  23. No. The correct spelling is gilded. And there's no "u"--there's a "u" in the word "guild", but that word is a noun, and has an entirely different meaning (as in "Cooking Guild"). From Dictionary.com: gilded: 1. To cover with or as if with a thin layer of gold. 2. To give an often deceptively attractive or improved appearance to. 3. Archaic. To smear with blood. Thank you very much for clearing that up :) :P
