  1. Yes, but it seems like the minigame was designed for hiding and running, so I don't over-rage about it. :/
  2. No, you'll lose by people in Nex armor with steel titan, SOA, and DDP. And there is still a fair bit of skill involved in FOG.
  3. I accept criticism as I have before all those posts. I'm not going to flame you for stating your opinion. I'm not going to be mad unless you start stating that this guide sucks for no reason at all, or start insulting me, and you have done neither. Why would my guide be for people that slay incorrectly? Because it's for somebody with 99 summoning? People do slayer past 99, I'm sure. Zarfot's guide is very good. I completely agree with you... it's the best I've seen so far. But it's the reason why I wanted to create this guide... Because the information is outdated in places. (I'm not kidding, this was literally my original reason for making this guide.) I was trying to slay better, but there are new creatures and methods and ideas that are not mentioned on his guide. Regarding to the cannon placement, it is to my knowledge that it indeed doesn't matter that much for some tasks. Common sense says that when in doubt, put it in the center of the room. This doesn't apply to every task, so I've tried to put pictures for some of the spots to put down the cannon. There is a difference between randomly putting down the cannon and setting it in a good area, but I'm not sure if setting it up in the correct pixel will make a huge difference. HAVING SAID THAT, I would like to put that info down in future version of the guide. If you have tips and tricks and ideas not mentioned here or maybe even Zarfot's guide, I'd be more than happy to receive it and add it to a future version of the guide.
  4. I find it hard to believe that there are even a handful of people that do slayer as well as you think it could be done. (I have read Zarfot's guide, but his guide is getting old and outdated. There are new spots and different xp rates for monsters now, and doing a task in the wrong location would basically waste far more time than if you set up the cannon 1 pixel too much to the right.) Also I do not feel that it is necessary to list all the math he did. People just need to know that you should be turmoiling your task rather than doing it without prayer at all, so on and so forth. I don't really see a very good reason to list combat level/LP per monster/slayer xp per monster of a task for the time being. Also since this guide was not originally intended for a guy to work from very low to 99 slayer and get 99 summoning on the way (meaning Kuradal only tasks), I don't post charm drop rates. (I even generally assume you use a steel titan in your tasks.)
  5. Due to IRL situations, I am unable to log onto Runescape often, or update this guide. Consider this the final revision of the Powerslaying guide before the Evolution of Combat. I should be back to RS in 3 months time, where the update is just getting nice and ready. I will probably release "Powerslaying Guide v2", adjusted for the changes that the update brings. For now, thanks everyone for advice and tips. I even used some of them in my own slaying, and it has helped. Cheers! :)
  6. Just test Dark beasts at cannon vs at Kuradal's. Kuradal's is about 10k xp per hour slower. (42k vs 51k) I'd recommend cannoning this task personally. Fire giants cannoning is more iffy, but for those with high value of time, still worth it. I think Dclaws is better than DDP here. I keep missing with DDP. Bleh.
  7. Done. It loads instantly on my computer though. (Just got my old gaming machine, now I'm rocking max detail in everything. :) ) I got my Fero ring back, and I did a test for steel dragons.
  8. Wow, this is great! Thanks! :D
  9. The ability to cannon is worth like... 5 salve amulets. :D
  10. I will test both Dark Beasts and Gargoyles in Kuradal's dungeon when I get a chance. I did some stupid stuff and lost my last Kuradal ring. >.> Have to get it back before I can test it. I added a section on why Ranged sucks. If you want to train it, just cannon every task. I'm going to try to find time to squeeze in a section on useful auras in Slayer.
  11. Don't forget that Dominion Tower also unlocks dreadnips. I'd also take Goliaths to Forinthry to cannon Greaters, since the risk with those gloves is almost none. Also, many players want the best combat gear unlocked, and Dominion Tower goes a long way to ensure that.
  12. I've posted all that now. Here is a random picture: Why do you need a random picture of me slaying? o_o I've edited the guide to fix some inconsistencies. Any tips on how to make my guide look more visually appealing?
  13. Ok, anybody have any suggestions or comment on what my guide is missing? I have updated the info on iron and steel dragons, and I will put up xp/hr on steels when I get them as a task. I will also put a small section talking about SOA and Bonecrushing tasks. A task of 30 miths took me, say, 18 minutes with rapier. Task of 60 irons took me about the same time. I'm going to find out how long terror dog task really is going to be... see if it should be skipped. EDIT: Task didn't even last 10 minutes, lol. Anything about the organization of the guide? Anything you want to see? More info on dark beasts/ice strykes will pop up as I gain the ability to do them. That's right, I made this giant stinkin' guide and I'm just 90 slayer lol.
  14. Actually, the steels in the NW corner, there are 3 of them together, which is good for cannoning. Problem is still the inaccuracy of the cannon when maging. I think I'd have better results cannoning at irons with rapier. Ehh, only one way to know for sure, <,<
  15. Hmm, I think it'd actually be faster to use Kuradal's dungeon for SOA, especially on Steel dragons. The accuracy with cannon while using mage just isn't enough. I'm only getting a crummy 42k slayer xp per hr with SOA here at Ghorrock. Cannoning is probably more viable if you were to melee them... Right now I'm not impressed with the speed I"m getting with SOA. If I were to test SOA thoroughly I'd need to bring in some Virtus and lots more arma runes, and that would kill my cash stack...
