people when rs was in its prime, and most of them gained recognition on a much harder game than rs2..

That's why I should be on that list, along with you.

I realised what I wrote could actually be taken offensively mate, but I didn't mean it like that, nor does it seem you took it that way thankfully. Just saying that these guys, e.g. zar family 2, azn purity, robin hood, xpkax, da str tep, sexy paki, nowyoudie, master razor etc. (could randomly rhyme off loads of names I remember pking) were like an era before say you and me (well me for sure anyway). I wouldn't belong on a list like that cus these guys pioneered (I'm talking bout the pkers on the list anyway, and the list I named isn't meaning they were good, just that they're an era before me pretty much) pking pretty much when I would only be training to even try pking. Was no offense meant :)