  16. Do I need to include a picture for every task as to how to get there? Lol. Really CBA to do that. I'll include cannon spot pictures though, and possibly inv pictures.
  17. The idea of TVC is not really new, but I thought I'd post in case some people still don't know what it is. :)
  18. Why It's Useful You must have heard of some noob complaining about whether to use "big bones" or "dragon bones" or maybe even "frost dragon bones" to train prayer. Or a person not knowing whether to high alch cheaply or go with the faster, yet more expensive method of stringing amulets. This guide aims to help you figure it all out. What is Time Value Cutoff? The idea is this. Suppose you decide to do a slower, yet cheaper method to train a skill. Each extra hour you spend there, training away, with your slower method versus the faster method, is one hour you could have spent directly trying to make money. And if you know how fast you make money in an hour on average, you can calculate which method is for you. Application Example Note: The prices of items fluctuate a lot on the Grand Exchange. Also, at any given day, an item may buy only at way below or above the GE trade price. Be wary and always use a calculator. Google has a good calculater. Just pop in queries like "500 x 500" and hit search. Step One - List Your Goal and Assumptions Goal: Get 5,000,000 prayer xp Options: Big Bones, Dragon Bones, Frost Dragon Bones Method: Gilded Altar Bones per Hour: 1000 Big Bones = 328gp each, at 52.5xp each Dragon Bones = 4,468gp each, at 252xp each Frost Dragon Bones = 16,000gp each, at 620xp each. What I will calculate: Which bone to use. What I will NOT calculate: Whether to use gilded altar or ectofungus. That's another TVC problem. This example assumed you use gilded altar to train prayer. Step Two - Find "Gp/Xp" and "Xp per Hour" Big Bones: 328/52.5 = 6.25 gp/xp Big Bones Xp per Hour = 52.5 x 1,000 = 52,500 xp per hour Dragon Bones: 4,468/252 = 17.73 gp/xp Dragon Bones Xp per Hour = 252 x 1,000 = 252,000 xp per hour Frost Dragon Bones: 16,000/620 = 25.80 gp/xp Frost Dragon Bones Xp per Hour: 620 x 1,000 = 620,000 Xp Needed: 5,000,000 Big Bone Method: 5,000,000/52.5 = 95,239 bones 95,239 bones/1,000 (Bones per Hour) = 95.23 Hours Total Cost: 5,000,000 x 6.25 = 32,250,000gp Dragon Bones Method: 5,000,000/252 = 19,842 bones 19,842/1,000 = 19.84 Hours Total Cost: 5,000,000 x 17.73 = 88,650,000gp Frost Dragon Bones Method: 5,000,000/620 = 8,065 bones 8,065/1,000 = 8.1 Hours Total Cost: 5,000,000 x 25.80 = 129,000,000gp Analysis Big Bones vs Dragon Bones: 88,650,000gp - 32,250,000gp = 56,400,000 gp 95.25 - 19.84 = 75.41 Hours 56,400,000gp/75.41 Hours = 747,911/Hour Thus the TVC compared to these two is: 747,911 gp/Hour Dragon bones cost an extra 56.4m, but saves 75.41 hours. If you make over 747,911 gp/Hour, you should use Dragon Bones rather than Big bones. But what about Dragon Bones vs Frost Dragon Bones? Dragon Bones vs Frost Dragon Bones: 129,000,000gp - 88,650,000gp = 40,250,000gp 19.81 - 8.1 = 11.71 Hours 40,250,000gp/11.71 Hours = 3,437,233 gp/Hour Thus the TVC compared to these two is: 3,437,233 gp/Hour Frost Dragon Bones cost an extra 40.25m , but saves 11.71 Hours, If you make over 3,427,233 gp/Hour, you should use Frost Dragon Bones rather than Dragon Bones. Conclusion TVC for Dragon Bones vs Big Bones is 747,911 gp per hour. TVC for Dragon Bones vs Frost Dragon Bones is 3.43m per hour. My Thoughts I wrote this guide because I hope some people would appreciate turning Runescape into a more mathematical endeavor. However, you can always decide to play Runescape however you want to play it. After all, that is the CORRECT way to play it. TVC does NOT calculate how boring or clicking intensive something is. Whether the extra efficiency is worth it for the boringness involved is up to the reader to decide. Other Applications Now we consider that all things in Runescape can be expressed in TIME, the reader might notice that all xp earned on Runescape may be put into "time". For example, if the xp/hour for training runecrafting is at 40k per hour, we can say that each runecrafting xp is equal to Money You Can Make Per Hour/40,000. In this concept, you may find that Herblore really isn't that expensive anymore... If you spot any mathematical errors in my guide, please let me know. If you wish to repost this, that's ok, just put my name in there somewhere. Other than that, let the comments roll.
  19. Ok, thanks for the feedback. I'm not really good at making things "flashy" and visually appealing, though. I'm going to look around at other Tip It guides to see what I can do to make it less sloppy and unorganized. :)
  20. Thanks. I'd be willing to spend the time required to research each aspect of high level slayer training, but I'm starting to not see the point when the evolution of combat update is looming, which will probably render my guide obsolete. :(
  21. Where is the proof? Also, you are then saying that +20% magical accuracy = +20% magic level.
  22. Not enough to use forever and ever. I will have to go bossing a lot eventually.
  23. No, it is very much relevant when you are 99 herblore.
